Yeah, one has to be completely clueless or brainwashed by some recruiter who works for them to sign 5 year porn contract. I mean 3 years ontracts are not uncommon for other agencies but it needs to be said that not all contracts are bad - it's just LA Direct ones that are nasty. Difference is that agencies like ATMLA, OCModeling or NexxxtLevel don't use those contracts to control girls like LA Direct does. When girls want to leave, ATMLA, NexxtLevel or OCM don't block them, they only use their contracts to prevent other agencies from poaching girls from them. Of course you have you have to buy yourself out in any agency afaik but getting out of LA Direct contract is just on another level and may be followed by their owner's attempt to blacklist you and some directors/producers will probably listen since they need more new girls from him. One of their models is trying to break away from them but buyout price is close to 5k. With that kind of price you can only hope another agency will buy you out.
It's a tight, competitive game. When you look at matchmakers list of agencies (above) and then take out non-US and gay/male agencies, you have about 66 agencies booking girls. (Of course, Model Mayhem, Sexy Jobs and One Model Place aren't really agencies, but are more or less just bulletin boards.) Average working agencies have maybe 25 listed with 15 girls available aat any given time(?). Many just come to town a few times a year and shoot during their PASS test coverage (14 days) and then go home. That would suggest some 1,000 active girls. But when AIM's database was breached in 2011, there were 12,000 talent listed (male and female, active and in-active.) I made a separate list of studios that actually hire talent, and that number (while nowhere complete) comes to about 150. Of those, some hire (or buy) one or two scenes a month while others (MindGeek properties, ATK, etc) acquire perhaps 5-10 per week. There are also a considerable amount of scenes purchased from Europe (?). A VERY WILD guess, would be 15,000 (2*150*52) scenes per year in the USA. The top talent would get the most scenes, while a 'successful" run for a short-timer would be 30 scenes. I'm not sure the number of scenes a top-tier talent would shoot, but I would think 100-150 per year (?) If you put that 30 scenes as an average, you only have 500 (15,600/30) out of the 1,000 that would make much of anything, and by extension, the agents aren't making much. These figures are guess-ta-mates at best. Please feel free to correct them and attack my logic and math. I could see doing a masters thesis on this subject, but it wouldn't be easy. The data is really hidden well behind hype, bravado, mis-information and bull-shit. Bottom line, for me, is there aren't a whole lot of people making it in this business. Except, perhaps those that set their own course, like a Rob Simyar (FTV), and control most of the process.
I contacted Mark about booking some of his talent for a $1,000, 2-3 hour solo scene. He said he doesn't do business with anyone except major producers. I wonder if his talent appreciates him passing up $1,000 for solo masturbation scenes on their behalf?
That means he's a good agent. He's not going to send his girls to a stranger's house to find who knows what? If I was an agent, I wouldn't do business with anyone that offered me $1000 either if I didn't know them.
From what I've gathered there's not much hope of a straight male breaking into the business if he doesn't have a 10" dick. Shame. I'll have to wait & start my own website lol
Hmmm.. site of Ideal Image Models now only shows a very basic screen. I know they had to take down pics of one model because she requested that but this is overkill
^Is it really surprising? As you said yourself they lost their license and need 3 years to get another one so they can't work in LA. And even without that info, like I said, that agency has been worthless for a long time ever since Corey left them and took good portion of their roster with him, including big stars like Scarlet Red and Anna Foxx while most of their currently listed models being just placeholders - at this point shutting down seems like the logical decision.
I know.. even though they had a roster of like, 50 girls or so, if 1/10th of them was currently active, it would be a lot. Somehow Ideal Image was very good at chasing talent away from the industry. Still, it's management has pretended for at least 4 months now that nothing is wrong.. which is why I am surprised they shut down the whole site rather than just attempting to remove one model from their roster.
Makes sense, not sure why others don't do that. Though including pictures is more helpful - OCModeling shows their male talents' "length" right in their profiles.
^^ Obligatory Gia Paige, Charlotte Cross, Brittany Shae & Harlow Harrison Call Out Plush Talent Owner Scott Ohanian Unlicensed Plush Talent Owner Scott Ohanian Outs Performers Name & Address That guy keeps getting new clueless girls though they usually leave him very quickly. Whitney Wright is like the only model that stayed with him for more than few months. From Maci May thread about her experience with AdultStarMakers, AMA Modeling, 101Modeling, VIPConnect, Foxxmodeling, BlackRoseTalentVery close to what I thought about them. Model Layna Landry who worked with Bella from AdultStarMakers and Brian from AMA Modeling said they're one of sleaziest agents in Florida. 101 Modeling was bashed before for being desorganised and mistreating models. VIPConnect is like a shittier version of LA Direct with same insane contracts, shady escorting practices and bad treatment of unpopular models but without any superstars of LD level in their roster. Heard Foxxx owner is a nice guy but too lazy to get most of his models enough bookings. One new model who tried BlackRoseTalent said it was "miserable to say the least". The good thing is that Maci managed to avoid signing with agencies like Plush Talent and Glamour. Edited by - zaxmate on 2/7/2017 4:20:41 AM
^ Well, I posted her tweet in her thread few days before she disappeared - of course, it's just an empty link right now @AveryAdairXXX<brFuck LADirectWait, Spiegler doesn't work with Porno Dan? Not a fan but his content seems like a pretty standard live porn stuff.
You have some gorgeous women at your agency, but I'm not too crazy about the way they're designated "Model XXX" where "XXX" is a number. Don't they have names? They don't have to be their real names--this is porn, after all. _______________________
