I just watched Dirty Movie from VCA, and was very pleasantly surprised by what I saw. Within the last year or so VCA has become one of my favorites if not my favorite feature company. Although they aren't up to the technical level of Wicked yet, the mix of girls and original plots make them worth watching.

Anyone else with thoughts on this?

My porn viewing has dropped about 25 percent this year, and I stopped looking for VCA titles post-Hart/Passolini. I didn't get into the Eon McKai stuff. So I should be looking in their direction again?

Agreed!
I think this has to do with VCA being sold to Hustler some years ago.

BTW, ObiBong, nice new avatar. Renée Fleming has a beautiful voice.

In the past they had the best mix of contract stars, good sex, and technical aspects. That was back in the Juli Ashton/Stacy Valentine days. Since the beginning of the DVD period, they seem to have gone downhill.

VCA is a bad company. They own more classics than anyone else but have released less! What they have released has been cut beyond comprehension!

When VCA was accquired by Flynt Distributing (Hustler), their superb library was also absorbed, including the ownership of several (if not all) of the Essex Video titles. Word has it that the desire to market / release classic DVD's is something that Flynt is not interested in. Thus, Caballero (who once was the largest adult company) is releasing many, many '80's titles - some good, some schlock, as their library also includes the Vidco titles.

OK so that explains why Essex titles are hard to find on dvd. Fortunately, Excaliburfilms released some of them on dvd (including my favorite guilty pleasure "Fleshdance").

That's too bad about Flynt. VCA had the best movies for a while. All kinds of stuff I'd want to buy, as opposed to what Hustler (by and large) puts out now.

I rather like some of the new VCA stuff. I just picked up Atomic Vixens and Joanna's Angels 2. And I dig thier roster of directors specifically Ron Royster, Joanna Angel, Benny Profane and Joe Gallant.
