So what is up with the over the ass tattoo? Seriously? Is there like a porn star orientation that every girl has to go to where they have a bunch of guys off in one corner doing over the ass tattoos? It seems like a girl can't be in the business for more than a month or two before she shows up somewhere sporting THE tattoo. Even girls who don't have any other tattoos get this one. It's really weird, considering that it's in no way attractive. I could maybe get my head around it if it was a somewhat desirable tatt or something elegant.

I know. I just can't figure out what's up with it. I mean you'd think there'd be a few girls without one. But you can almost count the days before it makes an appearance when a new girl shows up. You'd think maybe a girl here and there would say "No way! I'm not putting that thing on me!".

I have no idea. But then again I am not a tattoo person. I would always rather get the t-shirt then the tattoo.
Maybe people are forced to get them?
I don't know why they all are stupid looking "tribal" designs instead of just saying "I hate my parents".

I don't get the mass appeal either, and they aren't just popular with porn stars. I know a middle aged business woman who's just had one done, she was showing it off around the office. So much for any trendiness and cool factor they might have had.
It seems like every other time I see a chick with that bit of her body exposed she's got a set of generic ass antlers. There's a spell of hot weather at the moment, with a lot of people out wearing shorts and skimpy tops. Walking around town you see loads of tramp stamps, without even putting any effort into being a perv...
I wouldn't mind if there was some creativity in the art, but they all look like he same meaningless design. Is there a set of standardised tramp stamp stencils that all tattooists use?

When a girl as cute and homely looking as Casey gets one, you know no one is safe from the curse of the ink. This one I can live with, I hope she don't get anymore though.

Whatever the case, it certainly is doing a good job of showing how insidious the flock mentality in humans is. Even when something starts out with someone trying to be different, it ends with everybody following the herd.
Someone (who actually did have some interesting tattoos) once told me that people who get tattoos are expressing their individuality. As close as I can tell, having the same tattoo stamped on every other girl is closer to saying each girl is part of a group mind in which there are no individuals. And unfortunately, the group doesn't even have a nice logo.

As a matter of fact Dave, yes, there is. Go to your local tattoo parlour and check out the books of tattoo art. They will always have a section of 'tramp stamps' (though I imagine most tattoo artists won't refer to them as such) that most girls will choose from. Some girls come in with their own design, of course, but many just flip through the book and find one they like. I've seen girls doing it myself.

Its personal preference but don't they know they will get more work if they are not inked up. If the scene calls for tats, get some temporary ones.

I think they can be an illusory enhancement for girls with no curves in the waist/hips/ass regions. But they detract from a nice big prominent round booty.

Also known as "targets."
But in all seriousness I'm not really into tattoos, though if a girl would absolutely have to get a tattoo somewhere, my preference would be above the ass(and not because of the target thing, I just think it generally looks the best). But I prefer the all natural look so for me, the fewer/smaller tattoos the better.
And for the record, I think that above the ass tattoos are still 99999999999x better than above the boobs tattoos which you occasionally see-I REALLY can't stand those!!!

This is one of the biggest cliches on Earth at the moment. It is certainly not limited to porn. You see them EVERYWHERE! Like Random said, tattoos used to be a sign of individuality. Now they(especially lower back ones) represent complete & utter conformity. An entire generation of young ladies assimilated by the Borg. Did you guys see the awesome SNL skit about this topic? I'll just say the future is definitely not bright if one has a tramp stamp.

I agree, it is so cliche it is sickening.
I think it started with the low rise jeans and the belly shirts. The girls wanted to show off something more than just the small of their back plain.
Personally i love tattoos for their artistic appeal, but when they have no individuality to the point of being "hip" it is sad.

Do you guys think that the girls are actually getting less work because of their tattoos? Maybe they're working for different directors, but I think if they actually got less work, their agents would be advising against it.

Hmm.. yes, it's starting to look that the being untattooed these days is actually more unique than the other way around. Very strange.
Though I don't think directors actually care that much if the talent has tats. Perhaps I am mistaken, I don't know.

And to think Amy Ried spoiled her near perfect bod with a stupid tribal arm tat. Here she is the way Mother Nature made her before she defaced herself.

I've never seen a tattoo that could improve on the beauty of a woman's skin.
That said, there are three large-scale tattoos in the history of my porn-viewing that have given me wood:
Jandi Lin's avian back tattoo (phoenix, peacock, both, neither?) is unique, artistic, and absolutely stunning. I initially found Sophia Santi's back tattoo quite striking as well, but it seems to be morphing into a mix of more prosaic and less interesting images (including a dancing girl and a scaly, dragon-like creature). Viper's tattoo was so over-the-top outrageous and confrontational that it, taken together with her pierced nipples and clitoris, was like a line drawn in the sand -- which was completely consistent with her in-your-face persona as a porn performer.

Amy also has the dreaded finger tattoo. I think it's some kind of initial. Needless to say, I agree with many here that tats do not improve a womans looks...

Well, I don't know whether they do or not. I don't really think they get less work. I see lots of girls with tattoos doing lots of work. But I personally usually avoid scenes with girls with THE tattoo. That is unless I really like her. For instance, Hailey young has a few tattoos but she's just so damn fine and her performances are usually so good I just don't care. But I still wouldn't complain if she didn't have them.

Thinking about getting a tattoo but are a little bit reluctant, a little wary, a little gun shy? I don't blame you, I was too, at one point. I've got some good news for those of you who are sitting on the fence, and it's news that will set the tattoo industry on its collective ear:
There is a new ink that will be released any day now that is going to radically change the way we look at tattoos. The tattoo artists, shop owners, dermatologists and those who sport tattoos will all be strongly affected by this new ink. This new tattoo ink is called Freedom-2. Many tattoo parlors are not aware of Freedom-2.
I've always sorta wanted a tattoo but was never really sure. I read where 1 out of 5 people who get a tattoo later get it removed. That's a whole lot of regret going on! That is why I never got a tattoo. Cause I might regret it. I figured that I could be that one person out of the five. People should know that the tattoo removal industry is a big one. A huge one. Almost as big as the viagra pill industry and I'm not joking because I researched the subject online.
But now that they have the Freedom-2 ink I've decided to go ahead and get a tattoo.
And if my local parlor gives me any lip because I want to use Freedom-2 ink, I'll ask him point blank if he's being paid off by the dermatologist industry. It's a lot less work (meaning less sessions) to remove a tattoo made with Freedom-2 ink and that means less money in the pockets of the dermatologists. As the article mentioned, some tattoos tend to fade. Fading will no longer be an issue with Freedom-2. All it'll take is just one session to erase it, that's it, just one session, compared to 4 or 5 sessions with regular ink - and then that person can have a new tattoo put on.
A tattoo parlor owner will diss Freedom-2 ink by whipping out the, "Get outta here! A tattoo is meant to stay on a persons body forever and therefore Freedom-2 sucks so I refuse to stock it on the shelf because I'm true to my art" card. Bunk.
He's not telling you the truth because parlor owners make a great deal of money from doing cover ups. Cover ups earn all the parlors a lot of money. If you use Freedom-2 ink, cover ups will be a thing of the past. Suffice to say that both the dermatologists and the tatto parlor owners do not think highly of Freedom-2 ink because they stand to lose money from it. Harvard University, on the other hand, studied Freedom-2 and have nothing but good things to say about it. I posted the link to the Harvard University study at the bottom of this post.
The San Diego parlor that I choose to put a tatt on me better offer Freedom-2 ink or I'm gonna take my business elsewhere. If you're having a tough time finding a tattoo parlor that offers Freedom-2 ink to the customer, tell the parlor that you'll only use Freedom-2 ink and if they don't stock it you'll go to a tattoo parlor that does. That's what I'm gonna do.
It's all about supply and demand. The bigger the demand the sooner they'll wake up and start using Freedom-2 ink.

I have to throw my 2cents in on this one. The "tramp stamp" is very important to me. It makes it a lot easier for me to identify possible newbies for me to pick up at the mall. And so far its working out great.

To each his own... we can't please all of you and true perfection is impossible. Therefore, the girls are in most cases just getting tattoos for themselves (for whatever reason).
Yes, tattoos are trendy these days but that doesn't necessarily take away from the individuality of the girl or her choice of ink. It is more common because it has become more mainstream and accepted by society. Although don't get me wrong, even though I will always defend the concept of body art (since I am one of those girls), there are some mistakes people make out there. I just think some of you are generalizing by categorizing all of us inked porn girls as societal cattle. We all have our reasons. I, for one am an artist, therefore, I appreciate various art forms and very carefully designed and thought out my body art in relation to my Japanese heritage.

To Ryderskye -
Yes. I will say I was generalizing a bit. And thank you for taking the time to post, BTW, because I think your tattoos are actually the antithesis of what I was really talking about. If tattoos can be sensual, your tattoos are about as close to it as I've seen. I was talking about all the girls who get exactly the same tattoo. Or at least it seems like it. There may be some minor differences if you really look. I just think the standard over the ass tattoo looks tacky because they don't even try to make any effort to get something unique. I mean, I'd prefer to see pure unmarked skin but at least if they made some kind of effort at individuality and creativity it wouldn't be so irritating.
Believe me. I make every effort to avoid thinking of porn women as cattle or anything like that. But it takes some effort on both sides. I can only go so far. If every girl has what for all intents and purposes appears to be the same tattoo, how am I supposed to ignore that when it's right there above her ass (where I'll be looking most of the time)? What am I supposed to think if a girl can't be enough of an individual to do something even slightly different? What is she trying to say to me if she has practically the same tattoo as every other girl in the porn business? I started this thread because I thought maybe there was some significance or meaning to it that I wasn't aware of.
Your tattoos actually appear to have some meaning (although I can't read the symbols) and they actually contrast very nicely with your skin. And it appears as though you actually put some thought into them. I have a much harder time criticizing yours than I do some girl who appears to have just went to a cheap tattoo parlor and told the artist to stamp something popular on her back.

I am with RP on this one. I go out of my way to avoid movies where the stars are tattooed. I don't think I have ever replayed a scene with a tattooed girl more that once. Its fast forward as soon as I see ink.

Did you spend much time reading their official site for Freedom 2 ink?
From the Official Freedom ink site: On their press photos page the only colors they seem to be able to do are black and red/brown.
If you are going to write a concise post I shouldn't need to be googling any keywords to get your point. I understand you're new. But it's standard practice not to include partial links in posts and then ask readers to google the stuff themselves.

Someone actually got "Freedom 2" tattooed on their arm just to show what this new "Freedom 2" ink looks like. I know it's supposed to come off easily, in just one (likely very painful) session; but getting tattooed still hurts like all hell. I should know, I got a big one on my back, and no others after that. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but one's enough for me. I hope that poor sap got paid very handsomely...
