I buy a lot of Red Light District material. Obviously I wouldnt buy it of I didnt like it. Dion has the porn fans that post here eating out of his hand. RLD get an absolute brilliant run of publicity out of Adult DVD Talk. Personally, although I like some of the product, and will continue to purchase, I get jack of the contined ass-kissing and raving about RLD titles.

In my opinion, if the company owner gets online and broadcasts to the public that he has done a deal to have Taylor Rain in gangbang and that it will be shot in October, and he doesnt fulfill that promise, then he has to be held accountable. Maybe it isnt Dions fault - quite possibly Taylor screwed him and made him look like an idiot on this, but then Dion, as a man with industry experience, should have kept his mouth shut till the scene was in the can.

I would have loved to have purchased the title, but life goes on! Taylor is hot but I feel her star is fading a little. Since the spotlight has been really turned up on her the added publicity has made her come across as not the brightest crayon in the box. Or maybe that is just the way Scott Fayner likes to portray her? Who knows? The girl is a total babe. Her body is awesome. She fucks great. Just the more I learn about her personality the more turned off I get.

Regarding that thread that Dion started where he (and Taylor Rain) asked for feedback about what fans would most like to see Taylor do in her gangbang movie, the fact that he even thought enough of ADTers to ask speaks volumes about Dion. Most studio heads would NEVER do that. They're not even open to such feedback (or at the very most, they don't solicit it). In that Taylor Rain thread when Dion noticed that several people were wanting to see her work with black guys, Dion went out of his way to try to persuade Taylor to include some black guys in her gangbang, even offering her a "sick" amount of money (presumably meaning a great deal of money). True, Taylor declined the offer and the whole thing was subsequently cancelled, but Dion did try his best on behalf of the fans. Dion is obsessed with giving porn fans what they want. The reason that he's so obsessed with it is that he realizes that it is the key to the great success of RLD (and the accompanying wealth and quality of life that he has achieved for himself and his family).

Dion has stated over and over again that at RLD, the customer is king (and then he continually backs it up). He has repeatedly credited the success of RLD with his willingness to listen to fans and then adopt their recommendations. ADTers are aware of this, and naturally show their appreciation. You see that as ass-kissing. Whatever. If you want to engage in trolling, fine.

Dion, it's a shame but I'm still a fan of RDL and am wondering now with Taylor out of the picture who the lucky girl is. I suggest to go with Katsumi. She's another recent fav of mine now and she takes on Erik and Lex in one of your movies with no problems at all.

If Dion wants to take contructive critisism on board like you say, then I offer my original thoughts in that he shouldnt be telling the porn world something is happening if it doesnt happen. Simple as that. and if you re-read my post, I also mention that it may not be his fault it got cancelled.

IF people want to take all the accolades and positive media then they should also be prepared to accept the negative reports and critisism when it all turns south.

BUt I knew when I posted what I did that surely someone would rush to the defense of poor old RLD.

Like I said - they make great porn. I buy their stuff. But the main man shouldnt get everyone excited by announcing deals and projects that never happen

It was your low number of posts combined with your seeming ignorance of some of the things that I pointed out in my post that made it seem to me that you hadn't been around at ADT long. Even then, I wasn't attacking you for it (I merely made an observation that turned out not to be true). My apologies for that wrong assumption.

I read this board usually twice a day, and have done so for the past 3 years. Prior to that I scanned rame for years and used to hang in the old pst on the irc network. I have been involved in this industry for over 9 years, and seen RLD evolve from their first release.

Dion announced what at the time he thought was a done deal. It later blew up in his face. Haven't you ever made a mistake? Attacking him for that is hardly what I think constitutes "constructive criticism." Plus, if Dion had followed your advice and "kept his mouth shut till the scene was in the can," then how could he have solicited suggestions from the fans on what they wanted to see in Taylor's gangbang, and then incorporate those suggestions into the scene as best he could?

I never said otherwise. Ever since Dion has been posting here, I've observed that he takes negative feedback as well as he takes positive feedback. There's only one time I recall him not taking negative feedback well. That was when someone criticized him for not casting "fresh girls" in RLD movies. In fact, RLD goes all out of their way to get and use fresh girls in their movies on a regular basis. Dion responded and chastised the person who expressed that criticism only because that criticism was not true at all. After reading Dion's reply, the person who expressed that criticism realized that he was mistakened, and apologized to Dion. As far as I can tell, Dion takes criticism much better than most people do. In fact, he welcomes all constructive feedback, negative or positive.

There's a big difference between expressing constructive criticism and trolling. In my opinion, you were engaging in trolling (the whole point of which is to spark a reaction). Hence, you should have known in advance that you would likely get one. At least you weren't disappointed.

Everything is an "if" until the shoot is done, always. I'm betting Taylor got a great deal with Legend, and why compromise that? Truth is, and we all know it, that the way porn careers go she could work at Legend for six months or a year and decide she's threw with the business -- or maybe she'll become a megastar, who knows? If she holds that gang bang in reserve, the scale could jump thru the roof by the time she decides to stage a "retirement party." Get my drift? I think she's just doing smart business.
