And yes I'm not relying solely on shoot for income- this isn't about income mostly- it's about my porn career and shooting for mainstream companies that will give me the exposure I need. I've been trying and trying to promote myself- going with different agencies etc. It will be a year in April since I started doing adult and I've probably only done about 10 shoots total mainstream. This is coming from a young white girl who enjoys anal and wants to get booked for hardcore and DP stuff as well. I had ten shoots my first month of doing porn. Since then, I'm lucky to get 3 shoots a month and most of these shoots are amateur shoots for clips sites, not professional productions which means I'm doing my own hair and makeup and also providing my wardrobe for these shoots. Actually I haven't worked for a mainstream production since last September which should tell you something since it's February now. I don't need 5 mainstream shoots a week- ideally 2 a week is good for me. But apparently I don't have the "right look" for companies. All any company wants nowadays is to shoot pretty young blonde 100lb 5 ft girls with no tattoos and gorgeous symmetrical faces. They call it the "girl next door look". Well, it's 2017 and I can tell you with certainty that the girl next door has tattoos and piercings. Unfortunately the majority of the demographic that still pays for porn is stuck in a 1950's mentality when it comes to the look of girls in porn. Quite frankly, it smacks of pedophilia because women that look grown (unless they're MILFS) aren't getting the work that girls who barely look 18 are getting. I'm SOL because not only do I have tattoos- I don't look 18 and I'm curvy (not fat) with red hair and brown eyes. I could have the best performances in the world but it don't mean a thing when the very companies you want to showcase your talent with don't even look twice at you. Why for the love of god don't Reality Kings, Wicked, New Sensations, Naughty America, Teen Fidelity, HardX, DarkX, Mike Adriano, Nubiles, ArchAngel etc don't want to shoot me? Every other new girl I know has shot with most of these companies, even if she's no longer in the biz. These girls have had MUCH more opportunity than me. I'm a hard worker and a great performer. I don't get it. Last September I tried emailing producers myself and getting work but no one took me seriously and they actually made fun of me for doing it. Yes I've been with three agencies and they all play favorites- 101 modeling (which booked me for all my stuff in june and then suddenly stopped booking me work to focus on the girls in the "upper half" of their roster), VIP connect (which everyone hates shy love apparently because she owes lots of people money and the only thing they were able to book me for was a private), foxxx modeling (Chris is nice but he didn't try hard enough to get me work and released me from his agency without me even knowing until I went on his site and didn't see my picture on there anymore). And now I'm with Black Rose who actually has been very nice, upfront and courteous with me but they mostly focus on Florida bookings and have only been able to get me amateur stuff here (and not that much of it), not that knocking their agency, it's actually very underrated. Every other agency- nexxt level, oc modeling, la direct, ATM la, motley, hussie, society 15 has rejected me. The advice I did get from people, while good seemed patronizing. "You need to webcam" was the most common response I got followed by, "shoot your own content and sell it on manyvids/clips4sale". Look, I'm totally down for shooting content but at the end of the day I need to pay the bills before I focus on selling online content. I shoot content when I can afford it, which nowadays is rare. Male talent like Chris Strokes will hit me up on twitter and want to shoot content with me for free, instead of paying me to shoot. I'm tired, poor and quite frankly feel ugly and not good enough for porn. Which makes me think porn would be better off without me because clearly there's no room for intelligent talent who doesn't fuck off camera in this industry. Who has a business sense about them. I'd love to produce my own stuff but I don't have the resources or connections to make that happen. Porn as we know it is dying and it's because producers/directors shoot what THEY want and what makes THIER dicks hard, not what the fans want. Not all producers of course, but most. The status quo hasn't changed a bit in 5 years and I highly doubt it's going to change anytime soon. Contact macimayxo@gmail.com Twitter @Maci_MayXO [Link] |

| ArielBlue Member The new face of extreme hardcore 207 Posts 7/16 | Monthly cost of living for an average pornstar: Rent- $1000/mo (for a spot in a model house) Testing- $150-165 every 2 wks (depending on if talent testing or cutting edge testing) Phone- $70/mo Food-$250/mo ($63/wk) Travel- $150/mo (for Uber/Lyft/gas), more if paying for flights Extras (wardrobe/hair/nails/waxing)- $200/mo GRAND TOTAL: $1735/mo (this is BEFORE agency fees which range from 10-20% per shoot) aka approx 20k/yr It shouldn't be impossible for me to do porn and afford to live. And I do have fans, just check my twitter. The problem is directors/producers that don't give me the opportunity to shoot for them. Contact macimayxo@gmail.com Twitter @Maci_MayXO |
