| ExperimentalGuy Member UK 191 Posts 4/04 | After reading the Get to Know Your Reviewer, it seems to me that roughness is not really very popular. So the likes of Joey Silvera, Skeeter Kerkove (don't take this the wrong way) and Nacho Vidal, among others should sit up and take note. We don't want to see these girls abused and degraded. We want to see them enjoy sex! I know a lot of directors out there like to push the envelope, and that's fine...but really, seeing a girl being fake stangled, choked, slapped around - it's not a turn on, and it does not belong in porn. Don't get me wrong, I can dig the master / slave stuff and the rubber, the s&m, but when it starts to look scary...no thankyou. I'm sure you all know what I mean. I can't stand that stuff either so I stay away from just about all new gonzo. I won't even consider RLD and the like for a second. Many others seem to like and buy it though. I'll just stick with features and some of the sillier titles from Kick Ass and a few amateur titles from Pixie's. |
| RLD Fiend Member Cincinnati, O. 665 Posts 10/04 | I really do think, though, that the reactions to this supposed "choking/slapping" stuff is a little silly and overblown. I have seen dozens of RLD titles, lots of new gonzo, and enjoy a lot of rough sex, but this kind of stuff really is not as prevalent as people think!!! A lot of what people call slapping is maybe an actor tapping a girl's face with his open palm. It wouldn't bruise a small hamster. I really haven't seen a lot of choking, either. Maybe Mr. Pete's hand around a girl's neck while he is aggressively doing her. I can think of only a couple scenes with "real" choking, Paris in "Assault That Ass", and Crystal Ray from JM's "Tough Love," which is an explicitly rough sex line. Honestly, I've seen only 2 scenes with "real" slapping in my entire life- Crystalyn (pretty overweight) from Extreme's "Cum Catchers" and Gia Regency from "Slap Happy" whose scene is ruined by hot lighting. So, there you have it, two unwatchable scenes from 4 years ago with some slapping. Sounds threatening to me. Please, all you detractors of this rough sex, please give specific examples of scenes you have seen which feature "realistic" violence, choking and slapping, or scenes which "cross the line." ExperimentalGuy, please give examples of scenes that "blur the lines over what is and is not consented" because I've never seen 'em, but would probably like to! Even Melissa Lauren's infamous romp in "Un-Natural Sex 12" didn't have any real slapping or choking, maybe Steve Holmes' hand gently caressing her face! With the possible exception of: I really don't see the wide-spread prevalence of this kind of stuff. :-) |
| DP Jones Member 511 Posts 10/03 | Sometimes things do go too far,I really think it's up to the director/producer to determine how far they are willing to go and if they are going to stand behind the product whatever may come. As for the rough stuff,I like it.I like it even better when the girls give as much as they get,but those women are few. I think as far as American porn is concerned, there is some type of limit.Rob Black,to me,went too far, people like him were so obsessed with wanting to shock they forgot how to shoot good old smut, and look where he is now.Brandon Irons pushed things with Slap Happy, which had the brakes put on that series fairly quickly. Most people know the Anabolic Rough Sex story, although compared to stuff that has come since, alot of it seems tame. I don't mind rough stuff,to me it's about domination and just the no holds barred rawnesss of sex.The people who make a point of degrading the woman by namecalling(in video or on boxcover)and other humiliating devices I don't care for.And they know who they are anyway....... |

I know rough stuff isn t for everyone, and, Experimentalguy, i understand your point. However, there IS a market for rough sex. So i ll conclude saying : if you like features, good for you. |
| cancel Member LA 188 Posts 9/04 | The bottom line is that many people's tastes and distastes should not be inflicted upon others. I love hard rough sex, and I do not want to see it disappear. lANCE cUMMING |

| PL Senior Member God hates us all, you know it's true, God hates this place. - Slayer 1726 Posts 10/03 | I like rough sex. I don't like extreme rough stuff, but anything by Manuel Ferrara, Brandon Iron or Mason I dig... Manuel is easily my favorite male because the slapping and choking he does in his scenes seems to come from his feel for the scene. Meaning he feels the girl(s) like it so he does it, usually resulting in a hot scene. Now on the other hand I DO NOT like Nacho. I think he just has too much anger vs. Manuel or Brandon's passion for the act. *sigh* - it's hard to explain really but over all I like rough sex in movies, I guess that's my point... |

| ExperimentalGuy Member UK 191 Posts 4/04 | To conclude: I guess I am still learning what I can handle seeing, and was wondering how everyone else felt regarding the rough stuff. I think we have had an interesting discussion here. To Melissa Lauren - as a bit of a learner at all this porn stuff, I am still testing my limits, and just getting a response from a real life porn queen was really great - two thumbs up!! |

If you have the desire to see women in 'non consented looking' pain you are mentally disturbed. If a DVD is produced/cut in a way the viewer has to think something 'non consensual' is going on it doesn't matter anymore if the talents actually enjoyed their performance. Besides I know first hand sometimes things do happen that are not consented , even if they seem as 'harmless' as spitting. I still struggle wether or not I should give examples since I don't want to animate some psychos to rush out and buy this scum. As long as those sicko producers stay in their holes and don't publicly praise their hate shit I might keep calm, on the other hand if you provoke me it may get very dirty in here soon. |
| melissalauren Melissa Lauren 834 Posts 2/04 | But hey, where and how can you draw a line of what is "normal" and what is "disturbed"? People have different tastes in every domain, including sex. Some love recieving pain, some love giving it, some like softcore,...there s a variety for everybody. You are talking about things that happen in scenes and aren t consented. How can you tell it wasn't? And, don t the talent have a mouth so they can stop the scene when something's wrong? I m just amused of seeing everywhere "oh poor girl she get slapped, spit on..." hey come on, if they were so traumatized by it they wouldn t do it or stay in this industry. | melissalauren Melissa Lauren 834 Posts 2/04 | Ok let s talk about being disturbed. Recently i ve noticed some threads where people are asking repeated ass to pussy. Isn t it disturbed to want to see a woman doing repeated ass to pussy? Isn t it disturbed to wanna see her getting hurt for life indirectly? Isn t it disturbed to watch non-condom porn? cause you all know what we risk (but we are willing to take this risk, right?) Isn t it disturbed to ask what movie is the Darren James - Lara Roxxx scene gonna be in (yeah i ve seen that) Porn is full of disturbed acts. Now if someone isn t self conscious enough to say "stop" when something is going too far for her/him in a scenes, well HE/SHE is disturbed. But hey...what is disturbed anyway??? How can you tell someone is or isnt? It s all about different personalities and tastes. |

I asked her before the scene what she was ok with and what she didn t want. She told me not to slap her. That scene was rough the all time but i ve never slapped her. It s called respect. Each performer has to know his/her own limits and make people respect them. At any price. If you don t have enough respect for yourself to not do something you re totally not cool with, that s another issue. |
| cancel Member LA 188 Posts 9/04 | I will never impose my beliefs on others. They have to make up their own minds about what they do and do not do. But do not judge what you think is weird or bizarre and expect me to subscribe to your interpretations. I have some real life experiences that would scare the shit out of you. I am not demented because I like rough sex. I am also the most romantic guy on the planet. I know a girl in the biz who I would fuck in her ass, spit on her face, slap her, and she would scream "HATE ME!" at the top of her lungs. And then we would fall asleep in each other's arms after saying I love you. You have to see the entire context, and I think many forget about that. lANCE cUMMING |
| Hardware All-Star Member Your other left 14594 Posts 3/02 | The intent of the director doesn't always jibe with the perception of the viewer. I'm not suggesting that some directors don't intend a misogynistic message, but that portraying rough sex shouldn't be considered as such automatically. As for Melissa's comments about fans asking for dangerous acts to be performed, is the thrill derived from the danger, or simply the 'nastiness' factor? Think of it like this - is the only thrill in watching auto racing the possibility of a driver dying in a crash? |

I really wonder, if you make some rules what is okay and what is not and someone else you trust breaks them and spits in your face then it is your own fault coz you don't have enough respect for yourself? |

Women and men are equal partners in sex . That means that both the rights and the responsabilities for healthy behaviour are shared . Saying that "the girl enjoys it so what is the problem" shows a total lack of true respect for women in my view , because it denies women the ability to make mistakes . In that viewpoint women have no power to do harm - which is a pretty fucked up way of seeing women ! Just because you enjoy something doesn't make it right . We all learn that as children , and it's no different if you have a penis or don't . Some of these women may enjoy the abusive behaviour , but that doesn't make what they are doing right . And yes , ass to pussy is one of those things you learn real early on not to do . The people who are asking for it have either not had much sex themselves or just get off on seing women close to infection ( or both ) . That's pretty fucked up too . |
| oatmeal Meat Popsicle Seeking Beauty 1738 Posts 8/04 | If you need gimmicks or props to get off you're not doing something right, but that's my opinion. I still find vanilla sex intensely satisfying. People are free to film each other having sex while beating each other with live cats for all I care, of course PETA would be on your case then. I simply would like a warning on the box that the disc includes rough and/or degrading sexual material. And I'm not talking about just physical abuse but verbal as well. That includes some of the idiotic and condescending comments in interviews. If that's there then I know I won't like it, no harm no foul.
For example, a female performer (from A talent to D talent, no one should be treated differently based on their potential sales) says yes to a request without voicing opinion because she fears for her job. Feeling that if she said no she would be blacklisted. Would the industry stick up for this performer? |
| melissalauren Melissa Lauren 834 Posts 2/04 | sincerely i don t mind the scat/zoo/pissing stuff. Theres a market for everything. Some are more fucked up maybe than others, but yeah there will still be people masturbating to it. Edited by - melissalauren on 11/1/2004 4:11:05 PM |

But since the first sentence goes First of all, communicate. I know, some <censored by Zartyr> will of course say, that negotiotion beforehand is not feasible in the porn business. BTW, I ACK to X-Ray, and Full Ack if you change misogynistic to misanthropic. |
