Just viewed my first Swedish Erotica # 8 of the
modern era. If it were not for one scene from
the original 8mm series I would of been really
really pissed off. What a rip-off of a great 8mm
series. For those of us who have viewed the Swedish
Erotica series in 8mm back when porno had a past
and its future was in doubt. I have been in several
theaters when the cops came in and asked everyone
to leave and hauled off the ticket taker but left
the projectionist because he belonged to the Team
sters. Another ticket taker was waiting in the wings
for the cops who arrived right on time at 11am.
Most of the 20 scenes in #8 were scenes from old films
not 8mm SE. Not only did I recongize the old scenes from
16 and 35mm films I have seen but I reconized the 2 or 3
real SE scenes because those had no sound and the girls
all wore the scarfs which was a trademark of the SE.
I have some of the Blue Vanities video transfers but they
are mixed with Color Climax, Golden Girl and other great
8mm classics.

Not quite sure what you're "pissed off" about Wayne. Is there a difference between the old "silent" SEs and those later on with sound - and I thought the scarfs / garter belts thing was the trademark of ALL Swedish Erotica stuff? The thing I never liked about the silent ones was the silly printed dialog across the bottom of the screen saying things like "Mmmmmmmmmm", "Oh yes!" etc. etc. Completely superfluous.
I loved the old Swedish Erotica stuff, but I've never been able to understand why they called it that when the girls are obviously 100% American and it was also plain to see that the films were all shot in California!

Floraman, good to hear of another SE fan. You
are right about the false advertizing. If there
was ever a Swedish girl in SE it was by accident.
Do you remember the late actor John Candy in Splash
who in the movie said he learned Swedish by reading
the captions and listing to the dialogue of old
Swedish stag movies. Were their ever SE 8mm with
sound? In 17 or so of the scenes without scarfs, I
don't believe they were SE because they were scenes
from regular films. Certainly not an expert on SE but
it was not of a want of not trying.
