Now studios have figured that one bad disc might make you avoid their product so quality has improved quite a bit.
all cases are bad for discs. I always put them in sleeves.

In addition, my mainstream film library now totals well past a thousand titles. Something I have noticed: Among those thousand-plus mainstream films in my library, nearly all of which were purchased from online vendors, only around three or four titles arrived loose in their cases. All of them were replaced by the vendors. But as far as porn goes, I would say that, at the minimum, I've received no fewer than around twenty "rattlers" — possibly more. Eventually, I get a non-rattler from the vendors, but only after several tries. Why are porn DVDs arriving like this in such higher numbers? Another thing: Many of the porn DVDs are player-sensitive, whereas none of the mainstream film titles are. For example, Wildlife's All Pissed Off series, at fourteen titles, plays on only two of my current three players; the player upon which they will not play gives me an "unreadable disc" screen. This happens often with porn discs, but never with mainstream films. Further, the errant discs are not DVD-Rs or such. They are bonafide DVDs. Any thoughts on why this should be? Even the better adult companies will only view a movie in the 3 or 4 DVD players that they have in the office before determining that it is good. The mainstream companies will perform much more extensive tests. |

| pornologist Member 724 Posts 12/04 | I've had about 60 to 70 adult dvds stop working or develop some type defect, all were in mint condition, all properly cared for, usually only watched once and 99% were Evil Angel titles. I've never had a problem with a mainstream dvd, I never had a problem with most of the other top porn companies dvds ( Anabolic, Platinum, WCP, VCA...). |

I've experienced some bad european presses so now I try to get only US pressings. I guess we have to put our hope in blueray... But it's strange... cuz I'be NEVER EVER had a audio compact disc turning on me... and those discs are 10 years or more. Edited by - Gunzo on 7/5/2005 6:01:13 AM |
