Is this the end of our Era?is this the end of our part in the porn industry...let me tell you something...Sasha Grey left porn and she is tweeting her lunch and stuff like that...porn sites are full of videos that date back in 2003 and 90s i mean the whole generation is rapidly dissapearing...ofc there are examples of porn titans as Lex Steele,Nina Hartley,Lisa Ann,James Deen,Gianna Michaels,Sara jay...BUT! for how long people?i mean we love porn but i feel like a dinosaur everytime i visit a porn site...ARE WE READY TO ACCEPT A NEW GENERATION OF PORNSTARS? WEll even if we are the sites are full of the old stuff and some new amateur stuff...so is this THIS THE END OF OUR ERA?
sasha grey just tweeting about random things wtf..i thought she was hitting it big as a DJ in Russia(where she is very popular) With all thats been going on in the industry nowdays i.e AIDS/STD scares shuuting down production and more and more stars leaving cause of not being booked enough or just plain burned out(e.g Mischa Brooks,Persia Monir,Katsumi etc.) i can see why this could be the"end"

^He was being sarcastic? I thought his point was that the music industry and the adult entertainment industry face a common threat: piracy.

It was so fun to follow your favorite stars over the years. It made it a richer experience. You could watch scenes, interviews, awards shows. Almost get to know and appreciate your favorites. Now it is a revolving door. There hardly are any stars. It sucks. Is this the future? Or will the era of the star return? The consumption of porn has gone up thru the roof so it could be ripe for the revival of career stars. I hate that studios can scenes and release randomly. It makes it hard to follow people's careers and takes away a lot. Like if you are a fan of Tom Cruise but they are just releasing Top Gun. It is confusing!

Yes piracy is huge but it could have a reverse effect in time. If sites tighten up their game and quality and make the whole porn experience better and more immersive people will WANT to pay. Look at iTunes. I know people that stole all their music until they realized how much more FUN it was to use a slick sleek immersive program instead of crap like BitTorrent. We all have things we would like to see scene wise. But the mere fact that us fans are here chatting away is the real future. It will be porn with a more community integrated environment for comment, discussion, star interaction, etc. BrazzersLive was a great peak at something like that but it appears to b gone...

^The average porn viewer watches porn to masturbate. Most people are not going to pay to masturbate. Brazzers Live is a great example because it expanded porn beyond that simple process. If similar endeavors are not undertaken by porn producers mainstream porn will inevitably collapse.

^ Sad, but true. No matter what "innovations" the porn biz may come up with, the "average joe" is always going to settle for the lower quality and most importantly, free, option when it comes to the porn they view for their jerk-off sessions. In regards to the original subject of this thread, one thing I really don't mind about porn nowadays is the relatively quick "turnover" rate when it comes to stars leaving and new ones arriving continuously. Personally, I like this because, quite frankly, pornstars tend to "fall off my radar" after they've been in the biz for a year-plus. A recent example is the recently revealed anal scenes that porn "superstars" Allie Haze and Gracie Glam have done for Mason & HardX, my favorite director/studio. Understandably, a lot of porn fans are thrilled about this news, but my reaction is more "Meh, that's nice." Don't get me wrong, I find both Allie and Gracie to be sexy, but I would've been much more excited about these anal scenes say, maybe 2-3 years ago when I was more interested in them. Now? I'm much more interested in "newer" pornstars like AJ Applegate, Veruca James, Dakota Skye, etc.
Is there really? Think about it for one moment. How many rock bands or rock performers can you think of that started their career five years or less ago and are still going strong or getting stronger? The same can be said for any other type of music. The simple truth is that most artist now tend to have very small careers before they burn out or are simply no longer relevant and unlike the porn industry. Most musical artist can't use the piracy card as for why their careers are dying. That's not to say that there isn't a lot of piracy but the advent of itunes and similar services has significantly lowered that threat. How many pop, rock or other types of music artist will be fondly remembered a decade or more from now? Aside from the sad fact that we now assign the title of "Star" to almost anyone who does anything. Todays performers aren't as impressive as the ones that came before them and that's in any type of media. I don't expect to see a genuine porn "star" come out of the industry anytime soon and maybe never again. At least not one that isn't already a pornstar.

Another question is it time for porn to die. Everything must come to a end and it usually happens when one company or person kills off competition and variety in the process. Porn is now one dimensional, white guy banging white girl,it should have to deal with the consequences pay for it's actions.
American porn might be bland but they are still making interesting and high quality content over in Japan. If you've seen one vanilla western porn flick with a dude fucking a girl in the ass you've seen a large majority of it all.

Sex drugs and war never ends..it's in our blood...so porn is something affiliated with sex and i hope it never dies...although its hard to believe...man its sad seeing your favorite stars living their lives with their husbands away from fb or twitter and you rotting on their older videos..i mean Bonnie Rotten is still on the run...but..who knows for how long

For true fans the best option is let the old studios, producers and directors die. Bring in some new blood that responds to the market. It doesn't make sense to let a few people kill the industry and bring everyone down with them.

yes i agree with you...but the thing is there is not enough new blood really...i mean only new pornstars (a few) that are directed by old directors...so...:/
