Let's look at the situation.

To be a regularly active producer of porn content with mainstream US studios, you need to be based in or live in one of the few cities in the USA where the studios shoot. Or a very regular visitor (which has costs and inconvenience). You are probably an Asian-American, of which there are only about 20 million in total (out of a global population of over 5 billion Asians).

You'll need an agent (and pay them). You will be expected to travel to the shoot and bring your own costumes at your expense. You will arrive on a set with a lot of strangers and shoot with talent you may not know or have met before. You'll be expected to handle very large male dicks. You will be paid one time for this work, even though in every other content industry people get paid each time the content is consumed. You will get very frustrated as you see your content being stolen and made available through dozens of 'tube' porn sites. But you will likely make a name for yourself and establish your brand widely, which can then be monetized through your own social media content.

Or...

You can choose to work whenever and wherever you want, including your own home. You can work with whomever you want, including your regular partner. You can deal with a dick size you are comfortable with. You can create content that is monetized for each consumer on a 'per-use' basis, providing a regular and consistent income stream that often exceeds potential earnings through mainstream porn. All you need are 10,000 subscribers paying $5 a month to have an income of $40k a month (after payments to the distributor like OnlyFans). And you use channels like Reddit forums, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Quora and others to reach and build an audience through 'teaser' short videos. And although there is a risk of your content 'leaking' and being stolen, this risk is far less than the rate at which mainstream porn is stolen. You may choose to travel to and work with a mainstream studio a few times, but that is purely as a branding exercise to help drive traffic to your own social media content.

Mainstream porn studios are being 'disintermediated'. The power (and the brand) increasingly resides with the talent, not the studio.

Consequently MOST new talent producing hardcore Asian-themed porn are now choosing the second option. This is especially true for Asians living across the Western world (Europe, ANZ, Canada, USA) that do not want to live or travel to a city with porn studios.

If you look at things from an Asian regional perspective, you have a number of factors in play:

Japan - a whole other porn universe! Literally (no exaggeration) thousands of women involved in making porn. And an increasing number now making hardcore and uncensored content. There are some stunning currently active Japanese pornstars. Never forget that one of the consistently rated top porn stars of all time was Maria Ozawa from Japan. There are no legal and very few society challenges to deal with.

Russia/CIS - Russia is an Asian country, as well as European, and there are several ex-USSR countries now in Asia (the 'Stans'). Several of the talent that I listed as currently active Asian pornstars come from these locations and shoot in Moscow, St. Petersburg or relocate themselves to Prague or Budapest and shoot for studios distributed through firms like Rocco or Analvids. They have developed a reputation for producing very exotic looking ladies who perform extreme hardcore.

Korea/China/Taiwan - culturally not nearly as open or prolific about women being involved in porn as Japan. Still societies with significant stigma and even legal challenges to participating in porn. So most talent interested in hardcore porn tries to fly under the radar through more private platforms such as OnlyFans. Many disguise their identities and mask their faces. Or they relocate!

South-East Asia (Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam) - there are many pornsites dedicated to shooting porn in these locations with local talent. Most seem to be made by Western male producers traveling through the region. And most of the talent is amateur in nature with few repeat scenes or established 'named' talent. Legal and society issues make establishing studios or being too high profile a problem, so most of the shoots take place in hotel rooms with girls using fake names who may only do this a few times. But there is no shortage of potential talent and there are hundreds of hardcore videos being made every year.

South Asia - huge social and legal issues around being involved in porn production. So most of the content is made by talent from South Asia now living in the West.
