I ask this because I've just looked at a few of my dvd discs and noted there are scratches. I'm very careful with them, so I don't know where the scratches came from. They're not affecting the picture quality, I just wondered if scratches indicate damage to the disc, to the degree that it won't be long before the picture shows signs of age.
