There are alot of people in these forums on AdultDVDTalk, and i've been for a few years too, but how can porn become such a part of ones life? Alot of people argue that porn just uses women and those watching it stands behind that abuse of women, but it's nothing like that for me atleast. I've been watching porn since before i was a teenager, but just now and then.. i can entitle myself somewhat of a porn addict since a few years back, and there's one thing it's because of: Loneliness, to put it short. I haven't had a relationship in 4 years. I have also never been with an escortgirl of any kind and i find one night stands offputting, so relationships are the only way i have some kind of intimacy, and since i've been alone for so long (i'm only 26 so it's not like i'm gonna be alone forever, but still) the only way i'm finding some kind of intimacy with women are through porn.. it probably sounds a bit pathetic, but i've always had it hard getting involved with women and porn lets me experience some kind of it atleast. No offense towards anyone in the business, but i would very much like to never watch porn again if i could only find someone to share those intimate moments with myself instead of just looking at others. And before someone asks, no i don't think sleeping with women in reality is like in a pornmovie, i know the difference between real life and what's shown in a movie, it's just a substitute.
That's my reason for watching porn. How about someone else?

I have too much free time. I enjoy it. I enjoy films, whether gonzo or feature, comedy or drama. I enjoy scenes. They entertain me. On top of that, pleasuring yourself is called pleasuring for a reason. It feels great; you derive pleasure from it. And if it feels good, do it. I'm also in my 20s, and most porn girls are just a little younger than me so there's that side of it, watching my generation do naughty things. If they're not my generation, then they could be my students. I'm a Teacher's Assistant so I get 1on1 time with pretty college babes often. I'm attracted to them so I can go home and wank it to a Sophia Sutra or Bibi Jones anytime. No more dirty thoughts about students, and I get to pleasure myself. Win-win. I have off-and-on relationships, one-night-stands, one-weekend-stands, one-week-flings, and I'm always looking for a relationship on the by so I don't think loneliness is that much of a factor in my case.

My reason is probably a lot of people's reason: I was in a long-term relationship that was sexually unsatisfying. I've since moved on and my porn viewing decreased. Even though my initial explanation for that is that I'm a pickier, jaded porn fan, it's probably because I am also sexually satisfied more often and now something has to be in the rapture-realm to even keep my attention. Lately, I won't even watch something that peaks my interest without hearing about how great it is from regs on this forum first.

The porn industry may use and abuse some women, and some of them could even be willing participants. I do my best to avoid anything related to that. I learned the hard way not to pass judgment; others can do that, and they're welcome to all of the pain and sorrow that they can stomach.
As for me, I jerk off to porn and probably always will because doing so feels good. I need no other reason and see nothing wrong with that. Any woman who might date me in the future will either have to accept that or move on.... And she'd better like anal sex if she does move on, because guys who don't desire that seem to be few and far between. :P

I watch porn because it exists, and I find it sexually stimulating.
Simple as that.

I enjoy it. I enjoy making it. I enjoy watching it. It's not a substitute for a relationship. I'm in a LTR and I enjoy it. I don't usually masturbate to enjoy it. I don't turn it off when I cum if I do masturbate. I read books and newspapers and magazines, I watch TV and Movies, I listen to music and podcasts, and I also watch porn.

Best advice I ever got about women is this...
"marry a girl you meet in church, not in a bar". You don't have to believe everything they preach at you on Sundays, but some women seem to enjoy the "social thing" once a week, in a church.

Porn is just pictures of sex. Pictures of sex can be as stimulating as actual sex. Sex is part of life. End of story. Porn can become part of a person's life for the same reason that stopping for coffee at Dunkin Donuts becomes a part of someone's morning routine. It may not be quite as good as home brewed coffee made just the way you like it but it's a decent substitute when you don't really have the time or energy to brew your own coffee every morning five minutes out of bed and half an hour before you have to be out the door with your hair still wet.
For some people, porn is just entertainment. For some it's a reasonably acceptable substitute for getting married just to get laid on a regular basis. If I had to put a definition beside the word "Pathetic" in the dictionary, it would be the guy who gets married just for sex. I don't feel the slightest bit inferior to that guy. I proudly masturbate and satisfy my sexual needs for pennies on the dollar. I don't have anything against people who get married but that's the wrong reason and most who do so will pay for it dearly.

You seem to suggest masturbation is a substitute for other forms of sex. I disagree. Masturbation is another form of sex. It happens not to involve another person, but it's not a substitute for anything. It's not better or worse or second rate, just different. It's just one of many ways to enjoy sex.
However, I suggest limiting yourself to only enjoying sex by masturbating limits the variety of ways you can enjoy sex, and you miss out on other forms of sexual enjoyments. In addition to solo-sex, there's a wide variety of partner sex....same-sex, opposite-sex, bi-sex, and try-sex.....as in "I'll try that!" Consider yourself try-sexual, and add a little more to your life.....actually, you may find it adds a bunch to your life!

Emmetpunk...I think you may be confusing sexual release with emotional/physical intimacy. At such a young age (26), and in your prime, if you are not experiencing what is referred to as 'touch deprivation' ( no human contact for 4 years), you are having a more 'emotional' void in your mind.

I guess I have gotten very jaded over the years. Porn doesn't do much for me sexually anymore except on rare occasion but I find it and those involved in it simply fascinating ! I especially like researching it from a current and also historical perspective.

1. Porn gets me through times of no relationship. As Bob Marley sang, "no woman no cry"
2. I'm too lazy to fantasize anymore
3. I'm in a stressful dog eat dog job so a drink, a spliff, and watching some porn keeps me from needing Ambien every night.
4. I'm 45 years old, 18 year old girls call me "Sir"
5. I collected baseball cards as a kid but the cards just sat there.

In my opinion it is. Since for someone like me, the real thing is more trouble than it's worth. I won't go into all the details but I've written it all out on this forum before. Probably more than once.
That depends on what you want, what you care about and what you're willing to accept to get what you want.
Not if you've already done everything you ever wanted to do. I (knowingly) took a lot of (health) risks when I was younger in order to enjoy myself. I don't regret it but at some point I decided that I'd had my fun and there was no point in continuing to take those risks to do the same stuff over and over. And since I didn't want a relationship or marriage, I wasn't a candidate for a (safer) monogamous relationship. I didn't think it was fair to lie to a woman and tell her I loved her just for sex.
Already have. Like I said. I'm bi and have known it since I was very young. I've done everything I was interested in doing. I'm not saying everyone should do what I do but I know exactly why I watch porn and I find it to be indispensable part of my life.

I'm 56 and they look at me like I just sat up in my coffin. Either that or they yell at me thinking I can't hear like a 95 year old.

I'm married and we have sex regularly but not frequently - about 3 times a month, on average. My wife is happy with that frequency but I am not. I need to release just about every day. But it's not really feasible for us to have sex every day, even if my wife did want it, because sex takes a long time and can be physically demanding. It's good to be able to jerk one out in the evening on the nights we don't have sex. I need porn to jerk off. It takes me forever to cum if I'm jerking it to mental images alone.
Also, I think porn helps to keep me faithful to my wife. (some people would argue that jerking off to porn is a form of cheating, but I don't buy it) If I wasn't able to admire, lust after, and "pretend fuck" other women by watching porn, I'd probably have a very hard time controlling the urge to fuck other women in real life. Also, the practical side of me says that porn is cheaper and less complicated than a real mistress. My porn collection won't bitch me out when I want to spend Christmas and New Years with my family. My porn collection won't call up my wife to tell her I'm fucking around. I just box up the DVD and throw it back into the safe. Easy.

I agree very much with your observations Emmetpunk. I think I can speak for a significant amount of men that watch porn, not all of course, but it does stem from loneliness, feelings of inadequecy and a lack of real contact with the female of the species. I became pretty obsessed with porn in an extreme period of loneliness and having no girlfriend or an female contact really. As soon as I found someone and I had a girlfriend I never really watched that much, only in the sense of picking up ideas and gaining some inspiration for positions. Now the girlfriend has left me, well one finds oneself returning to the comforting arms of pornography once more.
Nothing says romance like anal sex.

I got so much ass when I was single, it's ridiculous. That isn't bragging, I live in a young town, and a good looking man, who knows how to carry a conversation, will always meet women. My business is one, that also offers the opportunity to meet women on a daily basis.
Porn is an escape. Some guys can be very happy with one woman. Others have a bit more of a challenge. Porn helps take the edge off.

My back and pelvis problems impede both bicycling and sexual activity. I watch porn but not bicycling videos. Right now I'm watching softball.

I initially watched porn when I was a teen/early 20s but most of it was very unappealing and I found trying to find something really sexy frustrating (this was in the early 90s). Then I had some steady girlfriends and my consumption dropped way off, particularly because my memory of porn was so negative. I actually came back to porn way later through my interest in exploitation films which lead me to 70s features. Once I found ADT I discovered some of the better gonzo, went back and re-watched some of the better stuff I missed in the 90s and 00s and now follow the few studios, directors and performers who interest me now.

Macko69 - does your wife enjoy the fact that your jack off to porn? And does she watch you do so also, to me that would be red hot if she watched you jerk to porn and naturally helped you along as well with you returning the favor.

I think I am a very visual person. Seeing things stimulates me. And I'm really horney so seeing sex on screen is very stimulating. I know what it is like to go through a dry spell sexually. But right now I'm having alot of sex, but I still like porn. There are indeed hot chicks in porn. And they do very nasty things. Alot of the time I spend watching porn, I think I'm trying to see fantasies of mine played out on film. I like to watch girls get really nasty. Usually nastier than normal non-porn girls are willing to do. I have also gotten some ideas from porn over the years of things I'd like to try out, and I've been fortunate to do some of them. I think its just all about the feakiness of the sex shown in porn.
