Interesting read. It has been said by several on here that the New Hampshire exemption was (essentially) codified. If what Wikipedia says is true, since the decision was based on a state law and not a federal one I don't see how this case can affect New Hampshire law unless it is written exactly the same. However we have another state where porn filming is legal, which is good overall for personal freedom and peoples rights. Now if the porn filming exemption could be done by federal statute so filming would be legal in all 50 states.... Better yet, legalize prostitution and be done with the whole issue.
^ I think Freeman vs CA has to do with Pandering not Prostitution. I also think New Hampshire doesn't involve a law, but like California, was a court ruling. In both cases, it was the courts that created the 'legal' basis, not the legislature legalizing it. Don't hold your breath on a federal law legalizing either pandering or prostitution.
^While sex trafficking is illegal under Federal law, isn't prostitution itself legal? Because otherwise the Nevada brothels wouldn't exist, as Federal statutes outlawing prostitution would override the state's laws permitting it. And on that point, I've always wondered--Native American reservations are under Federal jurisdiction and not that of the state where they're located, and that's what allows them to have their own casinos. Does this mean that a reservation could have its own strip club, its own adult store--even its own brothel, without needing to deal with whatever state or local laws that usually regulate such things? Not that any reservation would have a brothel on its land, no matter how much money a wannabe-Dennis Hof would throw at the tribal council. I'm just thinking that in theory it could happen--but I don't know for sure. (Doggone it--where's pornlaw when you really need him?) _______________________________________________________________________________

^ There is no law against porn or prostitution at the federal level, but they could make a law specifically negating any state laws against it, making it legal nationwide.
I would say this is true with out a doubt. and the website issue depends on if the girl is that involved with running her own site of its on a network. some networks really take such a large portion of the money that is barely worth having a site. but piracy has hurt the amount of shoots with out a doubt and the variety you see. People are afraid to take risks with something or someone different in fear they will lose money. And escorting is all your money, less time, and people tend to be much nicer. ^ Misti, I have always wondered how the talent that actually escorts feels while they are doing it. Unfortunately unless you are in a small Nevada county (escorting is still illegal in Las Vegas and Reno and the surrounding immediate area), it is highly illegal and of course no one would dare come on here and even admit to doing it. I wish that weren't the case, but it is. I will assume that your comment about escorting came from someone else in the industry, I only wish that talent escorts could come on here and talk about it without placing themselves in jeopardy of prosecution. I would bet they have some interesting life experiences to talk about if they could. BTW, a belated welcome to ADT and thanks for posting, Misti. I hope to see more posting from you (and invite all of your friends as well).
Here are some comments from Christian XXX on twitter a few days ago: i thought about starting my blog up again, but to be honest, the biz is very depressing these days. its like in Africa when there is a shrinking watering hole and the same # of animals are trying to get a drink but getting less & less this business has a whiff of desperation to it. i don't like it and it makes me sad.
Are there any stats on the number of dvd's released in say 2010 compared with say 2005 ? Some real figures like that would give us a real idea of the state of porn.
A search of IAFD using google (site:www.iafd.com "movie detail" yyyy) provided: 1998: 8450 1999: 8710 2000: 9240 2001: 9050 2002: 10400 2003: 11900 2004: 15100 2005: 13500 2006: 16500 2007: 16400 2008: 14100 2009: 11600 2010: 10400 The totals are probably misleading, but the relative figures tell a story. 2011 is on track for 10346 titles.
^ Sounds much like the music industry. Even as file-sharing shrinks sales, the number of releases keeps increasing. It's estimated that 20,000 different titles were released in 2009.
Some of that, for both industries, has to be related to how easy it's become to make a movie or album today. Any garage band with a Mac can make an album. I'm sure the major labels have cut back considerably on releases, much like the big porn studios have cut back on movies.
People tell lies my friend. Some people like publicity. I don't like publicity. 674 Posts 5/11

I read the mention of Thailand in a post to this thread. Folks here have no idea about the world outside of the states or should I say the Western nations. If you are willing to spend the money on airfare, you can enter a new world out there where the price of sex is no more than the price of a meal here. And the girls are not seasoned prostitutes either, rather looking for a quick buck on the side from their other jobs. I would never go near any of these escorts in the States, the American girls look like dirty skanks and most have bad attitudes I would not want to be anywhere near them. If you really want to pay dearly, get married and sleep with the same piece of ass until you tire of it. The divorce will also cost you. Look outside the box, look outside the USA.
I woke up today and everything is still everything! 403 Posts 1/09

hey Peoples I agree about places like Southeast Asia, Brazil & Eastern Europe if one has the money and can deal with the negative karma about dipping into a slave-labor and often child labor situation its a good option and a virtual paradise. However, if you go to these places better cover your tracks because there is no way to verify age & if you get nipped over there you are royally f*@%d. I mean royally F*@%!D. I disagree about American escorts being skanks etc., and find your comments to be highly dismissive and maybe only reflective of your own experience. Up here in Portland we have a huge escort network for those who partake of "providers" and participate in the "hobby" and while there are some seasoned prostitutes, an online community which has virtual meetings in selected bars around town provides heavy peer quality control. These are reputable and respectable girls who get into this business for reasons no different than the Thai girls, for extra money to supplement their jobs (many have kids and are single moms) or trying to pay increasing tuition for community college or four year public college. I've got good friends who spend a lot of time and money and have gotten to know the girls and they are good girls who get involved with escorting as a temporary move.....maybe if there was health care and benefits they'd do it long term but most are in it while they're bodies are supple and nubile & while they can pull it off. The stuff about skanks etc. applies to street hookers only in my book and that applies to Thailand & Los Angeles or even Portland as far as i'm concerned.
