-Individual porn titles sell 10-20 thousand units. Mainstream titles move 1 million units and up. The biggest mainstream titles can move 20 million units or more. I think Titanic, for example, moved 30 or 40 million units. So, it's all about the benjamins, ya'll. So unless the next Jenna feature sells, literally, a thousand times more than the average porno, pornstars aren't gonna get paid Julia Roberts money.

1. What is the definition of 'porn' in this context? This question is essential in determining what items and revenue sources should be included in the tally. For example, would mainstream Hollywood movies showing nudity and/or simulated sex be included? If the definition excluded 'non-penetration', then revenue from Playboy magazine, for instance, wouldn't be included in the tally (even though most people consider Playboy porn).

5. What merchants should be included? For example, would you include mainstream corporations that profit directly or indirectly from porn? Examples include Marriott, Hilton, AT&T, Amazon.com, General Motors, AOL Time Warner (most of these were mentioned on the Frontline television special on porn)?

6. What geographic location/s (e.g., the U.S. only or the entire world)?

7. What methodology would be used to arrive at the final figure? How could such methodology be engineered to ensure optimal accuracy in the final figure reported?

Depending on how the above questions are answered, the final figure could range from under $4 billion a year to well over $50 billion. Plus, I'm sure I've left out numerous other relevant questions that would need to be asked and answered.
