Nora Kuzma (aka Traci Lords) was a great-looking gal with a great body who hit the big time for a bit in the 1980's. Her name is mud, though, because she nearly brought down the entire straight porn industry. Her "pity-me" performances in the mainstream media leave a lot to be desired.
I rather enjoyed the Tracer on "Melrose Place." I don't think she is any worse an actress than plenty of non-porn actresses. And I'll always have my memories of her 3-way with Rick Masters (?) and Harry Reems in "The Grafenberg Spot"

As for The Grafenberg Spot, I think it was one of the first movies she made. I remember reading the review in Hustler way back around 1984 or 1985. It was really quite sad what happened later. Alot of titles had to be withdrawn from sale as a result of the scandal.
Traci Lords real name is Nora Louise Kuzma. BTW Skronk, it was Rick Savage not Rick Masters who did that scene with her and Harry Reems. As for today being her birthday, I hope its her last.
PUH-LEEZE!! I don't understand why people who know enough to realize that this industry basically manipulates and uses girls up and spits them out when they are no longer "of value" could ever have a problem with one woman who chose to use the industry back for her own gains. I grew weary of her "pity-me" attitude rather quickly after she went mainstream, also - but really. This is an industry that makes tons of $$ of girls (and alot of it off the pretense of illegal or barely legal "teens.") Are we saying that the men in power she manipulated are poor innocents who have never abused their positions before ...never used, manipulated or abused anyone for their own good? What she did may have hurt the industry, but it was a hurting that was long coming and probably helped teach some powers that be to be more careful.
I don't have tons of love for Traci Lords ...she was aight to me as a performer and she was pretty hot, but I definitely don't fault her anymore than any of the agents, producers, studio-heads, etc.
I see that Tracy will be in a new series on VH-1 coming soon. I saw her in the trailer. I personally thinks she looks more attractive now then when she was youinger.
I see the adult industry is just as unfriendly in USA as in britain. Wishing someone was dead, nice!!!
I cannot see how it is Traci who gets all the flack, the film makers , her agents etc seem to just be able to carry on while she gets all the blame.

There's only one movie done by TL in which was adult it was made in France and the title is "Traci Je T'Aime" (Traci I love you). Since I Have it on DVD(but not for Traci, I've it because of Marilyn Jess , my favourite alltime)i can say there's no scene in a dorm in it.

I am not sure if they are legal in France, but you can buy a box set with Traci videos (or DVDs?) from a French distributor. They even had ads running for it on a French porn channel.
Only two years ago, Belgian Canal Plus has aired Traci Lords Bästa! , a Swedish compilation video of Traci's work, as well as Love Bites , a video from 1985 which not only had Traci, but also a seventeen year old Ali Moore.

Theoretically I suppose they're illegal in France, but no measure has ever been taken to remove them from the market. She's not really symbolic of child pornography. VHS are still available in sex shops and some of them have been transferred on DVD (New Wave Hookers and the boxset Walter was referring to). Type "Lords" in the search function HERE if you want to know the movies in the boxset, I have no idea of their original titles. It's on page 2, AR means back cover.
The situation over here (and in some other European countries) is murky at the best. When those films were made the minimum age for porn was 16 as in quite a few other countries at that time. Only in the last years (mainly because of international pressure) the age has been raised to 18, but it is unsure whether anything made before the law changed has suddenly become illegal or not. And nobody is willing to go to court to test it.
But finding the TL movies here is very easy, but I am not going to tell you where to buy them, as that would be against the rules of ADT (and don't bother asking me in private).
And I don't think it's a priority for the police, as I've seen them in many sexshops.
Hold on. Traci is hardly in the mainstream and i can't defend what she did at all. What she did was calculated and cost alot of people alot of money and got them in alot of trouble. Ginger Lynn being one such person. And if she regrets her porn past so much and wants to put it behind her, why all the books (i heard another autobiography is coming out) and why's he still called Traci and not Norma- because porn is all she is known for and always will be.

I believe I saw Tracy Lords in a commercial on VH-1. She's going to be on a new series starting this Summer. I don't know the name of the series, but it looked really silly.It showed a grown man riding a tricycle with a slice of pizza tied to the front of his face.
So we're now saying that Traci alone is responsible for all that ocurred. The industry that failed to police itself has no responsibility?
and while I like Ginger Lynn and, as I stated, was never a big Traci fan, is Traci alone responsible for Ginger's loss of liberty...what about Ginger herself?
It is not as if Traci went running to the authorities specifically to harm Ginger or anyone...the police and U.S. Attorneys knew they had a young girl who had made mistakes and they were going to use her to wipe out porn in their own little minds. Having met someone who was involved with the task force (one of many) involved, I am told a great amount of legal pressure was being inflicted upon Traci. Nothing wrong with saving your own ass in an industry that is really only interested in your ass.
Bottom line? The Attorney's office, the police, Traci, Ginger, the inustry itself - hell even a hypocritical culture that denies, demeans and criticizes the porn industry all the while watching it behind closed doors - all these folks were both harmed and helped...and they all share in the blame (if there must be one)

Yes. She went and got herself a California Drivers License using other phony ID. She used that ID to get into the porn business. How is the industry responsible for accepting a state issued, unaltered form of identification?

Ginger Lynn did not profit from Traci. She was a fellow sex worker who never 'used' or harmed Traci - she did not deserve ANY of the bad things the cops threw at her because of Traci.
So even admittingly knowing that the Feds knew she was underage and used her for entrapment purposes, and even knowing that the cops used her to get Ginger Lynn, it is stll Traci - not the cops - that we are going to blame?
I am not saying this just to defend Traci. After reading some other threads about performers who may regret their careers, it has seemed to me that many people like to aim huge amounts of blame and detest on them. Its as if we paint a bullseye on their backs and feel we have the right to judge every part of their private lives just because we are so familiar with their public lives...I dunno, it just makes me worry for these girls/women...it makes me think we will eventually reinforce the social stigmas that kept this industry so underground and in the dark for so long...
