I´ve noticed that Scipio has locked a couple of topics lately.
This place was supposed to be an open - OPEN - forum for all. If we porn buffs have had bad experiences with some dealers out there I think we should be allowed to tell about that - no matter what. Adultdvdtalk would be a perfect place for this purpose.
Many buyers are very frustrated about totally lack of customer service and bad business policy from certain stores. Opposite; if we have had good experiences we will tell about that also. That is the whole point with an open forum like this.
Thanks to this place I´ve dealt with some excellent stores over the last years. Some of them are; Fivestar, Adultdvdnow, Adultdvdtoday, Adultdvdempire and Moviesbymail. No nonsence. Sites always updated. If they say an item is in-stock it is in stock. And none of them will charge your card until they ship your order. And they all deliver within 6-10 days business days.
As you probably now know, I have not always been that lucky with all my choises...
I'm trying to figure out how you think you know what the site "was supposed to be," seeing that you've been here for less than three months, and ADT has been in operation since 1999. Maybe you meant "I think that this place should be..." or "I was expecting this place to be..."
And this message forum is not an open forum--it's a privately owned, moderated forum. There is quite a difference between, say, an alt.* USENET group and here. We enforce rules and standards that are developed under the auspices of the site's owners.
I would suggest that you read the Forum Etiquette page, especially the section about moderators and what they do.
I think generally a lot of information, both positive and negative, about vendors is shared here. However, some people are less than reasonable or honest about what they choose to post here, which is why it is moderated.
I suspect that all of us have had bad experiences with vendors from time to time. I wouldn't be surprised if vendors have had bad experiences with customers from time to time as well. And, in an imperfect world, problems will continue to occur from time to time. That isn't the point.
The point is that, given a bad experience, it is up to YOU (generic you, whoever you may be - not you, specifically) to make every effort to contact the vendor yourself, explaining the problem, in an attempt to work out a solution.
These forums are NOT open to vendor/customer relations on a regular, irregular, or any kind of other basis.
If you have made every possible attempt to resolve issues, including vie email, telephone, and, that old stand-by, snail mail, and you still have no resolution, THEN AND ONLY THEN might it be reasonable to post your complaint IN A RATIONAL, CIVILIZED, LOGICAL, AND WELL-DOCUMENTED MANNER for comment in a thread in this forum.
Rants and finger-pointing have no place here. Expansive claims of mistreatment, undocumented claims, and claims which have not yet wended their way through the vendor's official customer relations channel have no place here.
This web site is not public space. It "belongs" to Steph and Drew. They (and a few other individuals appointed by them as moderators) are entitled to do as they please with their space on the World Wide Web. We, all of us, moderators, members, visitors, porn stars, studios, and vendors, are here as their guests.
If we behave as guests and obey a few rules (see: Forum Etiquette), we should all be able to get along just fine (and with a lot fewer locked threads).
I noticed Scipio only closed threads which were already handled by the customer and the person from the store so there was no need to keep those threads open. If you have a problem also with the same store you can always open a new thread or something.

I suppose so, Ramsey. But he didn´t only close the thread - he LOCKED it. I think most topics expires by itself, so that wasn´t really necessary. Of corse, it is the moderators prerogatives to lock (or close) a topic. But with doing so visitors loose their opportunity to give their contributions to the case.
Regarding that specific retailer; They are closed down by now. May they rest in peace.
Further to the point, Scipio locked a thread about a specific complaint that Daggis had regarding an individual retailer, so I can't really see what other visitors could add to it. As Ramsey suggests, everyone's welcome to open a new thread to relate their own experiences. And on that note, with my thanks to the contributions from Saki, Gay Satyr and especially Skronker, I declare this topic officially closed.
My bad...looks like daggis98 (aka dagstor aka dinges) was here for longer than three months. 8 months, I think. Thanks to Gabriel Nine for pointing that out.
Uh, lock = close. Same thing. No difference. When we close a thread, the icon that represents the thread has a little lock on it. There would be no point to closing a thread if people could still post to it.
Been away for a few days, but if anyone's still having difficulty wondering why those two recent topics have been locked, kindly refer to both GaySatyr's and Ramsey's posts in this thread, as they have both explained why quite nicely. Then read GaySatyr's post again...
