I was very happy to get my copy of Anita Pearl is Fresh on Cock today. But after putting it in my player, I'm really angry now
This is the 3rd DVD in a row from Christoph which is shot in 16:9 HD, but coded in 4:3 format on the disc. On my 16:9 TFT TV this leads to a peephole with big black bars all around. Sure I can zoom the picture up, but this makes it not only bigger but also very fuzzy. The same shit happened with Big Naural Tits 21 and Top Wet Girls 2. The last one, that was ok, was Cindy Hope is Fresh on Cock.
On the other side I never had this problem with any Raul Cristian DVD, who also shots in 16:9.
And now the question: Why is Evil Angel not able to code the DVDs from Master Clark in the right Aspect Ratio? I will not buy another DVD from Evil Angel until this problem is solved, it's unacceptable in my opinion. As it is now, it would be better if Christoph goes back to his old camera and shot his movies in 4:3 again. Then I would have a bigger picture on my screen (only bars on the left and right)

Where did you buy your copy of the DVD?
I'm not in the office today, but I asked a couple people there to look at this.

Hello Camaban,
I'm looking at this problem right now. Can you please tell me where the bars are on your screen. On my player you only see the bars on the top and bottom and they are fairly thin. Please let me know so we can take care of this problem immediately!
Thanks

You look at it via a 4:3 TV, right?
I have relatively thin bars on the top and the bottom, and very big bars on the left and the right and in the middle is the picture who is very small, like a peephole. But with a 16:9 picture I should have no bars at all on my TV. The menus (Chapter menu, Extra menu, ...) of the DVD are in 16:9, that means I have no bars, but when I go into the movie then the bars are coming up.
My DVD player shows a Aspect Ratio of 16:9 in the menus and an Aspect Ratio of 4:3 when I start the movie. That means the movie is coded 4:3, not 16:9, which lead to the bars on my TV. I hope you understand, but I can make 2 or 3 photos this evening and put them in here on the thread.

I have found a few examples on the net now:
This is how it looks on a 4:3 TV:
TVGuide-7.jpgThis is how it looks on my 16:9 TV:
TVGuide-6.jpgThis is how it should look on a 16:9 TV:

Here's what they say about this problem on the webpage I have the images from:
We've come across this problem before in a couple of different situations: (1) Occasionally, channels that normally broadcast shows in 16:9 mistakenly broadcast a 16:9 show in a 4:3 space; (2) Sometimes, DVDs labeled "anamorphic" will have this effect - even though they're supposed to fit a 16:9 screen, your DVD player or TV may not handle the signal properly. In both cases, you may be able to correct the problem by adjusting aspect ratio settings on your cable/satellite box or DVD player, but often the easiest (and possibly only) thing you can do is simply zoom the smaller 16:9 image to fill your larger 16:9 screen."
Link to the Website
The only thing I can do is to zoom the picture, but this makes the picture quality fuzzy, in the end it is only zooming up the picture.
Like I said, I didn't have this problem with Raul Cristian EA DVDs and also not with Cindy Hope is Fresh on Cock. My player always shows an Aspect Ratio of 16:9 (in the menus and in the movie) with this DVDs.
I think that all people with a 16:9 TV has this problem, but maybe a lot of them have adjust their TV to always fit the whole screen, regardless what Aspect Ratio the source has. In this case you only notice that the picture is a bit fuzzy.

Just my 2 cents because I have some experience in this area. It obviously sounds like this DVD is simply lacking an anamorphic transfer. You can down convert HD footage to SD as a simple letterbox, which is what it sounds like is the case here, but the picture information that you lose is permanently gone, which is why you get the peephole effect. An anamorphic down convert and subsequent DVD encode will retain all of that picture information so that it will display full screen on a 16X9 TV or automatically display in letterbox 16X9 on a 4:3 tv. An anamorphic master that is authored wrong will still be in the 4:3 space but the people will look tall and skinny so it seems the editor delivered a 16X9 letterbox master.

OK - back in the office today.
I've been very absent from the DVD department for the last few months because of my wedding, the EA internet, and the AEE convention.
I was peripherally aware that Christoph's editor had a technical problem with something related to delivering us a couple of the movies, but I didn't realize that the problem also led to the movie having a letterbox transfer.
Since we've had some other movies that we allowed to be done letterbox, the people pre-authoring the movie thought letterboxing wasn't a situation that would cause us to hold up production, so they went forward.
I apologize for not having enough focus on this and other issues recently. I really thought that things would be OK while I went on semi-hiatus.
The good news is that the next Angel Perverse, releasing in Feburary is already in production and is indeed an anamorphic transfer.

Hi Tricia,
first all my congratulations to your wedding and best wishes for your future.
Thank you very much for clarify this so fast. It's good to hear that the next Christoph releases will be indeed in anamorphic widescreen format. But it's a pity that of all movies especially the Anita Pearl movie had no anamorphic transfer. I've waited since October to see it. She's one the cutest Eurobabes of all time.
Thanks also to Mike Quasar, I understand the technical issue behind it now much better.
