Do you know the fact when you ordered some adult dvds from erodvd.nl, the company's name in the card history has been recorded as "erovideo." I had some problem because of this.
I don't understand why erovideo's policy damages the customers' privacy.
Lately, I had a call from my country's custom house.
The reason is that I ordered 10 dvds from dvdadvantage.
The custom house men want to see my card history including the receipt for ordering from dvdadvantage.
But I couldn't show it. Because I'm afraid that they know that I ordered so many dvds from other sites of other countries. Espcially, I saw "erovideo" as a company name in my card history.
Why don't erodvd protect customer's privacy?
Unfournately, I ordered twice from erodvd last month.
So they can think I often ordered so many dvds and I can be fined so much money.
Maybe this kinds of things can happen to anybody.
So every adult dvd sellers should protect their customer's privacy.
I hope erodvd correct this as soon as possible.
I sent email to erodvd about this.
But 2 months passed, they don't correct it until now.
They said to me that they will call their card company.
Erodvd, if you can't protect your customers' privacy, you should give up selling your dvds.
Because you earn much money from your so many customers and you try to work for your customers.
I have bought so many dvds from many other sites.
Only the best site is "adultdvdnow."
They gave coupons to me when I couldn't get my order and I told the situation to them.
I think erodvd is good site we can buy european dvds.
So I hope erodvd correct this as soon as possible.

I've bought from them regularly many times and my credit card reciepts do not show up as "erovideo". They always show up as BAKHUIS VIDEO/SSL ALMELO. Right now I'm looking at 2 orders made in July, just over 2 months ago with the above on the statement.

I don't think I've ever personally had them recorded on my statement as "Erovideo".

Same for me. Never had erodvd or erovideo on my statement.

Haven't ordered from them for a few months, but I've had Erovideo before, more recently Bakhuis. I take the point, though, discretion is usually appreciated by porn shoppers!

To be fair, some stores specify the name that will appear on the bill. Erodvd do not, so I do not think it right to just assume some other name will appear. If the site is silent, and where the buyer is concerned about it, maybe there is an onus on the purchaser to send an email to ask before going ahead.

When I ordered adult dvds from "erodvd" last year, they showed up BAKHUIS VIDEO/SSL ALMELO. But in my statement, it began to show up "EROVIDEO V.O.F Almel." I use master card.
I don't know why it shows up "EROVIDEO V.O.F Almel." When I check my internet card history, it shows up "EROVIDEO V.O.F Almel." I hope erodvd solve this problem as soon as possible.

The last time I had "EroVideo" on my CC statement from them was back in December 2002. Orders since then have not had that. Perhaps they have more than one CC merchant account or machine?

Personally I am not bothered what it says, but I can understand why some people might be. From EroDVD's point of view, I think they ought to change it to satisfy those customers who might be concerned.

But is it really a general problem? I mean it's not a problem for me because I'm the only one who checks my creditcard statements so it doesn't matter to me how they list themselves.

Clearly it is a problem for some people, and generally many adult companies apply some discretion by using ambiguous business names when charging credit cards.

Some people, for example, just don't want their partner to see such things on their credit card statement, or if they feel embarassed about ordering porn when having to contact the credit card provider to deal with problems. Mania also mentions a call from customs - in these matters discretion is generally a good thing.

Let's face it, it makes no difference to customers who don't care either way, but it will be of some help to customers who require discretion when ordering porn, which can still cause legal problems, let's not forget. Re-reading Mania's original post does make me worry that a mere name change won't address all the issues he's concerned about.

Thank you everyone for answering kindly.
I got the email to correct it from erodvd.
And I believe that many adult dvd sellers had the chance to think it very important to protect their customers' privacy including "erodvd."
I think erovideo is a good site we can buy the cheapest dvds and get them safely.
I think three or four internet sites of all the adult dvd sellers will survive after a few years.
So I hope erovideo try to improve their websites to be a winner.

I sent Aline at erodvd an email a couple of days ago to let her know about this issue for some of her customers, which is about as much as I can do to help.

Hope it works out for you,

cheers,

Thanks for let me know.
I did contact the creditcard company and they told me this will never happen again.
It was their misstake because normally they charge you by my lastname "Bakhuis"

Kind regards,

Aline.

Seems to still be happening, I have this entry on my credit card statement dated 21 Nov 2003: EROVIDEO V.O.F Almelo NL

Though I am not overly concerned I would appreciate a little more discretion maybe!

As Athos says, it is still happening - my first order from them (November 03) showed up on my C.C. statement as 'EROVIDEO V.O.F Almelo'.

I contacted Aline about this and she told me that she had asked her Visa company to fix this up, but from these posts it seems they had not, so she said she'd speak to them again.

..which is about as much as I can do to help.

I'd suggest it's also worth emailing Aline directly when/if/as soon as this happens again, so she can get onto her CC company again ASAP.

cheers,

scipio
