MOD: The endless stream of people bitching about OnlyFans in threads has gotten old and makes it hard for people to have discussions. If you need to bitch about OnlyFans, there is literally a thread to do so here.. Posts made that are complaints that so and so are only on OF, I won't sub to OF, etc will be removed and a minimum of a seven day vacation will be handed out.

^Covid caused major issues with porn production and likely helped increase traffic to OF but the real reason for the state of the porn industry as a whole is still the same. Tube and torrent sites have always been the primary reason for why the industry is where it is now and since they are as prevalent today as they were a decade a go then why would anything be not worse?
I know many people blame OF but frankly there was MyFreeCams and similar platforms long before OF and the industry was thriving anyway. It's a simple equation. If producer "A" makes 10,000$ a month distributing his own porn and it cost him 10,000$ to make it then producer "A" has in fact not made a penny in profit. Worse since he has to eat and sleep somewhere then he is is losing money. That is why studios are slowing down production, significantly lowering their production cost or closing their doors. You can blame whomever you want but as long as people don't want to pay for porn then the people making it will stop producing it.

Could be worse. Imagine the thing that gets you off is two women having sex. The industry is giving us next to nothing, maybe 3 sexy shoots a month, in the lucky months. 😅
Porn keeps pushing the limits, or more accurately, sets new norms. By doing so, it gets farther and farther from the core of what porn was. It's no different than changing rules in sports to keep people interested/bring in new viewers. In the end, they are just ruining the game. Same with porn. I'd say, just get back to the basics, but real actor porn days are numbered. In a few years, we will be the ones creating porn, and it won't be with real actors.

But where do you see that in US Porn? Yes, EU Porn was pretty wild for a while. But US porn didn't cross any boundaries or shoot anything absurd. You shouldn't equate the cheap trash that makes up a large part of the scenes with extreme sex.
US Porn has been going around in circles for 20 years and refuses to adapt. And stagnation is the beginning of irrelevance.
It seems like studios are pushing for a more homogenized approach to content these days. Back between 2008 and 2016, even into 2020, each studio or site had its own unique style and visual appeal. Sweet Sinner, Sweetheart Video, Girlfriends Films, Fantasy HD, HDLove, WeLiveTogether, EroticaX, Vixen, and so on-all of them offered something distinct, giving viewers a different flavor with each. Now, though, it feels like most of these studios are churning out the same kind of content. Same camera setups, similar visual styles, lots of POV and close-ups, repetitive positions, and almost robotic performances. It's really disappointing. For some reason, it seems like the people running the industry are determined to strip away everything that made these studios stand out. Take WeLiveTogether, for example-they've ruined it. Now, there are very few natural performers, they're caked in makeup, and there's zero chemistry. The scenes with Malena Morgan, in contrast, were incredible and timeless. It also feels like the performers aren't putting their best effort into these scenes, possibly saving it for their own content on OF. It seems like we're unlikely to ever return to the golden days of these studios.

In all of the time I have watched porn I have never found the majority of material the industry produces to be of any interest to me. That fact doesn't bother me in the slightest, though. What remains is more than enough.
Im glad someone made a post about this because I have noticed the decline in mainstream for a couple years now. It's the talent, not the production / websites that are the issue. Not enough attractive women are interested in doing mainstream anymore. The quality of the male talent has also decreased, they aren't cut from the same cloth as the more well know guys we all know of (Manuel Ferrara or Mick Blue). It's hard for me to understand why new websites keep popping up when there isn't enough talent to shoot which makes the scenes feel repetitive. IMO the industry needs to re-think how everything is structured. The model of old guy agents that have been involved in porn for 20+ years trying to recruit young attractive women into the industry is over. With all do respect the top agent in the industry is like 66 YEARS OLD. How in the world is he going to relate to a Sophie Rain or a Lily Phillips? All the attractive girls are going to OF not only because of the money but because of the appeal. Creators INC is probably the largest most well know OF agency around and its because they understand how to market towards the right demographic. Ive seen the LA / Miami mansion parties they hold on Twitch and they are cool and fun. You have to understand how to brand and market nowadays. Pornstars are evolving into more than just having sex on film. They are content creators now with legit brands and they need someone who knows how to make their brand as big as possible. Old guys that don't understand technology can't do that. No offense to people over the age of 60 BTW, Im just trying to make a point about what Ive noticed.
Another issue is there are too many sites producing too many scenes on a daily basis so it's impossible to think of creative ideas for scenes. For example, half of the scenes released per week are around the same exact topic, step family. Who actually watches that stuff?? Am I the only one who thinks it's just weird?? I understand people have kinks but cmon, does every site need to make this type of content?? The industry needs to reduce the amount of scenes being released and go back to the old way of doing things where everyone was signed to contracts because there are not enough new girls to keep up. Does Brazzers really need to release a scene every day?? Why not only release a scene every other day and take the extra money and put it towards signing top level talent that no one has seen shoot mainstream before?? These girls nowadays aren't trying to be the next Abella Danger or Gianna Dior and shoot 100+ scenes in a year, they want to film just enough to drive traffic back to their social media profiles and make residual income on OF. And I'm all for that, they should be able to make money off their brand, it's similar to the whole NIL topic in college sports right now. But my point is mainstream will become extinct if they do not learn to evolve & adapt to the new way of doing things.
It also doesn't help that AVN doesn't want to award the girls who actually deserve POTY. The last two winners were an absolute joke compared to the field. I might be alone on that statement but I think there were several other girls that were way better. Why would someone want to stay in an industry if they don't get recognized for their hard work?
I agree that studio porn is going through some changes and most of it is repetitive.
...But I'm NOT going to say porn is dead - it's just moved to OnlyFans. If performers are getting bigger pay packets, safer environments to work in and have control of their own content, how can that be a bad thing? I know a lot of OF content is poor quality, but some performers have invested heavily in studio equipment, lighting and audio. Dare I say it, but Bonnie Blue and Lily Philips have better production values than any studio I can name right now.
Where do you think the stars of WIFEY have come from? They all have their own fan bases on the streaming sites.
My only concern is that OF is so dominant now that they risk becoming the only source of porn and may start flexing their muscle over the content, pricing and terms of use.
Support performers that produce quality content no matter where you find it.

I agree with all of this and I would go a step further in saying that it's almost like some studios don't trust the talent to put on a damn good scene on their own, hitting all the right angles yet still allowing for those involved to reach a happy orgasm as opposed to one that is exaggerated if not outright faked. There's a shrinking percentage of all new talent that has the hunger, the drive and the ambition to not just go from adult performer to pornstar but to make themselves indispensable to studios. I find many end up quitting/retiring just as they start gaining traction and credibility, proving that they are more than just a pretty face and far from an accidental success. Admittedly this seems to affect the under 25 crowd more than the over 25 and 30+ beginniners, I hinted at this on a different thread - that 30+ are the unsung, underrated heroines of the industry and it's high time to invest in them accordingly. The only problem with a number of adult performers in the 18-21 range is that some start with a certain young look that changes either dramatically or in not so severe a fashion that arrests their marketability because they never developed beyond their looks to still thrive even as they get older. A few great examples of adult performers whose performances and presence remained awesome even as they grew up to the point where they are still going strong are Maddy O'Reilly, Kali Roses, Rebel Lynn, Lilly Hall. They have defied the expectations and continue to get booked regularly. A uniform or paint by numbers approach to porn is guaranteed to start backfiring especially with I suspect, a far greater number of people agreeing with our assessment of where things are at. Too many performers and not enough pornstars you say? More like too many people who despite having the internet and far greater resources, still refuse to do significant research before entering the business and find out it's not for them or worse, you get those seeking to 'find themselves' in the business only to get victimized or have a bad experience that has them beating a hasty retreat. I am not defending those who prey on newbies mind you but those who have either far fewer or almost no bad experiences all set clear boundaries and aren't afraid to be their own advocate. Chemistry, connection is the allspice of good and great porn scenes; the worst ones I see often lack that and genuine passion/enthusiasm among other things and those are that most memorable have a surplus of that for performers to work off of. I will always take quality over quantity unfortunately you have a vocal majority who is all about the next scene. Does not matter if the talent has 200 scenes or upwards of 600, all that matters is when is the next scene coming out. Perhaps the funniest thing is when a performer leaves the industry for a few years, teases a comeback for an extended period time only to discover that their return is worthy of a single headline and not much more because there's hundreds of hungry newcomers who have long since taken her spot leaving her to trickle out scenes for two or three years before calling it quits for good.

particularly when 'what remains' includes porn's amazingly extensive historical library. I agree with the OP post here but also find I can keep myself perpetually entertained by discovering and rediscovering old stuff. Actually, my main fear in life is that the front-door sites one day carry out some massive cull of old scenes. please puh-leeze never do that.

The rule of technology is that it develops ahead of the ability of anyone to police it; when it comes to the US - digital safety and security is a joke. From the Equifax breach to the latest one at AT&T and you think that Onlyfans is going to be the exception to the rule. If studio porn somehow crashed, the volume of OF leaks and cyber criminals hacking the site would both skyrocket well ahead of their capacity to rein it all in. In an astonishing parallel: both the mainstream entertainment industry and the adult industry are suffering from a similar dilemma, costumers have figured out how to consume the product without paying a dime which should and to some extent does, put an increasing amount of pressure on various studios along with media companies to produce a higher quality product that people will be willing to pay for. There are two exceptions in both industries to this: mainstream entertainment theatres are sacred ground because you go to a play or music for that live human experience that can't be reduced to megabytes while the adult industry has webcams which offer the closest thing to a similar experience. That connection, that genuine human interaction that can't be replicated even if someone downloaded a stream because the thrill comes from communicating with a live person. I know because years ago, I joined a webcam site and I came across the sensational Sinn Sage. I kid you not when I tell you my jaw was on the floor when her name popped up because most of the people on the sites are amateurs rather than professional performers. If the industry wants to keep people paying for their porn, the quality should go up and everyone should have their own unique flavor that only they can bring to the screen. That's part of what made GFF a titan of G/G for such a long time, nobody was going G/G scenes like that which allowed it to become such a powerful brand. The same rings true these days of the VMG brands as they own the 'artcore' porn label which nobody has been able to duplicate.
^that's interesting, great post. So therefore in mainstream you get the sopranos and madmen. I wonder why in rock and roll, which had an identical debasement of incentives due to essentially free streaming, no such concentration of quality has occurred. In porn another factor must be at work, namely the big expansion of the market in which hotness is monetized, ie social media, where beautiful women need not stoop to having sex on camera. Instagram killed the pornstar imo.

I'm ok with the idea that people will only want to pay for prestige porn, but I don't want porn to look like Mad Men and Sopranos. The sooner there are gyroscopic AI camera robots so that we can get good angles with the two people having sex as the only folks on premise in someone's bedroom studio, the better. Overproduction in something that 1% of the people who watch it will pay anything for is bound to be an issue lol. Plus, it encourages all the annoying cartoon character stuff.
Just give me two chicks who can enjoy sex while being recorded without all the extra BS i.e. washing machines, scripts, non-sex dialogue, bedless porn sets, etc.
"Oooh let's fuck on this kitchen counter. Oooh it feels so good when you do that yes yes yes yes yes." Fuck off.
Porn is like the NBA right now. I don't need to see the league's determined favorite players pretend to get knocked on the ground so they can shoot fifty-eleven unearned free throws every game so they can artificially score 35 points every game and the total combined points from both teams can be 300 with 115 3-point attempts. Just record basketball. It doesn't need glamification and circus production. There aren't enough straight-up, no frills basketball options coming out of the studios right now. The more all of this World Wrestling Entertainment bullshit is pirated instead of paid, the better, in my opinion. And I say that as someone who pays for porn.

According to Google: 'Streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, and others have become the dominant way people consume music, offering both free, ad-supported and subscription-based models.' The keyword there is free and subscription based models, imagine if studios were to raise their game and create both free scenes along with those on a subscription level. That would be a heck of way to offset the losses. With all due respect to this sentence 'Just give me two chicks who can enjoy sex while being recorded without all the extra BS i.e. washing machines, scripts, non-sex dialogue, bedless porn sets, etc, I've seen amateur porn from AbbyWinters to WeLikeGirls project to Bellesa House and I prefer the Bellesa House presentation. There was a webcam site called RealLifeCam that used to show up in pop up windows which featured an entirely voyeuristic on par with what you describe. They are eating, sleeping, showering, shagging in view of a variety of cameras placed with apartments, when I would stumble upon a couple having sex - it was the most boring thing to watch. I would have rather watched a hairy man get one of those wax jobs where they use the wax on the head, the face, the chest, back and even the ass because it would have been more exciting to watch. Do I have issues with overly ridiculous porn scenes? Absolutely, I love to watch the body language and the excitement building in every breath they take, every squirm, moan or shiver. But I freely admit that watching civilian sex is underwhelming for me. There's a few AbbyWinters models that have the gift of performance or the ability to strike a chord that gets one going. I do agree that overproduction is an issue and I feel like if you want an example of how quality makes all the difference: AllHerluv and MissaX are just absolutely killing it in most of their scenes because they have mastered how to keep it as realistic as possible YET still retain a performative aspect without compromising the orgasmic bliss and sexual excitement of the performers. Is every scene perfect? No, sometimes even they strike out but I've seen more diamonds than coal so far.

We are watching for different things. I am watching, well, ideally anyway lol, to see people get off. If I see circus stuff or anything asking me to "suspend disbelief" I am 97% likely clicking the X button. I'm watching porn for the sex, ideally with attractive bodies and minds that are capable of projecting the idea that they enjoy sex with women and do it as a regular normal part of life. AllHerluv, Girlsway, Girlsonlyporn, Sweetheart Video, GirlGirlXXX...all of that mess is nearly-identical rote cartoon character junk at the exact same quality. Boil it all down to some retarded dialogue about how abnormal and awful two women having sex is, mostly with performers who think the same and are bad at pretending otherwise, throw in constant cat-screeching and canned porn catchphrases, lots and lots of botched surgeries (videos of just people who still have their tits are increasingly rare), and add the occasional shot of someone pissing on furniture and you've got the broad swatch of what these sites are putting out. There is plenty of that stuff; this is a golden age of it, and not so much a lower point or downfall.
For me, it is the sex itself, that is exciting, and there is not much akin to new sex videos to watch out there. Anything taking away from the naked ladies interacting with each others' bodies as if they like it is a sharp negative and today's content is full of sharp negatives.
Right now, Excogigirls has occasional good stuff. Girlfriendsfilms could get back to being watchable by removing the horrible attempts at melodrama or "camp" or whatever they call that writing and by hiring a handful of experienced performers who are A-OK with GG experiences to lead the site and have pleasant and fairly normal interactions with all the new performers popping up over there...basically make it another Excogigirls lol. I do like Bellesa House and SexArt on occasion, but their casting can be dreadful at times and GG shoots are rare, so maintaining a sub at those is pointless. Gotta check them every 5 months at this rate.
Overall, occasional good things from Excogigirls and Bellesa, the circus/cartoon stuff that dominates industry's output is 110% pirate-worthy.
Also, studios mostly do create free videos. I think most of the big studios have a free pornhub presence, whether they like having it or not.
As a porn fanatic of several decades standing, I can't believe I'd literally never heard of Bonnie Blue until inadvertently stumbling across her Channel 4 (UK) documentary the other night. Then again, I don't do OF; never have and no intention of starting. Bewildering to me why there's such a demand to watch amateurs (by which I mean most of the participants in these stunts) shagging but, hey, to each his own.

Back in 2012 the International Journal of Sexual Health published an article on findings in which 176 porn actresses were surveyed. Here are the results:
In 2025, a top research firm reported the industry (NOT including OnlyFans) generated $1.3 billion in annual revenue. OnlyFans on the other hand generated a whopping $6.6 billion in revenue. There are THOUSANDS of women who get into porn for one reason or another and the main driver is MONEY. Only the top ~5% make enough to earn a decent living. In short, due to technology there are many other avenues for women to make money on their own terms if they need to use 'sex' to earn a living, so why do porn in the first place? It's pretty clear, with OnlyFans dwarfing mainstream porn in revenue that porn as we knew it is on its last legs. And don't go off on listing a handful of porn stars who are relatively rich and happy - that's the exception not the norm, same as any other industry.
I think with any industry it has its downfall!! If you are talking about porn right now. Yes it's declining, I put a lot of blame on the industry it's self because of the tube sites that are free and the decline of the DVDS, because nobody wants to purchase physical disc and just pay for streaming scenes on streaming sites. I don't mind having a balance of purchasing DVDs and streaming sites it's best for both worlds, but it doesn't seem like that. I think the good times came to an end during COVID and it never reclaimed its glory days.
I disagree on the free Tube sites being the culprit. I spend MORE on porn because of them. Something there interests me, so I join to get the whole thing or see it in better quality. Exactly the way it's supposed to work. My 2 Cents: Legit porn sites would greatly increase total revenues by abandoning the "Recurring Subscription" model. Be honest: have you ever needed more than 30 days to mine a site of all current items of interest? I'd prefer a one-time 30 day arrangement, then re-up in 6 mos or a year to see what's new. Hey-- I have money to spend on this stuff, but refuse to being manipulated (tricked?) into unnecessary/unwanted purchases. You can't have too many, or it becomes very difficult to keep track of. If I have to "agree" to let them automatically hit my card monthly, then require me to jump through all kind of hoops to UN-subcribe, I'm going to severely limit the subs I have going at any one time. No matter what the product, such a practice is not conducive to a consumer wanting to purchase MORE of it. As a result, the reputation level of porn sites among credit card issuers is sub-dog-crap. The number of charge-backs is UNREAL. And recurring subscriptions are a big part of it. ("Customer Service? Hey, I only paid for a month of this and they keep CHARGING me!) Change this-- and thrive.

Tbf, I apply this philosophy to all subscription services - not just adult sites. Always wondered who keeps a sub continuously rolling, unless money is no object. As an aside, maybe I've just been lucky but I've never once had an issue with cancellation. Were I ever to do so, that site would never see another penny of my money. Amazes me when I read the horror stories some people have about this; surely it just isn't in a company's interests not to facilitate easy cancellation?
About 20 years ago, I had problems with a particular site that wouldn't let me cancel a subscription. I don't remember what it was but it only had picture-sets (no videos). This was only my second ever site to subscribe to but the experience put me off signing up to other pay-sites and after that I looked for places where I could get porn for free. About 12 years ago, I signed up to Score because I figured they were a well-known, respectable company and that was a good experience. Since then, I haven't had issues with any other sites. Maybe, other posters still have memories of bad experiences from the days when pay-sites didn't have much competition and engaged in dark patterns and other unethical practices.

They pretty much ALL still have deceptive practices. I can't think of one site that when you go to hit the final 'enter' or 'submit' button to subscribe it won't automatically check a box to subscribe you to another site in really small print.
^^ I agree that 20+ years ago that there were a lot of deceptive practices. Subscribing to many porn sites was taking a risk. I had my credit cards hacked several times. For me, there were a couple of changes that made things better. The biggest is that I got smarter after each time getting scammed and now I stick mostly to sites I know and trust. That list is long though, so there is a lot of variety. The second is that I have a list of billers that I trust. Even if I find a new site that looks interesting that I'm not familiar with, if they use a biller I trust then I'll still join. The risk is that the site itself is crap, but at least I know I can cancel easily and my card information is safe.
I agree it's improved-- but there's still much trickery-- like hiding unsubscribe links under two or three other drop-downs that are not at all intuitive. Then there's the automatically signing you up for another site. I joined a site, unaware that I'd been pre-checked to join a second site for "free". Since this hadn't changed the current charge, I didn't notice-- until I started getting auto-billed for the second sight, (turns out, it was "Free" only for 14 days if not cancelled-- a ponderous process). The best way to fight deceptive charges is the Nuclear Option-- the dreaded charge-back. Banks are very sympathetic to consumer complaints against bad-actor websites, and if CC Bill or whomever starts getting a whole slew of them from a particular site, they're going to make them change their tactics or find a new biller (which for a porn site, is not easy). Perhaps a better solution: One of my credit card companies (Capitol One, I think?) offers customers a VIRTUAL "card" a one-time-use number that attaches to your regular account, but becomes invalid after a single purchase and cannot be re-billed. This sounds promising. I'll have to try it.
This is plainly correct and the entire story. What's remarkable is that "porn as we knew" ever existed at all. It's sort of dumb but nevertheless entirely appropriate to compare it to rock-n-roll circa 1950-2000: the doomed hegemony of a near-perfect one-to-many commercial distribution system supercharged a meritocracy that, briefly, incentivized totally extraordinary things. Both over now. 😢
Seems to me that if you're the kind of person prepared to pay for porn, there's a strong probability that you also read reviews before parting with your hard-earned. I've never signed up to a new site without first doing my homework and most review sites will warn you about pre-checked cross sales. I agree, it's a scummy practice but you just have to exercise a bit of vigilance and make sure you scour the small print before committing.

[/quote] Good point, but I don't like having to jump through hoops in order to spend my money with somebody. Hit my card, give me a month for $49, then do nothing further till you hear from me again. I want it to be like ordering socks from Amazon. MORE socks don't suddenly start showing up (unless you specifically requested a subscription), no trickery where they also slip underwear into your cart, hoping you're not paying attention, then automatically hit your credit card for it. IF Amazon operated like porn sites, they'd doubtlessly make more-per-order in the short run, but people would start to avoid using them, or order things far less often. Also, there are not "free alternatives" to Amazon like there are to subscription porn sites. So when the industry gets customers who don't mind paying for the same content others are DL-ing for free, you'd think they'd appreciate them, super-serve them, and not try to manipulate them into spending more by deception and trickery.
^ and ^^ I agree with you both. If I stumble on a new site, or see it referenced here, I'll do some digging. There are a lot of objective review sites out there and an added benefit is that many review sites will also have worked out a deal with the site for a reduced rate.
Pre-checked cross-sells are a terrible practice, and I say this as someone who sometimes opts to take them. My worry is that while people like us with experience in signing up for porn subscriptions know to watch for them, a lot of less experienced buyers wouldn't have that knowledge. I can see if someone wants to dip their toe into subscribing and gets burned doing so, that they'd rightly give up paying for porn and make a beeline back to the pirated stuff.
I've said many times that it's bizarre that so many porn sites/companies treat paying customers so badly. But I'll also say that there are some reputable companies and sites that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Plus the biller is a big factor too.
I agree that our porn dollars go a lot further these days than they used to. I can't remember the cost to rent a VHS or DVD, but I recall that buying a DVD could be as much as $30. With deals on subscriptions, that $30 goes much further.
A good example is Bang.com. I signed up and got a discount. They bill through a reputable biller too, so I knew I'd have no issues with my card being hacked or problems cancelling. The site has over 1700 exclusive scenes that are right up my alley. As much as I join Bang for the exclusive scenes, their catalogue of non-exclusive scenes is MASSIVE. Bang has more DVDs available for download than any store could ever dream of having. Hell, in my last membership alone I probably downloaded $10,000 worth of scenes from the back catalogue if it was priced at full retail. And I paid around $20 USD.
Shady practices are one reason why I now have a list of sites that I cycle through, and I'll only join a new site after doing my homework. And if I trust the biller.
I understand what everybody is saying on this thread and it is depressing, but the problem was spotted as long ago as the movie, "Boogie Nights", with the change from film to video, and then from DVDs to internet. There is also the fact that porn was relaritvely new with magazines giving way to video and the cultural acceptance of porn more widely. This then is linked to the fact that porn is everywhere if you want it, and this can result in consumers being "habituated" to it. Porn is great and healthy, but its like alcohol, too much can spoil the effects, you need to know how to use it. Fortunately tho it will continue and we always have the archives to remind us of how good it can be.

You know what's also the downfall of porn? The fact that you can be a veteran, you can be a well established performer with a resume of over 400+ scenes. But when you mount a comeback after years of being a responsible parent or if you take your foot off the throttle, suddenly nobody is dying to book you. Your phone doesn't ring off the hook, your scene output slows to a trickle and it's like you might as well be a born again newbie trying to get recertified. Trying to prove that you still have what it takes and all the tools to become a superstar in this industry. You would think they would welcome back those who have been through the ringer of the industry machine and came out on the other end with a smile still ready to go. Yet somehow that's not the case, the belief is that the industry machine can mold someone into the next ultimate icon but that's just not how it works.

'It seems like studios are pushing for a more homogenized approach to content these days. For some reason, it seems like the people running the industry are determined to strip away everything that made these studios stand out.'
I agree 10,000% with this and there's a perfect quote that applies to this: 'familiarity breeds contempt.' There's no incentive to watch different brands if they all look, feel and sound the same and ironically even after the creator is gone - the VMG is still killing it by staying true to their brand and you can't mistake any of their brands for anyone else's. This is what cost GFF and SHV/Sweet Sinner dearly, they owe their survival to Ricky Greenwood because without the Sinful Nun, Talk Derby To Me, Girls of Wrestling . . . SHV would be an afterthought. Girlsway and GFF have the same problem, I wish GFF would find a way to bring Ricky into the fold because if anyone could turn that studio around; he's got my vote. If you're not committed to putting forth the best possible product, not committed to making scenes that are easily distinguishable for everyone else's - why are you even in the business? I would say that AllHerLuv/MissaX are among those staying true to form and while not all of their scenes are stellar, you can tell from the presentation when you're getting an AHL or MissaX scene. I wish they could collaborate with GFF, I think both could learn from each other with GFF rising from the ashes of irrelevance and AHL/MissaX mastering the art of how to create that slow burn that leads to an epic eruption.

Like it or not, newer is better. Once a girl has done the rounds of all the studios, consumers have seen what she has to offer, they've got bored with her and are just waiting for the new and improved model to appear. It's difficult to define what that certain 'something' is but unless a girl has it, her lifespan in the porn industry is going to be limited. There have been plenty of girls who've either tried to make a comeback or tried to reinvent themselves with a new name and maybe a new look and while they're primed and ready to go, the vast majority of them have only met with limited success. It sounds harsh but that's the reality of the industry and it's unlikely to change.

If newer were better, we wouldn't have people complaining about the lack of pornstars over the past decade. One of the biggest complaints you read the current threads is that there's very few legit veterans who have the passion or the drive to make it past the 7, 10, 15 or even 18 year porn career mark. Most bow out in less than 3 years. I could address the vocal crowd that literally criticizes the new performers for lacking the enthusiasm, the intensity, the chemistry of the pornstars and the well established veterans but that would be driving a monster truck through the foundation of your argument. I agree with the great movie argument made above, don't get me wrong - I'm not thumbing my nose at the new stuff but I'm not going to get all worked up just because a performer is new. They have to prove themselves by going through a variety of different scenes and for me to get excited accordingly at the prospect of their staying power.
Actually, I agree with what studrams is saying, sort of. I think porn depends on new female talent & these days they often get as far as shooting content in their bedroom with a phone. Studios are starving for some new blood to create some interest. I watch tons of old content as well. in large part because currently studio porn is failing us.

You would think with the digital age and with the rising ability of anyone to watch porn without having to pay a dime, that it would be all the incentive in the world to create high quality porn like VMG does but it seems like most studios are too comfortable cranking content that feels like the pornographic version of fast food. I think it was Bree Mills who said in article that she wanted to reshape porn scenes to mimick mainstream movies and TV shows much like Jacky St James and Ricky Greenwood where the story comes first with the sex scenes being built in rather than the other way around. But most TV shows don't go with tired old formulas, not if they want to reach 10 or 12 seasons. If you look at the longest running shows today from Law & Order to Grey's Anatomy to NCIS, the reason why they are still capturing people's attention is because they keep growing and evolving accordingly. Porn studios should do the same: take all of the delightfulness of AllHerLuv, the magnetic eroticism of GFF's early scenes, the depravity of PureTaboo and MissaX - now throw in the production value of VMG. Then from that blueprint, develop signature style that keeps people coming for more(literally and figuratively speaking) and you'll have so many performers lining up outside your door, they'll have to shut down the street. There's a reason why above every other studio, VMG gets rave reviews about how they treat the talent and the rest of the industry needs to take notes.
Except she seems to think to porn as a form of art (the impression she consider herself an artist) while the others make low quality stuff. I don't have that impression, maybe because I haven''t seen any porn scene I would consider art.

Kenna James had both Dani Daniels and Mia Malkova as not only scene partners but mentors. The result is an 11 year career that is still white hot with 1035 scenes and counting under her belt; you ask what established performers like Remy Lacroix and Nickey Huntsman among others have to offer? How to not only have scorching scenes with killer chemistry and awesome costars but also: how to set boundaries, how to avoid burnout, ideally how to find something rewarding every day you're on set that makes new talent want to stay longer rather than shorter.

My point exactly - I've mentioned this before. I feel like every new starlet should attend a seminar hosted by: Casey Calvert, Angela White, Phoenix Marie, Cadence Lux, Kenna James, Cherie DeVille, Whitney Wright, Riley Reid, Kenna James, Mia Malkova, Dana Vespoli, Asa Akira before they get their first scenes in so they know how to advocate for themselves, stay healthy, avoid burnout etc.
I found myself thinking about this recently - porn is at its finest when it leans into the absurd, the silly, the tongue in cheek scenes like the stepsister who is so annoyed at her sister stealing her clothes that she decides to strip her and fuck her right on the bed or Going Bonkers which involved magic and a giant talking teddy bear or the masseuse who gets caught masturbating by a returning client who forgot her phone. Remove the over the top comedy element, replace it with that tongue in cheek silliness or if you're looking to go down the noire taboo route; make the menace or the danger palpable and tangible rather than abstract. I've seen more than a few scenes that desperately wanted to qualify as taboo but the forbidden element is watered down. Watered down to the point where it's just another failure to launch scene.
