I don't know if this is possible, but it would be very useful for the lowest price to be in bold (or marked in some other way - by color, maybe?) when comparing the total cost of an order of a number of DVDs. The total order as a block might be less expensive at one source; however, by breaking an order into two (or more) parts at different online stores, further savings can be had. Having the least expensive price for each of the DVDs marked would make it easy to divide the order to realize further savings.
I'm in the process of rewriting the entire price search section of the site. The order comparison page is one of the top items that I plan to address. The rewrite I'm working on isn't just cosmetic, I'm including an entire array of new features unheard of on an adult site. (in addition to some basic things that we are lacking.)
I'm going through some of my old code tonight wondering to myself how the price search has managed to work relatively well for the past 16 months with relatively few modifications. I wrote 95% of it in March of 2000 and I really didn't have much of a clue about what I was doing back then. I'm really looking forward to completing the rewrite and adding the new features. It's going to take a little while. I will hopefully have it completed in early August.
Many times the people who don't think that they have a clue, know a lot more than they think they do. Just the fact that they realize that they don't know a lot shows something.
Sometimes the people who have a clue do a better job of breaking things than those who don't. Intelligent people who don't have a clue tend to be more cautious and less willing to add the "Bells & Whistles" that end up causing many of the problems later occur.
The fact that the search has worked well for this long is a testament to the fact that you had much more of a clue than you are giving yourself credit for.
One thing I've noticed about the pop up java price search on my site is that it doesn't always show the same number of retailers selling a title as the the price search does on this site.
Is this intentional or a technical limitation or something you were not aware of?
It also occasionally miscounts the number of videos. I had 12 titles on my list and it told me that DVD Empire and GameLink both had 11 out of my 11 titles - the funny thing was that each of them was missing a different title! The 7 other sources listed also showed a smaller number of titles out of a total of 11. I even tried adding all 12 to my list over again and got the same results. Unfortunately, I can't tell you now exactly which 12 titles I had on the list as I deleted it after I played around with the numbers and placed several orders.

GaySatyr - is it possible you had quantity zero for one of the items in your cart? we keep that option so that people can easily compare different combinations in their cart.
i've done some testing and can't recreate the improperly counted quantities.
I've found the cause. I had a particular title, Mountain Patrol, that seems to be listed twice for X on Air, resulting in an erroneous count any time I include that particular title in the search. (It even gives the error by itself.) When Mountain Patrol is included with other titles, other problems sometimes develop but it is inconsistent. I cannot find that particular title listed twice on the X on Air site, so I cannot point a finger at the fault.

GaySatyr - ok just fixed that title. sometimes we get duplicates from stores. the database isn't perfect - so if you ever see an error please let me know.
