Earlier on this board, a representative from Adult DVD Now stated regarding their price matching that they would match beat the price of each DVD that the a competitor beat them in price on. They also said they would not honor competitors price matches AND coupons or other offers EXCEPT they would match a total offer from ONE SITE. The example used was that if a site had free shipping, a better price, and a coupon they would honor all at $1 off each DVD, so long as all title price comparisons came from that site. It made sense, because if they didn't their price matching could easily be more expensive! The only requirement was that all DVD's to be pricematched had to be from that one site. Is that the offer everyone else understood?

Well, unless my understanding of Adult DVD Now's offer is completely off, they just went back on that offer, to my detriment. I ordered the Imma Youjo Box Set plus some filler to meed 5 Star DVD's free shipping requirement, and their $5 off $55 coupon, and Adult DVD now, despite their prior approval of the exact same situation refused the match. Now the coupon is expired and I feel like I've been skrewd by Adult DVD Now, because not only didn't they honor thier stated policy, I cannot get the offer from 5 Star DVD anymore!

Pebturedly,
Councelor

Did they provide you with an explanation for not price matching this box set?

I'm not familiar with the details of their price match program so I don't want to speculate.

From their site it says “This offer cannot be combined with any other offer.” So I am assuming that the coupon might have messed this up for you. You state that in the past you have done the same thing. Well that could be, but maybe they are tightening this policy, which is their choice, to cut down on losses. I know that when Reel.com was still a store, you could price match, but not use a coupon, but when they first started this policy, you could use a coupon and price match at the same time, but they had to change that because they were loosing to much money. Personally I support adultdvdnow because they would loose to much money that way. Maybe if you email them back, asking for the coupon to be removed, but still have the price match, they will do it for you.

No, they I haven't taken advantage of this offer before, but on this board (or was it the regular DVD Talk),
their representative explained that they ONLY would honor coupons and shipping specials if ALL DVD's matched were from the same site.

On the bright side, where Adult DVD Now failed, 5 Star DVD came through with flying colors. They agreed to honor the offer since I had sort of ordered it before the deadline. Cudos 5 Star, Hisses Adult DVD!!

Fellow Customers,

I am really concerned about the above topic! As the CEO of this company, I can honestly tell you, this price match SHOULD NOT have been declined! In fact, I find it hard to believe that we would of refused such a price match.

I would appreciate it, if the above customer would contact me, so I could find out how this all came about and which customer service agent declined the match.

Our Low Price Guarantee is rock solid, and has never been denied to any customers, unless the prices could not be verified. If the prices were verified, the deal is beat! And you all get a free one, after buying five titles within a year. You can't beat that anywhere!

Regarding the use of coupons, if you use a coupon from another site, then you must also have us price match from that same site. This way, we will beat the competitors deal as a package. Yes, we may lose money sometimes, but we hope you will be impressed with our quick service and return.

So, again, please let me hear from anyone who is NOT satisfied with our service. My personal e-mail is

jbarron@alphacomdvd.com

Thank you.

Hmm...I'm sure Councelor would let us know if he wasn't happy. Boy, does ADT have clout, or what? Where else can you get the immediate attention of the CEO? But, as a business owner myself, I would just like to remind people to make sure that all other means of addressing the problem have been explored before posting a headline that could hurt someone's reputation - and in business your reputation is everything . It could be just a new employee not familiar with the policy, or maybe even not their fault at all - but the damage is already done, even if you post a positive update. Just my two cents...

dumblonde - thanks for the comments - i agree wholeheartedly. we're lucky to have such responsive retail partners. it would be great if people would post their positive shopping experiences as i'm sure they far outweigh the problematic ones.

I think it's great that customers can express their unhappiness, but I feel it's only fair that they repost and give praise when either it was a misunderstanding or a company responds quickly and solves the problem. All companies have problems at some point, but it's how they fix it that truely matters.
