I'm asking this question in the hope that someone has an answer because I'm quite curious to know what it would be. Why would a cam model suddenly decide to do hardcore porn? I'm, of course, assuming that Scarlett is your proto-typical cam model in that she only does solo tuff so no g/g and no b/g. I can see the appeal for a fan of her to finally see her do some actual porn but I can't see the advantage for her unless she is only going to do a couple of scenes and then immediately go back to cam only stuff but with the now added title of pornstar and an ability to charge more and a bigger fan base.
To be honest she really seem to digg porn. She told me on cam that she has watched most of RealityKings scenes and previews since she was 11-ish! Kind of surprised she waited so long though. Might have to ask her about that next time she is online. She really seem to like doing it though. She has a huge smile on her face and answers all questions about it without hesitations.
Because they want to? Seriously, camming doesn't pay THAT much more money than shooting a scene (on a money per time spent basis) unless you're like at the absolute top of the food chain. It's just that you have control over when you cam, as opposed to waiting to get booked for a scene. Girls starting off as cam girls and making their way to doing porn has been a thing for years now, arguably going back a decade or so. There's some pretty big starlets right now that actually started out as cam models first (for example, Holly Michaels).
^Yeah that's a key consideration: camming is not a full time job in the traditional sense, and is flexible with starting times. You can shoot a scene during the day, and then cam during the evening. Income from one can supplement the other, and are not necessarily mutually exclusive activities. As a result (from my understanding at least) you're seeing more and more pornstars camming now, and I'm not surprised to see some in the other direction(i.e. girls like Aaliyah love) With the proliferation and popularity of camming sites , in recent times, I think some of the girls who may have been inclined to do porn, have now been doing camming first. In the older days, while many former porn-stars were strippers first, the majority of strippers do not become pornstars. It may be a similar dynamic here.
Is it possible that it's less a case of wanting to and more a case of having to? You stated that camming doesn't pay all that much so is it possible that she is no longer as popular as she once was and now needs to increase her popularity and/or look for other source of income?. I have always assumed (possibly incorrectly) that people who chose camming did so because they didn't actually want to go into porn but still wanted to make money from something that is similar. I know most people consider cam content to be porn but I don't. I'd also like to point out that doing cam work is a significantly more lucrative thing to do than porn. There is usually no travel expenses to consider because cam models can often work from home and those that don't probably don't travel far from their homes. They certainly don't go to other cities to do cam shows so that is a huge saving that porn performers have to consider. They mostly only do solo stuff so not exactly a demanding task and certainly nowhere near what the average porn girl has to do to earn a living. Unless I'm way off then the standard per minute charge your basic cam model makes must be at least 1$ in her pocket per customer. That means that any customer who stays with her for 10 minutes has paid 10$ for a solo show and if she has at least 5 customers at the same time then that is 50$ for 10 minutes of solo stuff.
While there may be some girls that go into camming because they don't want to do porn, there are girls that get into because it's the easiest way to get started in the porn industry and build up a fan base. While there are probably some girls that fit your description, from what I've seen there's a lot more that don't.Travel costs are only "really" a thing if you don't live in LA or Florida. Which is why most girls that shoot porn on a professional level live in one of those two places. The primary girls that don't are the ones popular enough that when they do travel to shoot, they go for weeks at a time and shoot for multiple companies while they're there, which spreads out the travel costs per scene. And there are companies that are actually willing to pay your travel costs to shoot, if they think you're worth it. And from what I can tell, a decent cam girl can usually make a couple hundred dollars a night from a 1-3 hour show. On a monetary basis, doing a b/g scene for $700-900 that lasts 2-4 hours makes you more money on a money/time basis, in addition to increasing your visibility so that you can make more money on your shows. In other words, as a cam girl, if you're willing to do porn, it will generally only benefit you to get into it. Also, generally speaking, the girl only makes 30-50% of the money that the customers actually pay for any given show, and the harder the things you do, the more money you (usually) make. I'd also like to point out that your basic b/g scene probably requires a lot more than 2-4 hours to shoot and of course that does not include the travel time.I've never tried a cam model but you probably have so don't most cam models charge a minimum of 2$ per minute to each customer? If I use your amounts then that means that a cam model makes as little a 60 cents per customer for every minute he stay with her and she can make as much as 1$. On the surface that looks like peanuts but 60 cents per minute is still 36$ an hour and that is per customer so multiply that amount by 5 and you get a salary of 180$ for one hour of solo stuff.
In some ways she is correct because the main appeal of cam shows is the one-on-one interaction between the model and her customers but that's as far as I'm willing to go with such a statement because it's pure marketing BS. Your basic customer knows only what Scarlet is willing to reveal and it's all in her advantage to create a false persona with her customer to create the illusion of intimacy. There's a few more out there than that, but I'm not a part of the cam world enough to be able to name much more than that, and some of them are girls that are fairly new (Daisy Haze/Summers), even if they do have "more than a couple of scenes" to their name.Porn doesn't shoot in the heart of LA or the heart of Miami. They shoot on the outskirts. It's easier to say LA as opposed to saying the San Fernando Valley, which is still in LA County but isn't actually the city of Los Angeles. So basically, porn is shot in the suburbs of those cities, which is where you just stated that most of the girls live. And most of the girls that live in the LA or Miami area actually drive to and from their shoots (or have a driver help with that), so there's no overnight stay required.The type of girl that actually lives out of state and only comes in for a few weeks to work is generally the type of girl that knows she'll get multiple shoots when she comes to town. Don't know where that came from. But that $66-200 an hour doesn't spread all the way out to 8 hours like that (in other words, the girls generally don't make $500-$1600 if they stay on for 8 hours). A more genuine way to say it would be that these girls can make about $200-$300 a day, which, if they worked an 8 hour day, would be about $25-40 an hour, which is good money, but not so much that there aren't a ton of people in this country who make that much or more. And you may spend more time than that on set if you're shooting a feature movie with dialogue, but your basic gonzo or vignette b/g scene with minimal intro/setup does take about about 2-4 hours to shoot, maybe a bit longer if you're with a technical director who wants to get a lot of positions from a lot of different angles. You can ask some girls about that if you don't believe me. And travel time is dependent on so many different things that it's hard to really guess it for any given scene.Actually, while that's true in pure theory, that doesn't take into account that most cam girls spend a lot of time in a free chat where they aren't getting paid anything. In fact, in what is arguably the most popular cam site out there (MyFreeCams), the entire chat is free, and girls basically depend on donations from the guys watching the chat, which they get a percentage of (that I believe is actually 60%). I think Streammate does it where you have your free chat where you don't do much except show off, and then you (the viewer) can pay a set amount of money (and usually not a per minute rate) to get into what they call a "gold chat" where the "more hardcore" (depending on what you consider hardcore) stuff happens.

Maybe he's trying to start his own agency? Performers becoming agents isn't an abnormal thing (ATMLA (Shy Love), LA Direct(Ben English), and Lisa Ann used to run her own before the whole Nailin Palin thing).
^ For me, it would be a bad thing because the majority of the major companies (and male talent) that I'd want to see her with shoot in California, not Florida/Miami. As a matter of fact, it really doesn't make any sense why she'd fly out to Miami to shoot scenes and not LA.

^ maybe the reason she flew to miami,was companys from their offered her a shoot and the LA companies not ;),Team Skeet,RK or Bangbros mostly shoot in Miami Area,so it would make sense at all for her,i know LA is near from Nevada but for a new girl it depends on the bookings to decide whats better.
^ Of those three companies, the only one that doesn't shoot a decent amount of scenes in LA is Team Skeet (and I'm not even 100% sure about that). At this point, I'd argue that RK shoots as much in LA as they do in Florida now (of the last 21 scenes listed on the site, 9 are Florida and 7 are LA). It looks like she won't be shooting scenes with anyone at this point. She just announced that she'll just be shooting for her website, and it will be solo only.
