I've been watching porn for about 18 years now and have noticed over the last several years that it's difficult to find a descently shot movie nowadays where we get to see all the girl. It seems all these directors like to do is film extremely close up shots and keep the camera there for the duration of the movie-how boring! The distributor "Collateral Damage" is notorious for this and even though they cast really hot looking chicks, I won't ever waste my money there again. At least shoot a variety of shots. In addition to these closeups, they also tend to always film from the floor up. What happened to the classic angle shot from the center where we can see all of the girl? Maybe I'm getting too fussy in my old age but do you guys really like this stuff the way it's shot? It seems harder and harder to find a good director-Michael Ninn's movies used to be shot good but even he's falling more and more into this type of filming. Andrew Blake is a classic example. His movie "Night trips" was awesome the way it was shot. Now whenever he does shoot a straight scene (hardly ever anymore), the editting is so lame. You mentioned Blake and Randall, so you might be interested in going through the Feature forum. There might be some more things for you there along the 'classic' lines you describe. Also I would suggest reading reviews. Try and find a reviewer that sees things the same way you do, and then you have found a gold mine. Films, color one customer lost. We have this discussion about every six months between those that love the closeups, and those like me that love the more full body shots. As one who enjoys porn for the women's body first, the more I see of it, the better. Interminable closeups of any aspect; genital, facial, or otherwise, bore me to distraction, and will have me on the fastfoward button as quick as I can find it. It's one of the reasons that I'm not a big POV guy either. And editing that takes me from one closeup aspect, directly to another is very annoying as well. I see the need for closeups and understand their value, but most gonzo, (and I will NEVER go to features), just stays locked on too long. And I would much rather see a pan or zoom in and out when transitioning, than direct cuts from genital closeup to facial closeup and back. Also tired of interminable low angle and up angle shots as well. Above the action frontal and side shots are MUCH BETTER, because again, my objective is the entire female body and it's movement. My final complaint is with blowjob shooting. Yeah, I know where the action is, and it's gonna be ninety percent closeup, and or POV, but directors PLEASE back away for awhile and give us entire body shots as well of boy standing - girl kneeling blowjobs. That is the most erotic vision in porn for me, and we get that only when they are first undressing, or when they are transitioning from blowjob to fucking. The rest of the time we're pretty much in the girl's nostrils. BSD P.S. - Gotta give some props. The people at Evil Angel, especially the crews that shoot with Justin Slayer and Jules Jordan do a good job with panoramic views and angles of the action. In the last two JS joints I've seen, his cameraman has done a wonderful, slow 360 degree walk around the action during boy-girl doggies, stopping at various aspects, that were just magnificent. Really captured the emotion as well as glorious action. Really good stuff. [Link] |
