I contacted them and was told it was my problem as they hadn't done anything other than prohibit download managers with acceleration. Fair enough, as I was using Internet Download Manager. To compare, I disabled IDM and tried downloading from other sites - several Gamma sites and several independent sites. Without IDM the download speeds dropped but they were still pretty good and certainly acceptable in 2021. But when I tried downloading anything from Team Skeet it was painfully slow. I'm talking 1/50th of the unaccelerated speeds at other sites, and there were long periods of up to a minute when the download would simply stop.
But, like you with your issue, support doesn't really support subscribers. I got nowhere with them and gave up. Unless someone eventually confirms that Team Skeet has fixed their issue then it's unlikely I'll ever join again. But I also think that it could just be me. Maybe my ISP was flagged by them. I've posed this speed question elsewhere and no one has ever responded. It may be that is no one is experiencing this then they don't bother to say that their speeds are fine.
^ Thanks for replying. With acceleration on most sites I can get 90+ MB/s. When I turn off acceleration I can still get 30-40 MB/s from those same sites. On a good day I could see 4-5 MB/s on Team Skeet but good days were rare. On really, really rare occasions, and not ever twice in a row, I could see 25 MB/s. In most cases if I did see 25 it was for a short and partial burst within a file download. Usually the best I could get from TS was between 1-2 MB/s. And that was without taking into account the lengthy pauses in the downloads at any speed.
I'm really thinking that I somehow got blacklisted by them, which is odd. All I'd usually do is join Daughter Swap every few months and get the latest updates. On those times I rejoined DS I might DL 20GB per month.
Oh well. DS had gone downhill so I won't miss them that much.
