My god, this was so, so close to being the coolest thing I'd ever seen. But believe it or not, I think it needed to be even goofier.

I'm not a musical theater kind of guy. Of the 240something mainstream DVDs I own, not counting animated films, only one is a musical (Jesus Christ Superstar, still my favorite Paul Thomas movie). But this is my kind of concept, because, as a porn movie, it's kind of inherently a parody of a form that's pretty surrealist to begin with. There's a sort of double irony I know I'm going to like.

But after a sensational opening 10 minutes -- Randy Spears singing through a blowjob, then a demented singing penis number -- the next hour or so is almost a normal movie. The only musical numbers are songs being sung by singers. Meaning, it makes sense for them to be singing. Isn't the point that the people aren't supposed to be singing?

Eventually we get to a scene where the three butlers on which Misty is practicing her fellatio get to sing about how she's doing. It's fucking brilliant. This is the absolute quintessence of what I hoped this movie could be. It's uproarious, and not a bad song. Plus there's cocksucking. I literally can't ask for more.

I wish the whole movie could have been like that. Too much of the rest is just like a music video, and not enough like a goofy fucking Broadway show. I'm also not a fan of Sunset Thomas, and I wish someone else had been the lead. Julie Meadows, who does great in her role, would have been fantastic.

Can there possibly be another movie like this someday? I hope so. It can be done even better, I think.

And I still liked it better than "Chicago."
