In the future you might want to use our Price search. You paid double the typical price for this movie.

You know, while attempting to discover her background, I've uncovered one terrifying fact:
Stoya had NO Wikipedia entry!!!!!!!
That is: no English article. WTF!?
Anyway, I took the liberty of doing some basic research on her.. and setting up the international page. As a non English-speaking person, I am sure I fucked up in many departments.
Behold: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoya
Feel free to edit and improve!
This particularly applies to Stoya herself. LOL! Some feedback would be great.

Wow, thanks.. couple of things you got extremely wrong, but awesome of you to even bother putting this together:
suicidegirls is a website that i was never involved with, mostly because of the bad treatment some of my friends received working for them. i don't hate cooking, but have been known to burn water, and i kind of hate barbeque sauce... with a passion. please also keep in mind that matt stroud (who you referenced in this entry) mis-quoted me extensively and seems to have a problem fact-checking (as evidenced by his statement that i am 21 and have done gangbangs). for instance, if you were quoting an accurately written interview instead of the citypaper, "She also believes that being single makes her more appealing to the fans." would instead be something along the lines of how making a monogamous commitment to someone outside of work makes it harder for me to have sex with strangers on camera and therefore means i'm not giving the consumer/fan the best scene possible.
also, a person or entity cannot edit their own wikipedia entry, so i would be greatly appreciative if you would fix these inaccuracies.

Why doesn't Digital Playground make Wiki pages for their contract girls? Seems like a pretty big oversight.

Not sure they can, because that would be kinda like advertisement.
Stoya, thanks for your comments.
I removed suicidegirls. It was my personal mistake because I was under the impression I saw you there. I tend to mix up all those alt porn websites.
I also removed food comment. I had doubts about whether to mention it or not, but it was the only bit of (what I thought was) useful information in Rog's interview. Beside the fact that you like to hit people..
Fixed relationship sentence. I think. Generally, Stroud's article was PITA to read through because of this guy's ramblings. I got confused there.
Are there any other published interviews you've done? Unfortunately, I can't use blogs and forums as sources.

Thank you darlin', and yes, Digital Playground would not be allowed by wikipedia to edit or build entries on their girls (at least by my understanding of the rules)
I'm sure there are more published interviews I've done, but I think I still owe Ekiqa a discussion on marriage and promised my first available brain power would go to that :)

As I've said before, Stoya was being used as a nickname long before porno because there's about a hundred million girls my age with the same name and most of my friends seemed to prefer calling me stoya. One of my close friends has the same name as my legal one, and I'm so used to being called stoya that if people do use my real name it doesn't even occur to me to answer usually.

I was responding in a general way, not specific to you, otherwise I woulda mentioned that.
I also have the problem with not going by my real name. Though I haven't since I was a little kid, so I still feel akward even writing it down.

Do people feel a right to ask what your real name is? I always wonder if it's just people in the entertainment/music/adult industry that get that....

I work security at a club on weekends, and I get a lot of people asking for my name. Though in that case it is a totally different setting.
People have a right to ASK, just as they have a right to free speech. If they expect the truth, then they've lost it.
I expect that if you offer someone your name, there is an expectation to a real name, even a first name, in reply.
This is far too much thinking at 4:45am after working the club for 8 hours.
During the week, Stoya, if you've finished your fucking spree, for DP, we can have our little talk, and take a trip down the aisle...

Sure they have a right to ask, just as you have a right to not answer. It has always baffled me why people are obsessed with this. Names are like clothes, something to be changed. A name is just a word. Something you choose to be called by at that particular time. Names, like people, evolve. What suited you at one point may not in another.
People may want to know why you are called a certain name (in which Stoya has explained in several different forums)but should not expect to always be given a "real" name.

You can edit your own entry to take out things that are wrong, especially if they are unsourced.
Somebody tried to take out everything due to a misunderstanding, but I recovered as much as I could; especially for someone who doesn't watch porn.

POPPORN.com LOBBIES FOR STOYA™
Insists that Digital Playground contract star should win Best New Starlet
(Philadelphia, November 26th, 2008) The morning after the nominations for the 2009 AVN Awards were announced, adult blog, POPPORN.com has started a grassroots movement lobbying for Digital Playground contract star, Stoya™ to win Best New Starlet.
After winning Best US Newcomer at Venus Berlin, the porcelain skinned, raven haired minx has been the talk of the town and has been seen by throngs of fans during the Pirates 2: Stagnetti’s Revenge promotional tour. The POPPORN.com site supports its insistence thusly:
We're excited because she is pretty much the anti-thesis to the standard adult star and a win for her would be a true testament to the changing tastes and diversity within the adult industry. That's not to say there aren't some other, very impressive stars up for this award. Lexi Belle, Faye Reagan and other POPPORN favorites are all worthy and unique performers in their own right, however in Stoya, we find the perfect balance of smarts, creativity, personality and fuck talent. So we would like to give you, ten reasons why POPPORN.com believes Stoya should win Best New Starlet:
10. First of all, she won Best US Newcomer at Venus Berlin this year. That's kinda like Best New Starlet right? Besides, the Europeans are always fashion forward. Except for those Germans, those folks still dig the California Raisins.
9. Her invisi-nipples… ‘nuff said.
8. She single-handedly brought natural beauty to the Beacon of Silicone that was Digital Playground.
7. All the other nominees are so insecure that they need two fuckin’ names…not our Stoya™!
6. She said she’ll “pull MEAT BALL’s scrotum until he’s able to clamp his teeth down on it” if she doesn’t win and MEAT BALL’s scrotum can’t handle anymore trauma this year.
5. This poor girl has had to fuck Chuck Dera more than once this year.
4. She’s the only nominee who’s ever put part of BUCKTON in her mouth (No, not that part you pervs!)
3. We’re pretty sure that when she shits, golden roses come out.
2. Her acting performance in Pirates 2 was only outdone by Steven St. Croix. You know, it’s the whole “less is more” thing rather than the “too much is waaaaaay too fuckin’ much” approach.
1. Once she wins, POPPORN.com will be able to ride her coattails of success all the way to the top of Mt. Porno and then we can dump her for Jesse Jane and finally get started on our Two Towers porno remake.
So there you have it folks. We encourage you to spam the living shit out of AVN to make sure our gal Stoya wins this year.
POPPORN.com, updated every weekday, features interviews and articles about adult performers, product reviews written by wildly sexual young women with no sense of shame, webisodes and news articles about the adult industry and porn in general. With numerous writers on the roster, including Digital Playground contract starlet, Stoya ™, AVN Hall of Fame member, Tom Byron, and now the lovely Stevie Hart, POPPORN.com offers something completely different to the adult industry.

I know it's a little early for some...and a little late for others...but I'd just like to say Happy ToFurkey Day!!! HAHA...Save a turkey...eat some ToFurkey!!! (Don't worry...I'm not from the PETA group or anything like that)
ANYWAY, Not to distract from the main thread topic... but I'm bringing this up just because I'd like to say how thankful I as well as many others are for Stoya and her movies, figure, personality, smile, and endless replies to all of our non-sense additions to this thread. We all know how swamped she must be with everything and she still takes the time out of her busy schedule to interact and relate with all of her fans...
So I'd like to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE...and a SPECIAL THANKSGIVING TO YOU STOYA for allowing some of your biggest fans (like me) to be able to connect with you on a slightly more personal level...YOU'RE THE GREATEST!
-JJ
(Don't let me be the only one to give thanks for "THE BEST NEW STARLET" out there...join along and give thanks to Stoya with me) ^_^

^Oh man I'm vegan but I gotta say Tofurkey is kinda gross. If anyone's thinking of having their first meatless Thanksgiving, maybe you should start with some kind of simple tofu dish, or mock chicken or something; Tofurkey is especially bad if you're not used to meat substitutes.

why fake meat when you can have real grain and vegegtables? if you don't want meat don't eat pretend meat. that's as dumb as non alcoholic beer. i love fried tofu on its own merits. it doesn't have to wear a hotdog mask to make me happy.
oh and Stoya Trademark will win, I predict, and that will be a good thing.

Personally I like seitan, which (even though I do eat meat now) I prefer over actual meat. Tofurky is pretty nasty, but turkey in general is usually gross if it isn't cooked by someone that really knows what they're doing.

My sister cooks a mean turkey. Its a succulent, herb infused, bird with stuffing to die for.
BTW, tofu contains a chemical which mimics estrogen in the body, so if a guy eats a lot of tofu, its similar to taking estrogen pills.
And Stoya, when are we gonna have our little discussion.

Well, a couple of weeks ago it sounded like you wanted to talk about marriage, homosexuality and religion as a set of concepts and then your post on the 16th sounded more like you want to discuss marriage in a less abstract way, which I find extremely boring. The former can be discussed at any time, the latter will be ignored.

I can do concepts. I'm an arts student, I excell at abstract.
So this is what we wrote:
What said on the 16th was, seeing as I can't find it, basically what the marriage tradition is based on now. It was sort of meant as a backgrounder, referencing my original post claiming that marriage is older than the church.
What specifically did you want to discuss? You mention marraige outside of religion, just current, or as it reflects to prop 8?

I'm definitely curious about your statement that marriage itself is way older than the church, mostly whether it's older in a legal sense, religious, or both. My main problem with prop 8 in general is that the legal rights of a 'partner', be it heterosexual, homosexual, or in a non sexual sense like a long term roommate shouldn't be contingent upon what I've always seen as a religious institution (separation of church and state, anyone?). From what I currently know, it seems like marriage is a religious concept that is almost inextricably tied up with legal rights, and if you know some things I don't then I'd be grateful for the education.

The Church, as in the Christian Church, dates from the late 1st century to early 2nd century AD. It never became a significant religion until the late 4th, early 5th century.
Organised religion is hard to place, the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) date to 1800 BC, about the estimated time of Abraham. Egyptian religion dates back about 3000 BC or so. The oldest known is the Sumerian, which dates back to between 5300 and 3500 BC. Interestingly, the Sumerian religious texts that have been discovered, have basically the book of Genesis, including the Garden of Eden, 1000 years before Moses, who was supposedly around 1300-1400 BC.
Thats a basic over view on the age of religions.
As well, religion as we know it it totally different from what it was then known as.
Religion is relatively new on the scene. The union of two peoples goes back much longer, and in fact can be evidenced in the animal world, with several species that mate for life.
But of course, while doing some research, all that has been rendered moot.
In the early Christian period, 1st - 4th Century, marriage was actually a private matter, with no religious ceremony required. In fact, it wasn't until 1545 that the Church required a priest to oversee a marriage. Since that was after the English split with the Roman Catholic Church, marriage was never officially a religious issue under English law, and is formost a legal issue. The US has become far more religious than the Constitution allows.
That is pretty much all off the cuff. Sorry for the poor, stream of conciousness style.
I know about Canadian and Ontario marriage law, so I'm writing under their influence. The US laws are a lot more confused.
Where I live, you need to get a licence to marry. All you need to do is fill out a government form, and you can have a civil or religious ceremony. Religion does not enter into it.
Prop 8, and a lot of US laws are messed up. Apparently, it is not possible to have a civil marriage in many US states, and that they have to be religious. That is news to me. I can now really see where you are coming from. Wow.
That research just totally threw my whole ideas and thoughts. I'm gonna post this now, and get back to you again on the prop 8 stuff, once I get everything sorted out.

Over here only civil marriages (which can be between 2 people of the same gender of course) are recognised by the law. Any religious marriage is just a private ceremony with no legal standing. I have actually never even been to a wedding in a church.

Marriage is a contract. At least in most secular if not all secular countries including India the marriage is not recognized by the state until the marriage licence is signed and a set amount of time elapses. You can have a wedding in a religious setting with a priest and all the flowers, but in the end the couple still needs to go to the court for the "marriage licence." And note that the courts issue marriage licences and divorce decrees. Most modern religions in the West totally ignore a divorce ceremony or recognition. The word marriage is embedded in the Anglo-American legal system. Unfortunately the modern Anglo-American legal system is based on John Locke's third "inalienable right" which was the "pursuit of property" (regardless of Jefferson's protest by inserting the more honourable "pursuit of happiness") and the legal history of "marriage" is interlaced with "property rights." The emancipation movements (be they the abolish of slavery movement , suffragette movement, sexual identity movement and animal liberation) all really are about a shift in perception of living beings being viewed as objects to entities with inalienable rights. Even the conflict between Tribal Peoples (American Indians) with European Invaders over territory is in essence a struggle over the issue of property versus an entity with inalienable rights. In most Tribal People's worldview Earth was (and is) our Mother who can not be owned and therefore can not be sold. Sadly Europeans once held this view too (and some still do like my Croatian grand aunts did).
Marriage is simply a contract between two individuals with the basic idea of merging property ownership. Sadly we foolishly trended down the path of "civil unions" with the dead end being that in most states "civil unions" did not completely equal the legal status of marriage. There is another approach to this. This is my idea. Instead of renaming marriage between couples of the same gender as "civil union" why not adopt a "new" name for the religious oath that is often associated as marriage. We have a word in old English for that and we still use it with a prefix. The word is "troth" as in "betrothal" or "betrothed." The Anglo-Saxon word "troth' means "oath" between two or more people with a sacredness associated with it. Troth is still used in Norse with its related word "tru" as in the modern revival of the Norse religion Asatru (the Troth of the Gods).
But marriage also has a lot of cultural baggage. We in the West tend to believe in "free love" and that our sweet little princesses will find prince charming someday and married and live happily ever after. In India (a place and situation I have first hand experience with) marriage is a contract between families. It is an exchange of property and property ownership. Sadly women in India (in most states of India) are still only recognized through a dominant male either their father, older brother or husband. Dowries and bridal prices (which officially are illegal) are direct signs of the ownership of a woman's sexuality and even to an extent her personhood. By the way sexist systems and patriarchal structures imprison women and men (and transgenders) alike. These systems limit the human being and the potential of what we could be, but given the structures of violence, misogyny and various gender and sexuality chauvinism these are the systems we have to use currently to try to find social justice or at the very least guide humanity through these systems into more open and potentially fulfilling systems.
Its ironic this topic comes up. In an really post I wrote that I am trying to write a book (a novel) set in the present and 50 years in a future. I wrote that one character was influenced by Stoya (actually an influence from a composite of about 5 different people I personally know plus reading or hearing interviews with Stoya makes me just shout "Wow you sound so much like this character). In part of the book I am writing that the topic of relationship or commitment is finally brought up with this character. Another major character has had a several sexual encounters with her and thinks and voices his desire that they are in a relationship. She quotes the anarchist Proudhon "Property is theft" and then says "and I am not an object and I am not property." Again the character is not solely based on Stoya but a composite of several people I have known such as a former university student of mine.

Hey Stoya!
I just want to say that you are by far the most beautiful girl currently working in the adult industry, and one of the hottest girls I've ever seen. I'm also very curious about your taste in women.
What do you think of these adult actresses:
Michelle Wild
http://www.eurobabes.info/Private-Stars/Michelle-Wild/
Anita Blonde

Lara Stevens

Kelly Havel

I was also wondering what you think of stuff like this:

Hi all and thanks to Arany as well. Well in Buddha, marriage also seem in the same perspective and yet not much different than you have. Since I am not the one who expert/scholar at Buddism, perhaps this article on Buddhism and Gay Marriage might help us to understand marriage on Buddhism way. Possible Richard Gere also practicing the same. You may ask him if you happen to see him there.
I used to learn Islamic way as well since in Thailand, we are practicing multi-religion eventhough most of us (90%) used to practice Buddha. I heard in the US esp in Washington state, there have a prominent Islamic organization as well so called ISNA which is currently lead by real American Muslim, Dr Ingrid Mattson. I am not so good at Islamic views in marriage. However, there are the strictest/stringent religion for the purpose of controlling strong sex desire and zina (adultery, sex outside marriage and perhaps free-sex). However, I am understand a bit well after a few reading Islamic Marriage and referring to a few youtube channel about Islamic perception towards marriage. I have seen a short Indonesian drama (with English subtitle) about 30 minutes (perhaps) on why Islam ask their devotees to stick with Islamic rules which will effect to their "life after death consequences". That slipknot bunny helmet thingy is slighty disturbing.
Stoya with Dana DeArmond and Sasha Grey seem like glorious pornocombos.

My favourite pic is the one of Sasha getting fucked while jamming her foot up Stoya's cooter.

Wow Patrick, it seemed she just pip (or has pipped) Sasha Grey "in this race". I love Sasha Grey for couple years ago. Stoya is about becoming a great and cool pornstar shortly. And I am not able to address more than this.
However, it was just come into my mind as been hiddenly addressed by Mr Stimuli, possibly she will be in "a gangbang movie" after Pirate #2 since the orgy has been done by the way. Who knows? And DP(Double Penetration) scene is still in daydreaming so far. Just to have to wait and see.
Ms Stoya, you may possibly have a-go on this.
