Even when Tera Patrick tried copying the same formula that Jenna stumbled across it didn't work for her to the extent it did for Jenna. Sasha Grey is probably better accepted in mainstream but not as popular as Jenna was. [Link]

Physically her and Jenna are nearly identical at 5'4 and 115 lbs, and have some mannerisms that are similar. Whether she will have the financial or mainstream success of Jenna Jameson is doubtfull, but KLK for my money is hands down a better pure porn actress both in skills and screen sexuality. [Link]

She and Jay Grdina (who was her husband then) rode that wave and pioneered a lot of pay site stuff with Club Jenna. It was a different time and that time is over now. Click to expand You can't compare Jenna Jameson and Sasha Grey Just because Sasha Grey retired from porn does not make her a "mainstream sellout" Sasha was way edgier and more adventurous than Jenna. She did many more scenes than Jenna and did things on camera that Jenna would never do I mean Sasha's very first scene was anal with Rocco Siffredi! Jenna was much "safer" Also you might not be a fan of Sasha's performances, but there is no denying she was a furious performer Girls move on and leave porn all the time. You cannot fault Sasha for taking the opportunities available to her Would she be less of a "sellout" if she had just quit and disappeared altogether? Sraddha Member 91 Posts 11/10	Posted - May 1 2011 : 1:14PM Even though she doesn't seem to be getting much love in this thread, I've always been a Jenna fan, so I doubt that there will be a "next Jenna" if only because she was (1) the right girl at (2) the right time -- both of those have to come together, and it's exceedingly rare - I mean, it's really only happened once before. So following Jenna's 'playbook' (Sasha Grey, Tera Patrick, etc.) won't result in much fame b/c of point (2) -- this is a different time. And similarly, girls like Belladonna and Gina Lynn have been in the industry for years; they may be Porn Famous, but if they haven't been noticed by the mainstream by now, I'd be surprised if it would ever happen. To me, the successor to Jenna will have to take it up a level; and what that level is, I don't know if anyone knows. Most of today's porn seems geared towards the 'circus acts' which may make someone porn famous, but IMO will limit their mainstream possibilities. My theory on that Next Level is that there eventually will be a girl that acts in mainstream pieces (as something more than a scenery chewer or manufactured publicity) while at the same time continuing to appear in adult. And figuring out who that is would be similar to betting on where lightning's going to strike next. But if you want my guess, it will have to be someone brand new -- my theory is that if they're already in the industry, they'd already be on their way. So my guess on who's got the best shot would be BiBi Jones. And if it's not her, it's someone that hasn't shot her first scene yet. [Link]

Porn is going through a rebuilding phase and there's no telling if it will ever be the success in the way it was before or that a new era will make it bigger than ever. The next Jenna might not be a big deal on mainstream tv or magazines but may have total unmatched internet/online dominance. [Link]

Now most pornstars are just plain gorgeous. most can pass or have done modelling. Like Tera Patrick. Unless a famous actress goes into porn, it is unlikely they'll they'll be another Jenna Jameson era. [Link]

The question presumes that the industry is the same as it was 10 years ago. The kind of celebrity oxygen Jenna was breathing got sucked out of the room by two things: Reality TV series and celebrity sex tapes. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are the new Jenna jamesons. Or Snooki ... since Jersey Shore is pretty much a celebrity sex tape with the dirty bits (mostly) edited out. Sasha Grey is kind of her own phenomenon. But not isolated as such. There's a lot of crossover between porn star "creatives" (sorry for the branding cliche) and (slightly) more mainstream pop culture. As the industry continues to melt down/decentralize/splinter, porn stars are going to function more like indie rock bands or micro-budget indie filmmakers. They are already, look at Twitter. As for musical artist then how about Elvis Presley? He would be considered a much bigger musical star than many before and after him. That doesn't mean that he's the biggest ever but his name would be at the top of most list and people are still talking about him more than 30yrs after his death. Click to expand Okay first, Tera did not start doing porn until six or seven years after Jenna. Jenna really built her name in the 90s, then rode the internet explosion in 2000. Tera did not even start doing porn until 1999. By that time, Jenna had already been on the Howard Stern show a dozen times, and she was mentioned by Howard all the time, which was a big boost to her mainstream popularity. Compared to Jenna, Tera was late to the game. Second, Tera did not have Jay Grdina. Grdina is really the brains behind Club Jenna's success. He is the one who founded, expanded & marketed the company. He is the one with the business degree who made the deals and turned Club Jenna into a $30 million company. Mainstream success in show biz is not about who is actually a better performer or who is more talented. It is a combination of positioning, marketing & luck.
