Though I kind of wish they were the homicide girls, which would increase the likelihood of them raining furious gothy death blows on the Pussycat Dolls until they stop with that damn "don't you wish your girlfriend was..." song...

'Cause, seriously man, that shit has to stop.

+1, but pop (whatever genre) has always been the home of bad 'music'.

I would buy a video of Gothettes beating the crap out of different bad music groups.

Nice little disc. Basic drill after the opening montages and this is what we're about business is graphic introducing the girl. Girl provides some interview material, invariably peppered with a lot of "likes", live dance footage, some more interview (I had to recall Jamesn's post and chuckle when one of the girls began talking about having been an Olympic hopeful in swimming in school...but hey, if these were actual suicidal girls they'd walk out to "Berlin", start to take off their clothes, bitterly mumble "oh, god, what's the point ? under their breath and collapse on the stage crying) or road doc. footage of girl, then a piece in a set that I came to think of as 'moving pictorials'. In between these, some connective tissue on the road footage, usually high on the antics. The format is a little repetitive over the long haul, but nice once you've picked you're favorites (my favorites, by the way, were Stormy, Snow, Shera, Tegan and Reagan...finally, a positive connotation for that name) and want to go straight to their little apartments in the movie. This disc looks good, nicely packaged, well shot, energetic performances. I really liked the sets for the moving pictorial stuff too, a lot of 'em really pop out...if this seems like something you'd like, and tats and piercings aren't an issue for you, you'll be happy with it.

Features are fairly light, there is a useful "Play No Talking" feature, which is just that. Allows you to watch the movie with all the chatter skipped. About two minutes of Missy flubbing her lines. "Tattoo" is a couple of minutes of two of the girls getting tattooed. "Van Attack" will probably be as enjoyable as it can be if I simply describe it as - more road antics. Probot music video--Lemmy should never wear new clothing---NEVER!

Yeah, I hate it, too. I hate it so much that I have never even been there! However, this might be a good time to end my lifelong boycott.

If this tour comes near me I'm going. I think there is nothing sexier than a suicide girl. Love the hula hoop girl.

Kimi Lixx,Julie Night,Tina Tyler and then everyone else.

Over this past year, I've read several bitter comments from ex-Suicide Girls regarding the management. It kinda looks like things have really begun to unravel now.

See Violet Blue's blog.

There is a thread "on the other board" about it.

Links to some of the LJ's, Rob Longshot & Eon Mckai check in, and i've been asking questions. worth the read

here is some of what i wrote:

my thoughts, girls modeled, got payed. that should be the end of it, IMHO. If they walk because they think they are the stars...see ya. there will be several girls waiting in the wings to be the next SG star.

like i mentioned...it's the SG brand. not this model or that one.

come tomorrow morning people aren't gunna care. IMHO

The brand is build on the (possibly false) understanding that the women have both authorship and ownership. That premise is a huge part of the SG cult. If that unravels it will be interesting to see what's left to sell.

Well, I can say with certainty that the women do not have ownership of the photographs. I've read the contract for photographers. It offers $200, in two installments ($100 before the shoot and $100 after the shoot), and the photographer surrenders all rights to the Suicide Girls ownership. Sean Suhl is the person who signs the paperwork.

One of the main complaints of the ex-SGs is that they also don't have ownership of the journals. They are promised a lifetime membership if they contribute a photoset, but if they express the wrong political opinion in their journals (it doesn't even have to be SG-related), they can find themselves locked out while their galleries and images in banners continue to sell the site.

I'm only passing along what I've read. In fairness, I have actually read some positive comments and rebuttals from current SGs, as well. I don't belong to the site and don't have a strong opinion. My observations of the industry suggest to me that Monstar is possibly right (if a bit cynical) in the general sentiment that "tomorrow morning people aren't gunna care." Most casual consumers aren't aware of the behind-the-scenes, and there seems to always be an endless supply of starry-eyed models available to replace the jaded ones.

SG is not a business I'd personally want to work for, though.

Just got through looking at the book and I've got to say, for $15.61, Feral House has put together a pretty good deal here. Almost entirely pictures (aside from a pretty standard "I was into pin-up art"...etc intro from Missy and some even more dispensible getting to know you crap from the girls at the end-on the upside, a handy index of the girls pictures and what pages they appear on was an undeniably thoughtful extra), all full color and all pretty darn attractive. Not exactly something to pass up New York Girls, Fetish Girls or Beauty Parade for, but pretty good if you're looking for a somewhat tamer alternative...

Quick impression of the new "Italian Villa" DVD:

Since pretty much all the fan favorites from the first disc have, um, left the SG organization (oddly, given the nature of the organization and some of the specific accusations against it, without Missy, who isn't even mentioned by name during the brief history of Suicide Girls that opens the movie) go to an Italy to meet with a new batch of girls too far away or too new for them to have completely pissed off yet.

Though there is no tour going on, the drill is essentially the same: girl introduces herself (intercut with previous photoshoot stills), raps a little, then striptease/photoshoot footage followed by a little connective tissue of community antics leading into the next girl. The most offputting new wrinkle in the formula is an unbelievably annoying voiceover that rides the line between porn ad copy, old European softcore (to go with the Villa theme, I suspect) and Peter Ivers monologues ("I had warm kittens in my tummy metting the girls on who I had major intense crushes, wouldn't you be peeing on every corner of excitement?) from the genuinely dreadful Manko (a girl who by her own admission is going for a 'Paris Hilton on crack' look).

Manko's pretentious script and personality aside, this isn't a bad crop of girls (if a mostly skinnier one). India, Yuki and Maia's segments in particular stood out for me

The only extras are a music video by Guachass and two by Tying Tiffany. None of which made much of an impression on me, you may well feel different.
