Just tried it. Appeared to work fine.

But, by what method were you trying to use it? Web based java? I don't know about that. I used mIRC and it logged in normally.

I just clicked the link on the left that says "chat room" and nothing happens???

I don't know how to use mirc but I think my computer has java... Once in a while I get message saying java updates are ready for your computer???

Sorry I'm not that computer savy :(

Just tried it. It is requiring some plug-in that I don't have, so I can't comment on whether or not it is working.
Maybe somebody else reading this can try it for you.
It is a program that you can download. IRC chat program. Free. www.mirc.org or www.mirc.com.
Like a lot of programs, once you download it, install it, set it up and get it working the way you want it to, from then on it is just a couple clicks to use it. It is really easy to get it going, or at least that has been my experience on various Windows computers. Not much to it.
No problem. :) I'm not the java guy myself either, so I can't comment on that.

The chat room requires an updated version of Java. That's why your computer is trying to download the updates. The chat room runs as a Java applet within your browser. It's known to work properly with Internet Explorer and Firefox. Which web browser are you using?

BTW, don't be surprised if there's no one in there if/when you finally get in.

[invalid URL removed]Opera is a browser that has built in iRC functionality. You just chat in another tabbed window.
