It can't just be about dick size because Mr. Marcus, Justin Slayer Brian Pumper, L.T. and others have been very successful and aren't HUGE in that arena, so to speak. BOZ on the other hand who is considerable in that department, and has been pretty successful in some respects, seems to choose to perform in ensembles....Justin Slayer and now Diesel. He kind of seems to play second fiddle :). And it can't just be physical appearance because their are men that would probably be considered attractive that aren't headlining their own series. And there are some that are very successful, who I ain't naming LOL, that aren't ready for the cover of GQ. Even with regard to "cocksmanship," There is certainly second tier male talent sustain erections, provide substantial cum shots, and still not make it out the minor leagues. Is there a formula? And by success I mean, guys that headline their own series, or appear in tons of scenes and in the majority of the scenes when they do perform, or are in lots of movies. Justin Slayer, Rocco Siffredi, Rico Strong, Brian Pumper, Sean Michaels Lex Steele, Brandon Iron, Mr. Pete, seem to have a certain charisma. Is that what it is? Or is it about the male audience being able to identify or relate to them? Maybe drive? Then there have been those, that attempted to break out, trying to headline their own series, star in lots of scenes etc...and never seem to quite take off: Tee Reel comes to mind, Nat Turnher, Mark Anthony, Derrick Skeeter. Why is that? Personally, I find myself being less impressed with the porn Dream Team of male talent, and more impressed with those I see infrequently. Just some thoughts. [Link] |

The crews are experienced and leaders in their respective fields, too. A wide audience appreciates your work. There are quality productions that win major awards and become industry classics. Sweet! What is heaven for some is hell for others. Long hours on set, memorizing dialogue, 9am call times, etc. Blechhh. Any guy can set a goal and attain it as long as you make sacrifices. You can be your own boss if you do what you love to do. If you would do something for free, you might just get your wish! |

Because much of the sex action is either hidden and can only be felt by the actors but not seen by the viewers. Or the visible sex action doesn't look dramatic and dynamic enough. A guy who is a true showman will keep his audience in mind and exaggerate his sex actions on the lady in a way that looks good to the audience. Instead of just banging the lady for his own pleasure. He tries to show off like a stud and debauch the lady like a slut in the most spectacular way he can muster. A good showman can imagine what it looks like to his audience. Which enables him to do it for show rather than for his own pleasure. |

They are in porn mainly for their ability to provide a stunt dick. In a big chunk of scenes, you hardly ever see the guy in the first place and frankly from my perspective I prefer it that way. YMMV of course. Considering how many guys are "gay for pay" or openly bisexual, and will take just about any type of porn scene, straight/gay/bi/whatever for money and still turn in a good performance. I think all that is what makes a porn guy successful. I would imagine most measure success by their bookings. The more they get, the more successful they are. Whether or not this has anything to do with their love of women is likely pretty irrelevant. |

He found and tapped into a specific market. In other words he may have been a better business person, than Ferarra or the others, but I don't recall him ever being named "male performer" of the year either. And considering his current situation, which may have been a bit self inflicted, even his business acumen could be suspect. In any case the kind of porn that I enjoy features a guy who seems to be doing his best to drive his female partner mad with lust. |
| Dan Senior Member 2056 Posts 6/07 | I remember watching some of Max Hardcore's porn movies. And I'd say that he was successful because he was showing the kind of sex many porn-fans wanted to see. I didn't share his taste in women. But on a few occasions a few women I liked appeared in his films. And I really enjoyed watching Max have his way with these ladies. Because Max had a really good way of debauching these women's asses. He didn't just ride their asses. He did it for show. And his anal show was very good. |
