Oh wow..I have never shot a scene without having all performers sign paper work first. That's like a basic rule. This way whatever happens I still have the right to use whatever I want. It's a simple matter of leverage, if you don't sign you don't perform. If for some reason they work without first signing off on it then they don't get paid for the work unless they have signed off on it. No director wants to have the situation occur where they have paid the talent but don't have a signed release, it's much harder to chase down talent for a signature, than it is to have the talent chasing you for money. They always come for money (oops no pun intended)

Try to keep up will ya...they dont get paid till they sign. Laws in GA where I shoot are different than LA What I do works fine for me, never had a problem and it keeps me out of an orange jumpsuit. The basic rule is you get a knowledgeable attorney and you do what he tells you to do so that should he end up defending you he has what he needs to work with.

Even as a porn consumer, I used to make the distinction between prostitute and porn performer in my head. I don't do that anymore. It took me awhile to see it though. All that hair, make-up, graphic-heavy boxcovers, modeling, "events" and interviews threw me for a loop - the marketing and PR basically. Porn stars are the super-fancy show horse variety of sex worker. Many of them still do not like to be thought of as prostitutes. I respect the ones that acknowledge that they are a form of prostitute. At least they aren't in denial. Thanks for your post Janine. All parties involved in sex acts are AIM tested. All parties involved in sex acts have a choice in refusal of sex partner or sex acts. Higher compensation. The fact that it will be on DVD or Web. Residual income based on a scene. Your parents would rather see you do porn than hook on a corner. I am not really defending the facts that it is pretty much the same thing,there are still pimps involved with a lot of talent,especially the really young naive ones.Someone is always getting a piece of what you make,theres always someone that will make an attempt at pressuring or strong arming you into shit you don't want to do with promises of money. Sex for Money -- for the most part, California = porn if theres a model release with the intent of commercial distribution and the person paying isnt receiving sexual gratification (Freeman), every where else = prostitution. Perhaps there will be another state (FL) that finds that content production is protected speech, but not yet. From a purely legal standpoint it actually seems to be against every legal doctrine that this country was founded on for the sale of sex to be illegal. I can give you sex for free all I want but I can't sell it? Makes no sense at all but then neither does making it illegal to grow a plant. Funny that in the land that we call the worlds beacon of freedom over 1 in 4 of us are in jail, over half those for non violent crimes....but you can bet the offenders will be violent when they get out...you reap what you sow people. We should fire every politician and start fresh the system has become nothing more than a turd bucket
Remember, sex outside of a legally and religiously recognized union was called adultery for the most part, and until recently in the US, was illegal. So even free sex was not sanctioned or legal previously. Also remember all the laws against sodomy, that have recently been used against gay & lesbian intimacy and sexual relations.
