According to some gossip sites (I think Luke Ford) Tera just got married and is outta the biz. Oh well, she was hot, but hasn't made but 2 movies in 2 years. She coulda been one of the greatest of all time, but her short tenure will make her just another footnote in porn history.
Ho hum. See ya! I'm glad she was able to use the business to propel herself into some lucrative franchises for herself. But she exemplified the boring "mainstream" "porn" "star" I think. She was something to see in her early sorta-gonzo appearances, but after that ... I never bothered.
I don't read gossip sites (lukeford.com seems pretty worthless), but even if true...you know how those celebrity marriages are - it'll probably be over in 18 months and suddenly she'll be looking for a job again...
Tera Patrick has ALWAYS been out of the business anyway. She never qualified as a star in my opinion, she was beautiful is all. What qualifies as porn star is duration, consistent work, stretching your bases once in a while (anal here'n there for your fans, fetish work but not systematic), quality performances & open-mindedness. Like Janine, she was a beautiful model, but certainly not a star. Ashlyn Gere is a porn star, Briana Banks is a porn star, Amber Lynn is a porn star, Nikita Denise , Chloe , Julie Meadows , you name'em. Tera was just a convention wonder.

I personally think Tera Patrick was a porn star. Maybe not in the same league as some of the all-time greats, but she had sex on film, and that's what she was known for. Don't know what else a girl has to do. Plus she never failed to turn me on. She sure turns me on a lot more than some of the girls who come out in a new movie every month and do a lot nastier sex.
When the news first got out that she was getting married, there were reports that she was going to keep her contract with Digital Playground and still make movies. So that's not true anymore?

Well, not exactly.
Was she egotistical, or was it mainly studio PR hype that we saw? The studio spent tons to promote her. From the few interviews and stuff I've seen, she seems to be educated and well spoken.
I would blame it on studio hype. My two cents anyway.

I agree with manetho, of course she was a pornostar, she did anal once, and did a lot of other things early in her career. Like most contract girls, she slowed down and her movies got less good as time went on, but for a lot of guys she was the best of the era. I agree though, that she spent WAY too much time not having sex on camera, basically she put out fewer pornos than most mainstream actors put out movies. Also, I think there was some type of "confusion" between Tera and DP, and maybe they want her to continue and she doesn't or somethign to that effect. (Who can blame DP, they spent tons hyping her up, and now she's gone. But that's the way it goes.)
