If you are a reviewer or want to review a movie just to get your feet wet, take this challenge. Whether you love Penthouse or hate Penthouse, whether you have never seen a Penthouse movie or buy them regularly, I want you to review one. I will send a free copy to the first 20 people who email me. howard@exiledist.com All I ask is that you watch it and review it honestly. I think you will definitley be pleasently surprised, and hey, it's free. We are in the process of changing the packaging for the much better, but the movie inside is what really counts. Penthouse shoots better quality, high production value and is really great stuff. Email me and check it out.
I've reviewed several of them, and although they've been a little hit or miss, I think they're doing a lot right and I normally look forward to them. From what I've seen they're one of the best couples focused studios out there and my only real complaint about their releases is that their extras are a bit generic and never have anything unique to that release. I'll also say that I normally liked their covers. I actually liked that they normally weren't hardcore covers, and instead tried to be sexy (and normally fun) rather than seeing how many stills from the movie they could cram on there. Penthouse? I've never done a full ADT review of one of their titles, but I've seen my share. They've been a bit hit and miss for me, as well. I've seen some that never really did it for me, and others that were pretty good, if they happened to have girls I like in the cast and/or especially if they catered to my feet and nylons fetishes. I don't think any were hard enough for me to call them a favorite movie of mine, but they were very pretty, with great production values. And I'm sure that was exactly what Penthouse was going for, not to be super hard, but to be very pretty. The scenes and movies were rather short and sweet. That's nice, in a way. I've said they've been hit and miss for me, but knowing that they're short makes me more willing to try another Penthouse DVD. If I don't like it, it's not much time wasted even if I never use my FF button, and if I do like it, I believe there is a show business saying about 'always leave them wanting more.' But the usual short running times and relatively high retail prices I've seen definitely make me more likely to rent than buy. Trailers and bonus scenes from other movies are nice, but I do like nice BTS. I know I've seen some Penthouse DVDs without any. But perhaps the more recent titles always have a good BTS. I think most of the Penthouse titles I've seen are from a few years ago, even if rented some of them just last year.
Interviews, bloopers, behind the scenes, maybe a quick little strip tease or solo scene with the girls... You know, something unique to that release. For example, I just popped in Supertail and the Evil Wang last night. The movie's about an hour and three quarters, which is definitely respectable for a little feature comedy, but extras are a photo gallery for the movie, a few trailers, and a bonus scene from Sinful along with a photo gallery. With the cast in that movie (Evan Stone, Randy Spears, and Kimberly Kane immediately jump to mind) and Jace Rocker directing are you telling me there wasn't any fooling around on the set that wouldn't have made fun behind the scenes or bloopers? I was just doing preliminary stuff for the review and haven't watched any of the movie yet, but on paper this release should have had the potential to be a really great DVD rather than just what should be a very enjoyable movie on a cookie cutter DVD. I'm liking a lot of what I'm seeing from Penthouse, but with the potential this release has the Sinful bonus scene almost feels like somebody saying "We'll just throw on a bonus scene and then they can't say that we aren't giving them any extras and it doesn't take us any real effort to do so". I have no problem with bonus scenes, and I actually wish more studios would include them in their releases. They give the viewer a little more bang for the buck and it has the potential to turn into another sale for the company with virtually no effort on their part. But with how little effort they take there's times when I barely even factor them in ratings the extras. "I do not as a rule seek advice about food from thin people..." - Jeffrey Steingarten

Something besides 4 vaginal positions and the dude jerking off on the girl's belly.
Bonus scenes from other titles have never much interested me as an extra. I view them more as marketing to get you to want to buy that title as well. There have been some titles from other companies that have featured BTS footage where they gave some guy a camera to wander around the sets. They get the stars goofing off and having fun in between takes and while not on camera. They also get the female stars to flash and show flesh. Stuff like this is what I like to see as an extra. Seems like an easy extra to make, not too much editing required. And they usually look like they were shot with a cheaper camera, but add value to the overall package.

Due to your great comments, Flash too, I am happy to tell you we will be adding everything both of you asked for. This is great feedback and Penthouse really listens to the consumer. Anything that anyone thinks will make Penthouse better, please comment. I will get it done.
Their movies are actually pretty good with very good production values. They do need to have more extras such as Behind the Scenes and possibly Interviews. Thanks Howard for asking our inputs. Den

I forwarded the comments to Kerlly holland today, President of Penthouse Video and she assures me all those will be put back into the movies immediatley. All the screeners went out today and you guys should be receiving them early next week.
Two things that are nice to have on DVD's : A. There should be commentary/ and or a behind the scene or "making of" segment. A good example of this is "Cashmere". I rented "Cashmere" and the Director's comments were an added bonus see: http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=cashmere/year=1998/cashmere.htm & B. Give the option to view previews/coming attractions and not make it mandatory. And no ads for Internet sites . Or leave them at the very end. and one more thing...BIG PET PEEVE for me: no guys jerking off, AKA self-jerkers! THE girls should do the honor by giving the handjob or have the dude Cum in Mouth or even creampie scenes or any other way to show the guy's cumming that is NOT by his own hands. Thank you. By the way...Brooke Banner is amazing in most of your vids. I recently saw her in "Dreams & Desires".

Great comments. As far as I know there are no commercials on Penthouse that you can't skip through. That was a big problem with Vivid that I had changed.
