Now *THAT* is the way we should be making decisions instead of these lame sound bites on TV.

It passed, info is here. LA County was always hostile to porn production, this just means that things will shift to San Francisco, where they generally make better porn anyway. BTW Mitchell Englander is the representative of San Fernando Valley, he'd oppose this bill for obvious reasons if he was Democrat or Republican.

Agreed but he is not bad for just the porn business, rather business in general.
There was a period where condom usage was more common, some studios used them a lot, like Vivid and Wicked. The public did not embrace it so directors dumped them. I see condom usage more often in amateur porn these days. IMO this story is more chatter that will fade away.

Ask Russ Hampshire at VCA how well that condom mandate Marc Wallice era worked out for his company VCA

Why SaN Francisco? Wouldn't it be easier to take performers and crew in a few cars and head south to somewhere like San Diego?

San Fran has the infrastructure and has always been smut friendly. I would suspect San Diego doesn't have the former and isn't the latter.

^ I have to second that, BlackSix. As I understand it SF is the friendliest place in the US for smut producers. They are so friendly that one of their larger employers is none other but Kink.com. As of 2007 (source: Peter Acworth's conversation with Bevan Dufty SF Supervisor -- video on Behind Kink) there were several (I think he said seven) gay porn producers there as well. Now that most of LA's porn community is in search of a new home I hope that SF and the surrounding counties becomes the premier location to produce high-quality smut!

^I don't think we should use Kink as a good example when discussing the friendliness of SF toward porn in general. There's no doubt in my mind that SF ir happy that Kink is there but I think a large part of why Kink is appreciated in SF is because they bought an abandoned historical building and invested large sums of money in rewnovating and restoring it to it's past glory.
