What is the a good way to support the adult industry. Joining Free Speech Coalition? What can a fan do to help support and defend our right to watch adult material.

I don't think joining the FSC can hurt. However, you should write to your representatives as well.

Join the FSC. I have actually talked to Diane (the Executive Director of the FSC)at length about developing a consumer division. The FSC not only defends the producer's rights to make hardcore content, but also the consumer's rights to purchase it.
I think its $50 per year for fans.

I made my first donation of $25.00 today to FSC.
"Operation Choke Point" is just one more attempt by governmental authorities to censor what I may watch in the privacy of my own home.
My credit union has denied the use of my credit card to purchase adult content.
It seems a bit ironic that my credit union allowed me to make donation to FSC.

This thread is especially relevant now. There will likely be a major ballot initiative on the California ballot in 2016 that will increase penalties for companies that shoot condom free. Details here. The people behind the proposed initative have deep pockets and will be spending lots to get voters on board with their plan. The initiative system in California is extremely fucked and whoever has the most money usually wins. Is the Free Speech Coalition forming a PAC to fight back against this proposal? If they are I'll definitely donate. Protecting performer autonomy is something all fans should support. And write your Representatives too. One major advantage the other side has is that people don't feel shame for being self-righteous paternalistic asses in public. Porn fans unfortunately do feel shame in public. More of us stepping out of the shadows would be a big help.
