Some non-contract girls claim to make over $250k a year; while my best info has the highest paid Contract Girls (not Jenna) getting between $100-$125k per year, for six to eight videos. So, having a contract isn't about money, it's about "free time" for personal life, partying, or other adult industry work, like photo shoots and dance appearances. BTW, no matter "what" they make it's a LOT of money for an 18-26 year old, high school-educated girl to suddenly have and can spend any way she wants. Plus, I can't think of any porn girls who grew up in wealthy homes, where they would be use to this type of money--unless you count Paris Hilton...I don't! So, it shouldn't be too surprising that these girls spend so much of their money on drugs or alcohol, and the partying lifestyle. One way to show it "cares," would be for the porn industry to do something like the pro sports leagues, and set up a retirement fund for performers. It would provide a little "nest egg" and might keep some of the girls from having to "escort" after their porn days are over. [Link]

Two things stand out from your post - "Head screwed on". Any girl that had her head screwed on would probably not consider porn as a vocation. "400k less taxes" - To the best of my knowledge porn girls don't pay taxes unless they are forcibly witheld from their checks. This would provide every performer a source of outside income, from day one--and prepare them for their non-porn "after life." Our course the industry has such an I'm-A-Rebel mentality, and believes that any kind of "assistance" (heatlh, financial, vocational training for the post-porn years) infringes upon the individual's God-given right to fuck-up their life. So, they'll never do anything like this...and we'll continue to hear stories of once famous porn stars escorting or broke or living at home with Mom & Dad. [Link]
