Is it just me or do many in the porn industry not seem to know the difference between transvestites, transexuals, and women?
So, in the simplest terms possible, let's refresh the memories of those who may have forgotten:
(1) A transvestite is NOT a woman. It's like saying that an eclair is a donut. It's not and it never will be.
(2) A transexual is NOT the same as a transvestite. In this case, the eclair has been surgically altered so that it resembles a donut. But, if it in any way still resembles an eclair, then guess what it is? You got it - an eclair.
Why do I say that some folks seem to have forgotten the difference between transvestites, transexuals, and women? Let me give you an example. I rent movies from XRent. When you visit their site, you are immediately directed towards either "straight porn" or "gay porn." In simpler terms, you are directed to choose either eclairs or donuts. I always choose donuts, because that's just what I prefer. There is, of course, nothing wrong with those guys inclined towards eclairs. I just don't happen to be one of them.
Anyway, guess what you find when you go to the "straight porn" section of XRent? - That's right, tons and tons of porn featuring transvestites. To make matters worse, the titles refer to transexuals, when even a cursory review of the covers indicates that the performers still have essential male parts. So, what do you end up with? - Eclairs when you were looking for donuts. And, not just that, but eclairs masquerading as donuts.
This isn't rocket science folks. If the folks who make, label, market and distribute porn can't figure this one out, can they please get their butts into a bakery to see just how easy it all is?

Why not just say that you don't like men who look like women in your porn? But donuts and eclairs?
If a rental service does stuff that you don't appreciate maybe you should bitch at them not at us.

and I just don't like reading pointless posts. What kind of discussion did you hope to generate by voicing your dislike for not completely straight porn? Is it treading any new ground as far as this board? -- Do a search, you can find plenty of people who don't want to see trannie porn with "straight" porn, 'nuff said.

If you want a serious answer to your post then here it is:
Transvestites are men who dress up as, and act like women. Getting breast implants goes way beyond dress up, wouldn't you agree?
Transexuals are people who undergo a sex change or whose sexual identity is entirely of the opposite sex. I would have to say that definition comes a lot closer to the people you're complaining about than transvestite does.
PS - The Trannie films are in the Straight section because that's the audience that buys those films. You won't find many gay men interested in men who are trying to look like women.

Does this actually make sense? If the film involves scenes of men having sex with people with penises (whether you want to define them as guys or transvestites or partial transexuals with boob jobs), then how does that constitute "straight porn?" My point is that "straight porn" directed at men which does not in any way involve a woman is not "straight porn."
While you might get some agreement out of me that I don't consider it to be 100% straight porn, it's not exactly gay porn either. Find a group of gay men and ask them what they think of having sex with a man who looks like a woman.
Gay men are attracted to men who look like men. The transvestite and transsexual community is kind of an orphan that doesn't really fit in either the gay or straight camp because it can't really be classified as 100% gay or straight. A LOT of straight men will watch the occasional tranny flick. There seem to be quite a few openly gay men in my area so I know a few. I don't know a single gay man who is attracted to trannies.
The whole point of the thread is that it's difficult to "steer clear of it" when these titles are intermingled with "straight porn." Even a cursory review will tell you that many times these movies aren't even labeled as transsexual titles, such as the following movies listed among "straignt porn" at XRent:

It's a little disingenuous to say this stuff is "straight porn" when the back covers clearly show transsexual penetration of another male performer. The question is a simple one...Why isn't this stuff listed among "gay porn?"

Familiarize yourself with the titles that you think are TS related and skip over those. So what if you click on a boxcover that's got a girl with a huge dick on the back of it? You learn to deal.
As far as X-Rent goes, it's easy enough to de-select the transsexual category, so it isn't like they're forcing you to look at every box cover.
As for why it isn't in the gay section, you've already asked and been answered. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't put an onus on the store to change it. They aren't going to put product where it doesn't sell, after all.

That's all I'm saying - that it's really, really annoying to have to pick through titles that aren't really "straight porn." Maybe, the rental companies can set up a third area titled something like "bisexual" or "bicurious" that more accurately reflects the interests of the folks who are renting these titles.

This is probably the only point I agree with you on. Penetration of a male is my main problem with TS movies. That could, arguably, be labeled gay or bi. I would fast forward past such a scene at least. But TS stuff with "girls" who look like real girls and does not involve penetration of a male, I'm all for, as a person who consider myself straight.

Hi Wendy... How are you? The production in question was shot outside of the US, so the luxury of AIM testing wasn't available here in Europe. A lot of the TS girls are 1-film-wonders, unlike yourself, and the key TS performers in the US, who perform on a regular basis, under AIM's supervision like the rest of the US industry.
