She was one of my favorites. Anyone know about this?

Well, it looks like you are right. Wikipedia says she passed away on October 11, 2017 whereas IMDB says she passed away on October 10, 2017. IMDB did add that the cause of death was cancer. Haven't found anymore info yet.

Based On Pierre Woodman. She had been sick for the last seven years. 38 is simply too young to die but maybe in this case it may be a blessing in disguise because being sick for seven years is a very long time to suffer.
