However, my enjoyment was countered by the shoddy presentation of this movie on disc. The visual quality oscillated between average and awful and this is pretty typical of movies from this period. Are soft looking, cropped versions of classic adult movies the best we can expect? I started wondering if we will ever see pristine copies of seventies classics in their original aspect ratio's. Is the poor presentation of classics on disc due to incompetence, disdain or the lack of quality elements? I wonder if the original negatives for movies like Through The Looking Glass or The Devil In Miss Jones still exist? Do 35mm prints exist anywhere? It strikes me as a real shame that so many of the classics are only available in versions that resemble home made bootleg videos. Edited by - sdc on Apr 19 2003 [Link] |

Even worse, some of the DVDs have been made from VHS copies created from old circulation prints of the original films because VHS copies are all that remain. It is really sad that many of these pornographic treasures have not be better cared for. Unfortunately, pornography is not likely to be considered a mainstream art form any time in the near future. ~ GaySatyr [Link] |
