There's a frustrating contributing factor to the downfall of porn which has been highlighted in a few threads about how porn is doomed due to a lack of new starlets who end up becoming bonafide pornstars. Octavia Red and Charlotte Sins both address this in XBiz which is the misguided belief that porn is a get rich quick industry that you can hop into, make a ton of money and be out the door before anyone notices you've been there. For that mentality to still be prevalent in the age of the internet is beyond foolish, Nickey Huntsman herself has said in a Woodrocket video that by her third scene - everyone knew she was in porn. Octavia Red acknowledges her initial reluctance and calls herself stupid for not having done more thorough research while encouraging new talent to do their homework. I'm reminded of an adult performer who quit after a 3 year run because she avoided telling her family and they hit the roof when they found out. She stopped performing instantly to win her family back; Charlotte says she runs into too many people who think they can fly under the radar. She says that's not realistic at all and that it pays to have no illusions. I'm not saying every adult performer needs to become a pornstar or absolutely has to have a career that lasts a decade or longer but prospective new pornstars need to be: realistic, driven, dedicated to both the business and their health, determined to reach those top tiers of talent, ideally they will tell those who matter about their pornographic career so there are less ugly surprises down the road and I think it pays to be one of those people who finds something fun and joyful in every scene experience. I've seen so many people who have all those tools to become pornstars rather than just industry veterans only for them to pull the plug just as they hit their stride.

The art of good porn in my book is similar to the art of movies and tv shows; the challenge being to make a scene that feels like it could happen next door or down the street or in some major city but that's forbidden, erotic and wild enough that it's miles away from anything you would be able to get at home or on a one night stand. I've definitely seen way too much 'theatrical' porn which is so exaggerated that it takes the fun out of things. If you can talk coherently while someone is sucking your dick or munching on your pussy, clearly they are not doing a good job because the vocabulary should be reduced to expletives and colorful expressions.
