If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt the comment, isn't it likely that this lack of incentive could slow the uptake for models doing their first anal scenes? I suspect some models will still be able to drive a deal. For example, I'm sure that an established star like Vanna Bardot was paid handsomely for her first anal scene. Hell, I know I signed up for the whole VMG package to get Vanna's anal scenes and I know I wasn't the only person who did that.
But if the only incentive to do a first anal scene is the increased anal rate, that might explain why there have been relatively few big firsts over the past couple of years.

Regarding the awards, this is the only reason for her to do it. Historically performers that do not do it do not win the top FPOTY award. I think that a lot of them that start their careers doing mostly "teen" porn are advised to stay away from anal and hold out until they transition to porn that doesn't rely on the innocent trope. Also, I think that some hold out to use anal as a new hook to give a boost to their careers when the castings start drying up. Not a single performer has ever done or considered doing an anal scene because she hoped to win an award. Even if some might claim otherwise. This is a business and money is why they do it and winning a porn award unlike the kind mainstream entertainment gives out does not help a performer make more money. What probably does help is if they do it in their private life but in the end it's all about how much money they hope to make. A well established performer will usually got a significantly larger paycheck than a newbie and if that established performer is extremely popular than that paycheck will likely be bigger but these days the number of studio who can afford huge payouts is getting rarer each year so that there may come a day when there aren't any studio who could afford to pay what a performers first anal would cost.
I don't know if Leana will ever do a b/g anal.
