I think you mean WMV-HD-DVD. It was a short-lived standard for HD material on a normal DVD. To watch it you need a fast computer. You can't watch it neither on a HD-DVD-player nor BR-player.
yeah it's the wmv disc, my computer can't handle it either :( My last question promise, is there an actual HD-DVD of this movie available in some sets? How would I know which to get to avoid getting the wmv one again if so.
Instead of buying a new set I think you should try to get the disc exchanged. Contact one of the ADT-members working for Digital Playground, Adella or codybangs. And if you have any further question, just go ahead. That's what forums are for. Edited by - juha on 8/31/2008 5:14:24 PM
If you end up buying another one I would ask the stores to check the back. I don't remember what the front looked like anymore but the back specified it was a WMV disc on the initial release and then specified that it was an HD-DVD on the second release. You do have an actual HD-DVD player correct? As the HD-DVD won't play on a standard player nor will it play on a Blu-ray player.
So are all versions of this the same (except for BR)? This one is listed as HD https://www.adultdvdtalk.com/price_search/search_item.dlt/sku=107654/pirates-(hd-dvd).htm
