This will be a long post; if you don't like reading a bunch of text feel free to scroll past it.
One major complaint fans seem to have with the site is the long wait before a scene is released; trailer/photos/preview clip are shared but could be several months until the full scene is available.
It's nice to know things ahead of time but I can't think of any other studios/sites that do this; don't most usually share things a month or week before?
I'm curious if this is due to a lack of editors. It wouldn't surprise me if there was only a single editor who might be freelance and not an actual full-time employee. It's less time consuming to quickly edit a 1-2 minute trailer.
Some of the member comments I've read for older scenes sometimes criticized the audio quality; some members even stated they could help clean it up and likely did.
Makes me think the editor (at least at the time, unless the editor never left) was overwhelmed and could've used more help, or maybe was new with less professional experience (and possibly offered a lower appealing rate)
Could explain the long wait. Some scenes might be edited sooner than others but having plenty of breathing room before the deadline (release day) probably helps. If the editor does work for other companies that time is factored in also.
If Dogfart hired more editors would that reduce the waiting time for scenes to drop?
Or would Dogfart need to hire more directors also so scenes are released more frequently?
For years Billy Watson appeared to be the only director. After he left there was Gia Paloma, Sid Knox and Miles Long (might be others I'm not aware of). I don't know if they alternated but currently it seems that Miles is basically the full-time director but likely does some work for other companies too.
The site has been around for 20 or so years?
Feels like TPTB (Cable Rosenberg?) never showed interest in expanding production. I would wager he's a wealthy individual and is content with keeping production costs lower to maximize profit.
Still, it feels like along the way it would've been a good investment to buy some real estate strictly for shoots. From the BTS I've watched (shot by Billy and The Minion) it seems like every time they're shooting a scene there's a location fee involved.
If Cable doesn't want to pay multiple locations fees (and multiple crews) in a single week, that might explain why there's probably only 1 new scene filmed each week.
There's the saying if it ain't broke, don't fix it and to the site's credit it's been around this long while other sites over the years have folded or got bought out by a larger company.
On the other hand, being satisfied with how things have been for decades and not willing to invest more is probably why newer IR sites stole a lot of Dogfart's thunder. That and not having a social media presence anymore (their original Twitter was suspended and then after rebuilding a new account that got suspended too)
I obviously don't know the finances of the site but I don't think it's unreasonable to think an extra director and editor couldn't hurt. Dogfart primarily films in LA (maybe Vegas?) but have a secondary crew in Miami might be beneficial. Wider talent pool that isn't dependent on local availability.

^ American talent is scarce rn. Just look at the amount of Euro-shot and milf content popping up on the gonzo sites. It's unprecedented.
*To clear up any confusion when I say preview I mean an actual several minutes preview clip of the specific scene. This is different from the trailer on each model's profile where she introduces herself and the context of the scene

Yeah, the site seems to have followed the bad trend of porn becoming over filtered, sterile, and downright boring.
You can even see this in the photo sets and how they've been airbrushing the hell out of them. It just looks awful and blurry with no detail. Dogfart use to be rawer with a more nasty approach to this genre, now they're doing the same yawn inducing stuff that the "other" site is. Of course, they're not the only ones doing this these days. Shame really, I hope they can get back on track and actually start updating on the regular again. Not holding my breath though.
I'm not surprised that many people have just moved on from pay sites these days, the quality across the industry has taken a big hit.
