I liked "Joy" even with the whole "rape" for laughs storyline but it's so silly you can't take it that seriously. Sharon Mitchell was great in her role

Was thrilled to see that the new Melusine pre-order releases include MIDNIGHT DESIRES!! I truly love that little film and every time I see it on my shelf I think dang, wish someone would restore that crappy copy. Finally I get my...desire. :)
The other release is INTIMATE LESSONS, which I haven't heard of even though it's directed by Philip Marshak (Dracula Sucks, Blue Ice) and is from my favourite era. Obviously I ordered it, so we shall see. :)
^ I quite agree about Midnight Desires. It's an oddball little movie that I am very fond of (and with a very pleasing cast). Not too long ago I rewatched it on the poor print I have, lamenting its quality, and welcome this new offering.
With the hint on the Melusine site the Command title being released is going to be Farewell Scarlet (1975). I'm thrilled a Command title is being released also a film of theirs I do not have in my collection.
Farewell Scarlet (1975) was a Chuck Vincent film written by Cecil Howard on the Command label. I was pleasantly surprised it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Midnight Desires (1975) the commentary with Shaun Costello was outstanding the fantasy sex scenes throughout the movie were incredibly hot this is the most I've enjoyed an adult film in quite a while.

Melusine has Cecil Howard's Neon Nights and a 4K release of Radley Metzger's The Image (based on the novella by Catherine Robbe-Grillet) now up on their site. Both a real classics There's also a Quality X double feature of Hyapatia Lee, Ribald Tales of Canterbury and Tasty (the one based in a radio station).
Neon Nights (1981) is a very special film to me and I couldn't be more happy that Melusine is releasing it on Blu-Ray. Cecil Howard is my all time favorite adult film director, I collected all his films in 80s on VHS. In 1982 while high school a friend and I played hooky one day and went to the Shirly Duke Theater in Alexandria Virginia to watch Neon Nights. The only film I of Cecil Howard that I like better than Neon Nights is Firestorm (1984) and Platinum Paradise (1980) would be a very close third. Thanks Melusine they don't make great adult films like this anymore.

All Night Long and Tapestry of Passion double feature is coming from Melusine, formerly released on DVD by VS. Both are fun films, I believe it was GGG who turned me on to Tapestry of Passion.
I remember a trailer for All Night Long being at the end of some ancient VHS tape so being able to see the whole film. A very light comedy with some hot sex scenes.
Other recent releases include Blonde Goddess, a surprisingly good comic anthology and a killer collection of Sunny/Nightbirds/Vixens of Kung Fu. All worth getting I think. I'm trying to pace my purchases but will be getting all of these eventually.
Ever since they were children Angela and her brother Peter have been as close as siblings could be. But when their relationship crosses the line from fraternal love to unnatural lust, Peter withdraws to become a priest, attempting to sever all contact with his sister. Hopelessly devoted to her brother and devastated by this abandonment, Angela soon experiences the physical manifestations of his guilt, as Peter sends her to work as a maid for a sadistic couple. Soon, Angela is thrust from one horrifying experience to the next; her body affecting an almost otherworldly draw from men whose only goal is to abuse and humiliate her. All the while they repeatedly cross paths with the mysterious “fireworks man,” an almost devilish presence who may be manipulating the lives of both Peter and Angela. The second feature directed by groundbreaking filmmaker Wes Craven (Last House on the Left, A Nightmare on Elm Street), THE FIREWORKS WOMAN (aka The Fireworks Man) ranks as his most structurally experimental effort as well as his most controversial. Craven's sole foray into hardcore is both brimming with dark religious commentary as well as venerating essential works of underground erotic literature. Quality X is thrilled to present The Fireworks Woman fully uncut for the first time on video and newly restored in 4K from its best surviving film elements, along with extensive interviews which lend both historical and first-hand value to this mysterious and long obscure production.
directed by: Wes Craven starring: Eric Edwards, Jennifer Jordan, Jamie Gilis, Erica Eaton, Marc Stevens 1975 / 78 min / 1.37:1 / English DTS-HD MA 1.0

San Francisco based Jim & Artie Mitchell were at the forefront of bringing the sexual revolution to American cinema. Working within their filmmaking collective known as Cinema 7, the brothers and their group of regular artistic collaborators created dozens of intelligent, thought provoking, and radically minded erotic feature and short films. Mitchell Brothers Film Group will bring their extraordinary body of work to Blu-ray and 4K UHD in deluxe, restored editions, many of which will be coming to disc for the first time.
Gloria Saunders arrives at a quiet, bayside hotel for a relaxed evening. But the tranquility of her stay is quickly interrupted when a trio of men violently kidnap her, bringing her to a strange club. Confused and frightened, Gloria is soothingly informed that she is to be the centerpiece of an elaborate sexual performance which will fulfill her deepest longings and hidden desires, only to have no memory of the experience after it concludes. With no choice but to participate, she is prepared and brought on stage where anonymous lovers of all types begin to emerge through the mysterious green door. A low budget, but highly ambitious effort which would become one of the biggest X-rated hits of the 1970s, The Mitchell Brothers' landmark BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR made an international sensation and bonafide star out of its leading lady, Marilyn Chambers (Rabid), while also becoming one of the first hardcore features to win mainstream acclaim for both its technical innovation and artistic merits. With a supporting cast including Johnnie Keyes (SexWorld), George McDonald (Powder Burns), NFL star Ben Davidson (The Black Six), and many more figures from San Francisco’s underground and counterculture art scenes, which helped further develop its cult reputation, BEHIND THE GREEN DOOR at last comes to 4K UHD and Blu-ray, from the Mitchell Brothers Film Group. This genre classic is newly restored from its 16mm camera original alongside a bountiful selection of special features, including a bonus CD containing its outstanding original soundtrack.

One of the best things that has happened was Melusine acquiring the rights to the Command Cinema library of films. I have been quite pleased with the releases so far. The most recent Star Angel (1986) one of my favorites. I was really happy to see this get released on Blu-Ray for the first time. I do wish that someone who was close to film could have given a commentary track. 40 plus years of watching Adult Films Angel (A.K.A Brandee, Jennifer James) is my all-time favorite to me she is one of the most beautiful women ever to appear in an Adult Film. Not much is known about her she is at her best here working for Cecil. Like Melusine did with Babylon Pink it would have been nice to see Dangerous Stuff (1985) one of the first Shot On Video of quality to be included in the extras, hopefully we'll to see it at a later date. My fingers are crossed that October Silk and Platinum Paradise get a Blu-Ray release date.

Rewatched Behind the Green Door in 4k. When I first got into xxx features you had to watch them on old, wornout VHS and tape transfers in DVD so we're so spoiled to have so many classics like this, the Cecil Howard and Chuck Vincent films and Fireworks Woman available in such amazing condition.
I did put in a pre-order for High School Memories (1980) VCX a very fun film that I had recorder off cable and viewed numerous times during the early 80s. Having never seen the hardcore version of the film I couldn't be more happy that Melusine got their hands on this title and are releasing it on Blu-Ray. Also the film has quite a few of my favorites from The Golden Age Of Porn like John Leslie, Annette Haven, Richard Pacheco, Jamie Gillis, Dorothy LeMay, Lysa Thatcher, Diana Holt ( she only had a handful of films to her credit.), I'm just now realizing there is a one shot wonder here Lynn Samuels. Anthony Spinelli started out as the director and Godfrey Daniels of Insatiable (1980) Marilyn Chambers fame took over for what reason I don't know.
I'm grateful that Vinegar Syndrome is releasing on Blu-Ray Cecil Howard's last film also his only non porn film Dead Boyz Can't Fly. I was totally unaware this film ever got any kind of release of any kind whatsoever. This was definitely an immediate pre-order a film I've been wanting to watch forever !!!!

I'm also a fan of High School Memories. I also dig Raw Talent which they are also releasing but ordering from the US is really expensive these days due to shipping, etc. so I have to stagger my order. Miss when VS had a Canadian shipping outlet which made ordering a lot less expensive.
^ Can't remember if it was Snake Eyes or Firestorm that had a great trailer. I didn't know who Rikki Harte was at the time. Joanna Storm is the one I remember from those films. I was a Brooke Fields fan, so she may have been he reason I had an interest in Snake Eyes.
