This is really starting to get out of control. Lets refrain from naming names(unless you do it to compliment them because you're into this) but why is this so popular? Imo this can ruin a girl's looks. When they go overboard on the upperlip they are actually no longer able to smile and show their nice teeth since they're covered, you notice how a lot of these girls have stopped smiling in photos? Some 'experts' are welcome to chime in. Is this just filler that they get injected into their lips which needs regular maintenance? Or is it something surgical and permanent?
Lip fillers can temporary or permanent. People do it because of insecurity about their lips. They think they are too thin or uneven. Many performers deny they have had anything done. They do so despite photos which show their lips are noticeably fuller than when they first started in the business. I haven't seen any porn girls that I think look better after having it done.
^I don't think I have seen a single case where it enhanced her beauty either. I think it MIGHT if they added it with small amounts so that the difference would be subtle, but the girls are either incapable of choosing that route or this treatment can't achieve that(sounds unlikely). I hope none of them chose permanent fillers, that this fad dies out very soon and they can all go back to natural. Hope.

It's never a good sign, People just cannot controll themselves when starting out on medicine lines run by balldraining docs, offering implants, too, as if this was some fucking boxing, and all had to rise in weight class and protect themselves with soft Shield speedbumps feeling just too hard, soon to be looking like taking some serious beating anyway.
I do not get why is so ppopular either because 99% of the cases doesn't end with a good look in my opinion. Competition is hard, but I think it shouldn't be at any cost.

The "why" isn't mysterious at all imo. If a performer suddenly has thicker lips, isn't her reason obvious? She wanted thicker lips. As to why she wanted thicker lips, maybe we can start with the possibility that she likes the way that thicker lips look. None of this seems especially complex to me.
^Does she like the fact that she can no longer show her teeth when she smiles because it's covered by the swollen lip tissue? If they "liked" this they wouldn't feel self concious enough to simply never smile anymore in photoshoots(it looks quite odd when they do try to smile in scenes). It is more complex than just a yes or no answer like you seem to think. This looks more like a case of peer pressure and that they wouldn't do it if it wasn't the current trend.
^ Nah, I think missporn's answer is the simplest and therefore the best: They actually think it looks good. You and I may not find it aesthetically pleasing but there's no need to bend over backward with convoluted armchair psychology to figure out why performers get it done.
^Every thread can have a political answer like that and get shutdown. armchair psychology is part of the message board experience. Nobody is forcing them to read our speculation. ^ Speaking for myself, I'm not a fan. I can't recall a single performer who I felt looked better after a lip-injection. But I'm kind of a weirdo about performers making changes to their appearance. Once I'm into a girl because of her specific look it's hard for me to accept sudden departures. I have in a few cases but most of the time I just move on to the girls who still hold my interest. Of course, I'm also of the opinion that most performers don't need to care one iota about my personal opinion and can do whatever they like.

Off the top of my head I can only recall two performers who had work done on their lips (which pretty much demonstrates my indifference), and I didn't have strong feelings either way in either case. Your assertion was that she did so because she likes it. Getting the procedure isn't automatic proof that the person in question is doing it solely because they would love it, as other reasons can be in effect like I said peer pressure or fads etc. So, are you actually into the oversized lip filler augmentation yourself? Or should I be expecting another political answer along the lines of "I'm happy for her if it makes her happy". Just trying to see if anyone here is actually into this.
One more thing: Virtually every time a performer gets a lip-injection I see scores of comments both here on the forum and on twitter decrying the move. And yet, I can't recall any performer who ever had the enhancement reversed due to fan outcry despite the fact that lip injections are completely reversible with an injection of hyaluronidase. I think the fact that performers hear all these fan complaints and still keep them anyway lends further credence to missporn's explanation that they genuinely do like them and think they look good.

Peer pressure that makes them want thicker lips? A current trend that makes them want thicker lips? In either case, the result is that they want thicker lips, so they go and have lip augmentation.
I think it could be the opposite. That they keep them because of those other reasons, not because they genuinely like them. These girls love attention and compliments, what better way than to show off a body part they think will garner them positive feedback. It shows when they no longer smile in photoshoots because their swollen lips cover their nice teeth when they try to. Virtually with every performer who gets this done, they stop showing off their beautiful wide smiles with straight whitened teeth. Some of them LOVED to smile all the time beforehand.

Why does that mean that they aren't satisfied with their lip augmentations? If they can't smile properly because of the work they had done, all that tells us that is that they can't smile properly because of the work they had done. It doesn't give us any insight into their feelings. Perhaps they value the new thickness of their lips more than they value the ability to show off their teeth. Perhaps their smiles were perfunctory and they didn't love smiling as much as you assume. Personally I have no idea.

I don't know, I was resistant at first but I've kind of bought into to the plastic look. It's so porn star-ish! Will I ever date or want to marry a girl with fish lips? Hell NO! But I don't don't mind fucking these plastic barbie wannabee's for a one off deal, it's kind of hot.

She might like her lips independent of the criticism she receives. Maybe her friends or lovers gave her positive feedback on her lips. Maybe her lips get critiqued here but she gets complimented on them during her webcam shows or at fan events. Maybe you have no idea what you're talking about.I made no assumptions in what I wrote. ^Bizarre is your claim that women who whiten their teeth would get a treatment for swollen lips so that they no longer show their teeth when they smile. You've been grasping at straws the whole time just thinking out loud "well maybe this or that or this" not realising how every suggestion is dumber than the one before. Yet no explanation for why they would stop smiling all of a sudden during shoots right after their fillers. I was just reading a blog post by a woman who wanted to publically admit they had fillers (and botox). They said they were told that an uneven lip ratio could actually br preferred. And that when fillers were used, a skilled operator was required to be able to maintain the ratio. "I felt that my bottom lip was more full than my top lip and was surprised to learn that actually the ratio was about right. What is considered most beautiful is a top lip to bottom lip ration of about 40:60 or 50:50. So putting filler into my top lip would result in an unnatural looking ratio. What we could do was put a little filler in both top and bottom so the ratio remained the same but made the top lip a little more visible." ^^Sounds right. There's a popular girl out there now whose upper lip was thinner when she first started. She's now gone overboard and appeared to plumb both top and bottom lips. Obviously looks fake. She's still pretty but is beginning to look like a fake barbie doll.
I think full lips are the second most attractive thing about a woman, right after a full ass. Veronica Brazil epitomizes this... the most beautiful mouth, ever. And they are natural. I like Angelina Valentine's fake lips, and a few others. I don't know why this isn't a "thing" in porn... I can't be the only one who really likes this.

^I don't know why you can't see it because it's usually pretty obvious. Like I said I don't want to mention names but if you're curious type 'lips' into the search bar and you can see how often it's noticed in the star crossed section.
As I've said in other threads, all facial plastic surgery is for me a terrible thing in porn. Lip 'enhancement' can be temporary, but I include it as a bad idea. Obviously it's up to the performers in question, if they like it, good for them; but I can't think of a single time it's improved someone's looks (at least in my opinion). Having said that, I'm not that consistent on these things, as I don't have a problem with fake tits. I know some people are absolutely fanatical about natural being better, but personally I like 'em big; so implants can often be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
Like most any other cosmetic enhancement women get their lips enhanced because they and others think it looks better than thin lips. Sorry, but in many cases fuller lips look better on certain faces than thin lips. And also like many other enhancements many people tend to not like lip enhancements not because of the look of them but simply because they know the person got them. There are plenty of people with lip fillers that look good and no one complains about because they don't know it's been done. However, with so many people (not all) the second they know/find out there was a procedure done they'll claim it's horrible and so obvious (when in fact they had no idea before). This is strangely common with lots of cosmetic surgery and we've seen it on these boards where some people had know idea a starlet had some sort of work done then have different feelings toward them once they find out. This is true among many people when it comes to breast implants, butt injections/implants, fillers, lip enhancements and even toupees. Yes, sometimes people go overboard or have bad work done and it's very obvious but much of the time it's a bunch of complaining because of how people feel about cosmetic surgery in general or the simple fact they just hate any sort of change. As far as going too big...sometimes it takes time for swelling to go down so in the beginning they may be bigger than intended. Sometimes the girl may want a size that doesn't look natural or good at it takes a bit of time to realize it. But in any case regardless of what you may feel the current trends are fuller body parts in general and many people are into that look. The porn world is all about projecting the current hot looks of the day and many of the girls want to look as good as they can so it makes total sense that they'd turn to current trends to base their looks from. and also sometimes go for an exaggerated version of that.
Well, since almost no man agrees with them, maybe they should reconsider their opinion. Especially since they're career may depend on it. There have been several things that guys used to do, several fashions trends that women responded to and said, "Guys, dont do that. Its not sexy." It took us men a while but we finally listened and stopped doing it. Women should do the same here. This does not work. It makes you look like a human version of Jar Jar Binks.

Honestly, I can't stand it. I won't point fingers at any names, but I just dislike the whole thing, to the point where I won't put the stars on my "want list". It's always obvious, even when done moderately.
The whole Kardashianisation of female aesthetics (inside and outside of porn) has been terrible IMO (maybe they were merely the symptom, not the cause).
I came around to liking some fake tits in the end (depending on the girls), but don't think I'm going to do the same with lip filler.
