Gina Gerson said in interview that she had to leave school because everyone found out that she had been in an adult video. She said she continued doing more because at that point everyone already knew. I think similar to the recent lawsuit against an American porn company, and claims against a Czech producer, some Russian producers were recruiting women by telling them that their videos would only be released to people overseas. It sounded like Gina was surprised her classmates and university found out. The Russian porn industry ended up getting banned by Putin. I suspect that was in part because people were less desperate, there was incredible poverty in parts of Russia after the fall of the USSR. However, it was also probably in part because the internet became so ubiquitous that there was little anonymity for actresses.
