It is true that NC has about twice the population of SC, but in a study from 2012, "Deep Inside: A Study of 10,000 Porn Stars" (Jon Millward) there were 43 stars from NC, and only 11 from SC. NC is the state that has AEBN and the Adam & Eve studio. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, AEBN became successful in the late 1990's, as they were the company to introduce VOD to the porn industry. Early stars included Stoya, Rayveness, Julie Robbins, Victoria Givens, and Brooke Ballentine. Early directors included Gerald Sanders, Simon Synister, and Anders Manga. Two productions with interesting storylines from that period were the DVD "Area 69: Invasion of the Body Snatches," with Julie and Victoria, and the DVD "Anita Rose: Breaking the Silence of Southern Harmony," with Julie, Victoria, and Brooke. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to why NC became such a hotbed for early internet porn? Was there something special about one of the stars above that further catalyzed the whole phenomenon?
