1. There's loads of R18 material in the London stores and it would be difficult, unless you've already got a lot of material, and just based on box covers alone, not to come away with something worth the £20 (or £16 if you get 3) you'll have to shell out. 2. However, once you've got a few you're expectations will rise and your strike rate will fall. Hence your idea of recommendations. As I read it you mean recommendations out of what is commonly available in the London stores. Does a lot not depend on what you like and what you want to get ? There's no point in us making recommendations of x,y,z type if you like a,b,c type. What type of thing is it you are looking for ? Then people can try and assist by reference to what you can actually get in town.
3. All that said, I would highly recommend R18 Adult Entertainment Robot which you'll get in London. There's no circus acts stuff but it's the best all rounder I got last year. Great girls and outfits, set ups and picture. It's also UK. Timotei is also right that Viv Thomas' stuff is also easier to get in London and cheaper than the internet but, IMO, you have to be quite selective with VT (IMO). There's two Viv threads to pull up from the search function that will assist.
4. Of course, there might be some cuts in some material from US or Europe but that's the R18 territory. You might not like the idea of any cuts, even minor, but specific recommendations won't (Joey's observations about Sex Wives and Video tape aside !) be likely to point you to things that are uncut.
5. I think that minor 'cuts' (a few seconds here and there) are easier to live with, and are different to butchering. Certain studios seem to be prone to getting butchered. I've got 3 R18 Evil Angel titles. Based on what I now know, like Timotei, I would never buy another. From what Tricia says, you may well still have to get your EAs on the internet, but if you can start to order new EA's from the Euro stores at least they will arrive more quickly (and reliably). I am not saying that I would rule out all other R18 US items automatically, but I would carefully read the reviews on the internet to work out what I was or was not going to get for my money.
Edited to add that my observation about EA is, on reflection, based on the difference between the UK product and the US one bought over the internet. Doh. This question is about comparables of what you can get under R18. On that basis, it would be too harsh to say that EA titles under R18 should be avoided - an R18 EA title could still be better than a lousy title from AN Other co. Further, although you might not get he extras, AN Other co might not have had them to begin with.
6. I don't agree that domestic product is more expensive or (necessarily) inferior. The London prices are the same across the board. There are good UK products and there are crap US and Euro products and vice versa. Personally, I like UK products because I like to hear English spoken in an accent I associate with (which is obviously more likely to be the case with UK products).
