Speaking of links: Am I wrong if I assume that the fact that all links in forum posts are now redirected through a link like this https://www.adultdvdtalk.com/click.asp?dst=(number)&id=forum_link has got something to do with the 2257 changes?
This isn't specifically related to 2257, it's more a by-product of it. The purpose of this is two-fold. 1) to be able to track how much traffic all of the shameless self promoters are generating for themselves and 2) it's a search engine optimization thing.
We have been tracking exit traffic in this fashion outside of the forum for at least two years. Now the whole site is covered.
Now we know that the site sends out an average of 100 clicks every five minutes.
I just wanted to say that I like the new way of showing the "real" URL as a tool tip and as a status bar message - it's nice to know where you're heading!
Drew, that does not work with https -links. like: https://addons.mozilla.org and maybe because of that, that mouse over title/tool tip message does not also work with https -links.
I think what 1on1 means is that your linksystem does not work for https links, meaning I can shamelessly selfpromote my websites by changing them all to https links, without you tracking them. I don't think that is a real problem, unless I get really bored and change all my websites to secure websites: "Buy your porn secure here".
