^ Yeah, but with Mike John on taking an indefinite sabbatical, that is currently a one-man-show run by Tim v. S. That upcoming POV Overdose also is probably long in the making (or a comp?), as it for example has a Jada Stevens scene w/ anal, something she didn't do after her contract with Archangel expired, and prior to that was exclusive to Archangel, so it must have been shot even before that.
Long before Blacked, Hard-X, and Dogfart there was Racks & Blacks and Brutha Lovers. Both appear to be gone. Brutha Lovers had some good scenes featuring hot Blond MILFs like Rebecca Wild and Lauren Kain paired with young Black Males. The scenes were good but they ruined all their scenes by being too cheap to shoot the video and picture sets separately. So while you are watching a video you constantly see a flash going off in the scene.
Let me first preface that some of the below may be an off-shoot of the Covid-19 pandemic and/or BLM effect on the industry in general.
I would say that based on her recent comments. Aiden Starr is done.
If the recent allegations against Aiden Riley get proven or a believable enough then he might be out as well.
kevin Moore is long gone.
Elegant Angel may not be dead but I would argue that they aren't far from it.
Hookup Hotshot/Bryan Gozzling. Now this one is still to be decided for certain but it doesn't bode well when his last update was March 30 and he hasn't discussed anything to do with his site on his twitter feed once in recent months. Also some customers have been complaining about some of the join options where they bought a membership that should have given them full access but it didn't.
Legend - I knew things were bad when everyone aside from the 2 owners (Jack and Bruce) and the shipping staff was laid off over about a year;) then one day the sign went down and the Devil's sign went up over on Owensmouth. They hadn't produced anything in years at that point.
Gentleman's - A guy named Scott and his dad Mike, also on Owensmouth, up the road a bit.
Someone mentioned Combat Zone, also Third World and Black Market, later Filly Films, with each having a combination of the same ownership.
Someone also mentioned Red Light, they were bought out by Vivid years back and that was the last we heard of that label.
I remember discussing the decline of the business with a few of these companies, they blamed it all on pirating. That was part of it, but I also frankly told the guys at Legend that a trip to the Pirate Bay will show us that no one was pirating there stuff. I probably should have been more tactful. I also said that some simple improvements to production might help, like better lighting, decent sets, maybe a hair and make-up artist and choose your models better. They scoffed like a didn't knew what I was talking about, but I guarantee you, Tushy/Vixen/etc and Nubiles seemed to have got the message.

In my opinion, Red Light District was the best studio in porn for a number of years.
I think the market changed. New customers need new content, new style of filming, new cameras, new directors, new performers. It still doesn't make sense for a DVD to be selling for $20-$40 in 2021. People got used to $10 a month for unlimited streaming/downloads for mainstream content. It's time for $8.99 a month sites with HD/4K streaming and boxset Blu-ray for physical.
